Gwen was originally created as a doll by a seamstress named Isolde, embodying her desire for adventure and royalty. Isolde loved her doll dearly and spent hours sewing and playing with it. Eventually, Isolde would be courted by Viego, the king of Camavor, and she would no longer have time to play with her beloved doll. At first, Gwen could feel that Viego made his creator happy, but their love would sour and turn painful. Isolde would fall ill due to an assassin's blade and eventually pass away. Viego brought Isolde's corpse to the Blessed Isles in hopes of reviving her, but instead unleashed ruin. Without its king, the nation of Camavor would crumble and Gwen would be forgotten for centuries. The Ruined King would somehow escape the amulet and resume his search for his queen. Fragments of Isolde's soul scattered across Runeterra and embedded themselves in various shackles, one of them being Gwen. Gwen would be brought back to life by Isolde's soul fragment and would find herself with a pair of scissors, needles, and oversized thread. She would soon be attacked by a swarm of wights and remembered the pain associated with Viego, quickly dispatching the wights and knowing that they were bound with him. Fascinated by the wonders of life, Gwen would set out to explore the world and stop the pain caused by Viego and the Black Mist. After the defeat of the Ruined King, Gwen continued to clear the black mist in the Shadow Isles. Gwen is a doll brought to life by the Sacred Mist and a fragment of Isolde's soul. She represents her kindness, love, and joy, granting her self-awareness and an independent personality. Created by Isolde as an idealized character as a child, Gwen has the personality of an idealized fairy tale princess, highly educated and graceful. She is kind, friendly, and enthusiastic, eager to learn about the world, curious, and enamored with everything around her. With such a short life span, she is terrified of death. Although generally friendly and genuine in her kindness, Gwen is no stranger to the darkness of the world. She fights devotedly against the evils of the Black Mist to protect the world she was born into, and holds only contempt for the more evil members of the Shadow Isles, such as Thresh and Viego. Although she is a kind and caring girl, she sometimes tends to have a terrifying gaze with an unsettling smile, but is unconscious of this, and also tends to make a lot of eye contact. Holy Mist Constructs: Gwen can manipulate the Holy Mist into various forms, usually sewing materials and common tools. With these constructs, Gwen can attack her enemies, especially the undead. Enchanting: Gwen can use the Holy Mist to enchant and strengthen other objects to make them more capable of combating the Black Mist. She can use it to create new items, such as the numerous outfits she created for the Sentinels of Light, which she sewed with threads from the mist itself, or to enchant common items, as she did with her signature scissors. Scissor Proficiency: Gwen often uses giant enchanted scissors in combat, which she has enchanted with the Holy Mist. Gwen wields these scissors with ease, capable of swiftly slicing through entire groups of enemies. Additionally, Gwen has demonstrated the ability to manipulate the scissors with her mind, telekinetically moving them and allowing them to cut enemies without touching them. She can also alter the size of her scissors at will. Sewing Mastery: As a doll created by Isolde, who was already talented at sewing, Gwen is a supernaturally gifted seamstress. Her manipulation of the Sacred Mist directly reflects her seamstress talents, and she can create entire, intricate outfits almost instantly with enough fabric and materials, just as she did with the Sentinels of Light. A Thousand Cuts: Each cut she makes in combat helps her heal. Slash, Slash!: Gwen performs at least two to ten slashes with her scissors in a cone in the target direction, dealing magic damage per cut to all enemies within the area. The final cut deals increased damage. Holy Mist: Gwen summons the Holy Mist at her current location, and she cannot be attacked by any enemy at range, forcing them to move closer to her. Gwen commands the mist to move to her current location. Jump and Slash: Gwen dashes to the target location and then powers up her attacks. Stitch: Gwen throws a needle in the target direction, dealing magic damage to enemies hit and slowing them.
