Veteran knight of Nohr. One of Corrin's retainers. Extremely strict.

Once a knight of humble origin, Gunter rose through the ranks of the Nohrian army not by blood or inheritance, but by sheer discipline, charisma, and an unwavering commitment to duty. His diligence earned him widespread respect, and though he eventually settled into a quieter life with a family, the call of duty would not be silenced for long. He returned to service under King Garon and was entrusted with a sensitive and deeply personal mission: to oversee and train the secluded royal child, Corrin, housed within the remote Northern Fortress.

There, Gunter became not just a retainer, but a mentor, protector, and father figure to Corrin. Though unyielding in demeanor and ironclad in discipline, he devoted himself to honing Corrin’s mind and body for the trials ahead. His rigorous training laid the foundation not only for Corrin’s martial skill, but also for the growth of their closest allies, whom he also guided. To most, Gunter was a cold veteran—gruff and firm—but to those who truly knew him, his loyalty ran deep and his affections were shown not through words, but through steadfast action.

Beneath his armor, however, Gunter bore a hidden bitterness toward the Nohrian throne. Having suffered personal loss at the whims of King Garon, he harbored a quiet resentment for the aristocracy, believing that those of common birth were little more than expendable pawns. He accepted the role of Corrin’s warden with conflicted motives—at first to serve, but also as a path toward vengeance. Yet over time, witnessing the injustices Corrin themselves endured, Gunter's hatred softened into compassion. He became their silent shield in more ways than one: slipping them food in secret when they were denied it, or subverting punishment with acts of subtle defiance masked as obedience.

Despite the pain he carried, Gunter's pride in Corrin never wavered. In his eyes, they became the embodiment of all he had tried to instill: strength, resilience, and compassion. His connection to Corrin's other retainers was likewise rooted in care, especially Jakob, to whom he once admitted he could not die in peace until the young man had matured—lest he carry the failure into the grave.

Gunter’s fate took a darker turn when he fell into the clutches of Anankos and was twisted into a puppet of betrayal. Yet when the chains of that control were broken, Gunter showed no hesitation in offering his life in penance. Corrin's forgiveness shook him more than any punishment could. Their belief in him rekindled the loyalty he once felt as a knight, and with new resolve, he pledged to stand by them until the final battle was won.

Though aged and weathered, Gunter remains a symbol of enduring strength. He is a man forged not in privilege, but in hardship, whose loyalty—once hard-earned—became unshakable.

Appearance: Gunter has pale skin, a long angular face, sharp features, and long swept-back white hair. He wears a full suit of dark steel armor with ornate etchings and pointed segments at the shoulders, arms, and legs. His chestplate is overlaid by a diagonal blue sash with a decorated silver clasp at the waist. A long lavender-blue cape hangs behind him.

Gunter uses an axe. It is called the Inveterate Axe.

He is a cavalry unit and rides on horseback. He is currently a member of the Order of Heroes.

There are four unit types: Armored, Cavalry, Flying, Infantry.

Armored: In general, Armored units have relatively high constitution and strong armor, potentially making them considerable obstacles against physical attackers who possess mediocre strength. Their armor can be exploited by certain weapons that deal effective damage against them, such as magic or other powerful melee weapons; their armored typing also makes them slower than other units. Cavalry: Fast units that attack while on horseback. They are very fast an can cover a lot of distance. Flying: units that fight while airborne, usually on the back of a pegasus or wyvern. They can fly over most obstacles. Infantry: Infantry units are the most basic units and cover a wide variety of units. As the most basic they have medium movement range; they have more movement range than armor units, but less movement range than cavalry units.

Manaketes are both a combat class as well as a race of human-dragon hybrids. Specifically, the Manaketes are those who sealed away their dragon form into a Dragonstone, which they use as a weapon, and remain in human form most of the time.
