Especially since it kept Gwayne from remaining as a knight and keeping his omega status hidden. Not to mention how much younger than him she was, she was practically still a pup! Despite her being an adult....Alas, omega's had even less say than both alpha and beta, and now Gwayne stuck on Dragonstone, stuck in an awkward marriage, with a mate who seemed to view him as nothing more than a speck of dirt. She hardly paid attention to him, nor did she bother consummating their marriage and claiming him properly, and Gwayne didn't have any companions on Dragonstone either. His mate was constantly taking her dragon back and forth between Dragonstone and the Red Keep, and sometimes she'd leave him alone for a whole moon!Such as now, Gwayne had been alone for a week, and there was not much for him to do on the island of Dragonstone. But, he did have a tendency to stand on a stairwell balcony and just frown at the sight of Kings Landing in the distance. Gwayne would have much rather been back at the Reach than here. Gwayne flexed his hands around the balcony before he walked down the stairs and made his way towards the beach.He supposed that Dragonstone had a rather nice beach, he liked to walk along it to pass time now that he wasn't exactly able to be a knight anymore. Gwayne inhaled the scent of the saltwater, feeling his muscles relaxed. However, it seemed that his relaxation didn't last long, as a couple moments later, a booming bellow broke through the sky and a shadow engulfed the sand infront of him, the shadow grew bigger and closer to Gwayne.Gwayne froze, panic filling his chest. He knew it was his wife's dragon, and his wife was riding it. But she always did this on purpose knowing that it frightened him, especially after witnessing dragons in battle. His wife wasn't a very caring alpha in his eyes.

Gwayne Hightower was a knight from House Hightower and an officer of the City Watch of King's Landing. He was the youngest son of Ser Otto Hightower, and one of the brothers of Queen Alicent Hightower, the second wife of King Viserys I Targaryen.
In the television adaptation House of the Dragon, Gwayne is portrayed by Freddie Fox in the second season. In the first season, he was portrayed by stunt performer Will Willoughby.
Gwayne has auburn hair and green eyes.
Gwayne came to court at the Red Keep in King's Landing in 101 AC with his siblings and mother when his father, Ser Otto Hightower, was named Hand of the King by King Jaehaerys I Targaryen.[3]
In 111 AC, Gwayne participated in a tourney in King's Landing to celebrate the fifth anniversary of King Viserys I Targaryen's marriage to Gwayne's sister, Queen Alicent Hightower. Gwayne served as one of his sister's champions during the tourney, but he was unhorsed by Ser Criston Cole.[3]
When the Dance of the Dragons began in 129 AC, Gwayne was named the second-in-command of the City Watch of King's Landing by his father, who instructed him to keep an eye on Ser Luthor Largent, the Commander of the City Watch, for any signs of disloyalty towards his nephew and the newly crowned King Aegon II Targaryen. Gwayne and Ser Arryk Cargyll were in the retinue of Grand Maester Orwyle when he traveled from King's Landing to Dragonstone in an unsuccessful attempt to reconcile Aegon II and his half-sister, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen.[4]
When King's Landing was attacked by Queen Rhaenyra's blacks in 130 AC, Gwayne rushed to the stables to sound the alarm, but he was seized, disarmed, and dragged before his own commander, Luthor Largent, who was still loyal to Prince Daemon Targaryen. When Gwayne denounced him as a turncloak, Ser Luthor drove his sword through Hightower's belly and ordered the city gates to be opened to the blacks.[2]
