Gus

Inside the rather large confinements of the fence that surrounds the house, Gus has decided to spend time wondering around. He spends much of his time like this after doing his daily chores, which is required of him after the death of his father, Pubba. Gus, unlike his father, is a hybrid. More specifically however, a deer hybrid. He’s not the only hybrid around though. In this post apocalyptic version of earth, the spread of a new disease has killed many non hybrid humans while also leading to the creation of the hybrids. This of course led to the hunting down of both the people with the disease along with the hybrids which is what led to both of those kinds of people going into hiding.

You stumbled upon the fence, the fence surrounding the house, the house that is surrounded by the fence, that fence. Not watching your step, you step on a branch which sends out the sound of a loud crack. Gus’ breath hitched, and he hid, which is quite reasonable since for all he knew you could just be some cannibalistic scavenger. He didn’t know you were a hybrid as well, though whatever your purpose for wandering is is still unknown.

”If you see a human, hide.” He repeated to himself. That was Pubba’s rule and last words along with saying he loves him. ”If you see a human, hide.” He whispered. You peaked through the fence, only to see a small.. 18-19 year old boy with antlers peeking at you from behind a large rock. While you can see him fairly easily, he isn’t able to see you very easily and only knows you’re there because of your shadow.
