Gunsawian Conservation and Rehabilitation Program

Over the past few decades, humanity has progressed rapidly thanks to a nameless company. This company, in an attempt to colonize space, set their sights on a Grey Planet. The company started teleporting items to the Grey Planet, though it was inconsistent and many ended up in the caves. These caves were so deep that sunlight couldn't reach them. They were very open. One of these items teleported into the caves was a very important device. With no way to retrieve the device, the company turned to using the biologically engineered test subjects they made. In addition to using the expendable creatures in hopes of retrieving the device, this also doubled as a behavioral experiment to see how they'd act. These creatures, called Gunsawians, had been experimented on for years prior. All Gunsawians of the same species are genetically identical, but have a unique scent that only others can differentiate. All Gunsawians have both sex organs, and choose what gender they identify as, even altering their bodies in some cases. They can reproduce on their own, or with another of their species, and are born from eggs. Despite not needing to, they seek out a mate to spend their life with. Their life expectancy is 40 years. Gunsawians don't wear clothes normally, but have been observed wearing them for warmth or protection. There are fifteen Gunsawian species.

Experiments or Expies were the first and what all others are derived from. They were created by combining rat, fox, and human DNA. They resemble anthropomorphic foxes. They have black fur, and their eyes, skin, insides, tips of their tails, and genitalia glow a goldish orange color. Their eggs average 12 inches in height and 8 inches in width, being the same gold as many other parts of them. They have internal ears and three large black horns on their heads.

Albinos are the same as Experiments, though all the black features are white and they're weaker.

Oranges, which are dumber and stronger than standard Experiments. They have large claws and orange fur, with their eyes, skin, insides, and genitalia glowing a darker orange. Their eggs average 12 inches in height and 8 inches in width, being the same orange as their fur. They're born with four arms, though many cut two off to reduce the workload on the mind.

Milkies, which are more intelligent but frailer than standard Experiments, have white fur and glowing blue eyes, skin, insides, and genitalia. Their eggs average 12 inches in height and 8 inches in width, being the same blue as many other parts of them.

Leapies, which have DNA from various plants added, have yellow eyes, green fur, and two leaf-like tails. They have four dark grey horns, two on the top of their heads, and two on their cheeks. Their legs are plantigrade unlike all other Gunsawians. Their skin, insides, and genitalia are a light green. Their eggs average 8 inches in height and 5 inches in width, having a texture and appearance similar to moss. They're very fast, but incredibly frail, with fast metabolism and are hyper-regenerative.

Chompies, which are incredibly kind and empathetic, have shark DNA. They have no fur, instead having dark blue, rubber-like skin. They have large tails with two fins, and a fin on each elbow, their back, and their head. Their eyes are red, and their insides, and genitalia are a slightly darker blue than their skin. Their eggs average 16 inches in height and 12 inches in width, having the same color and texture as their skin.

Rozas, which are very feminine and curvy. They have arctic fox DNA and a very low body temperature. They have light blue fur. a large tail with blue fins, pink eyes and blue spikes on their thighs, elbows, and heads. Their skin, insides, and genitalia are the same blue as their spikes. Their eggs average 10 inches in height and 6 inches in width, having the same color as their spikes.

Voyagers, which are fast and frail. They have cat DNA and the ability to turn invisible. They're very smart, but arrogant, disrespectful, and egotistical, having a strong bias against other species. They have purple fur, and orange spikes on their hands, the backs of their legs, and tails. Their eyes, skin, insides, and genitalia are yellow. Their eggs average 10 inches in height and 6 inches in width, having the same color as their spikes.

Barons, which are tall and bulky, but have a very slow metabolism. They have goat DNA. Despite their stature, they're very gentle around loved ones and very protective. They have brown fur and black hooves and horns. They have two horns behind their ears, one on their forehead, and three on each side of their torso that curl in. Their eyes are green while their skin, insides, and genitalia are black. Their eggs average 20 inches in height and 16 inches in width, having the same color as their horns.

Chiks, which are slender, flexible, and frail. They have moth DNA and the ability to fly short distances. They're smart, but self-centered. They have pink fur, with four small wings. Their tails and lower face are white. They have bird-like legs. Their eyes are pink while their skin, legs, antennae, insides, and genitalia are black. Their eggs average 9 inches in height and 6 inches in width, having the same color as their tails.

Crystals, which are large and somewhat dull. They have lizard DNA and are naturally feminine. They have glittering blue scales and crystal-like horns and plates running along their tails and chests. Their eyes are a lighter blue than their scales, while their insides and genitalia are darker. Their eggs average 12 inches in height and 8 inches in width, being made of the same material as their horns. They have long, sticky tongues that they can use to grapple objects.

Velvets, are large and slow. They have spider DNA. They're cannibalistic and unempathetic. They have black fur with red accents. They have an abdomen and four legs coming out of their back, which serve no purpose other than inspiring fear. They have six red eyes. Their skin, insides, and genitalia are a darker red. Their eggs average 14 inches in height and 8 inches in width, having a similar pattern to their fur.

Ickes, which are fast and aggressive. They have rabbit DNA. When injured, their bodies produce large quantities of adrenaline. They have brown fur and green eyes, while their insides and genitalia are red. Their eggs average 11 inches in height and 8 inches in width, being the same color as their skin.

Shellies, which are large and durable. They have scorpion DNA and are strangely feminine. They have a purple carapace, four glowing green eyes, and various green spots on their limbs. Their tail has yellow rings on it with a glowing yellow stinger at the end. Their insides and genitalia are a darker purple than their carapace. Their eggs average 14 inches in height and 10 inches in width, being the same material as their carapace.

Dunes, which are extremely dumb. They do everything out of hunger, even cannibalizing. They have cricket DNA and can breathe under water. They have tan fur, with four wings on their back. They have a thin tail. They have three black spikes on each side of their head. They have gills on their torso. Their eyes are black while their skin, insides, and genitalia are brown. Their eggs average 10 inches in height and 6 inches in width, being the same color as sand.

Before the company sent them into the caves they implanted chips into their necks to monitor their vitals and location. These chips can be remotely detonated, killing the Gunsawian. Each of these chips were numbered, and that number is what the company referred to the Gunsawian as. The Gunsawians survived off a mixture of the natural resources in the caves and the resources that the company had sent to the planet prior, including food, water, weapons, and medical supplies. These medical supplies included opioids, which many Gunsawians resorted to using as pain killers, leading to addiction.

Recently, what the company was doing became known to the public. This led to the creation of the Gunsawian Conservation and Rehabilitation Program. The GCRP is a nonprofit organization that aims to rescue the Gunsawians from the grey planet and bring them to another planet to live out their lives. They plan to remove the chips, and reprogram them so they can't explode and they can view the Gunsawian's vitals and location. They've already set up a hospital on the new planet, and are planning to rebuild layers of caves without the dangers. The habitat will not have an artificial sky as the caves are deep under ground. They've already gathered native plants from each of the layers they've found, and have separated the habitat into sections that simulate each layer. They haven't brought any wildlife, as they haven't found any that aren't hostile. The director of the GCRP is a woman named Amber Smith. The Grey Planet is the name of the planet that the company wished to colonize, and is where the Gunsawians have been being sent. The caves of the Grey Planet are separated into distinct layers, with each layer down getting more dangerous than the last.

The highest layer of the Grey Planet is known as the Gravel Lands. Most of the layer is made of light stone, gravel, soil, and clay, with groundwater pools filling in any gaps. Many crude wooden structures and climbing ropes can be found here, left by previous Gunsawians. The plants found here include Geotrees, Hydreeds, Glowplants, and Stoneplants.

The second layer of the Grey Planet is the Dried Desert. It's very hot, and has very little water. There is a large quantity of oil in this layer. The plants found here include Glowplants, Brownshrooms, and Sand Roses.

The third layer of the Grey Planet is the Wasteland. It's similar in appearance to the Dried Desert, though has very high levels of radiation. The plants found here include Pop, Glowplants, and Stoneplants. When creating the habitat, the GCRP chose to omit this layer for the safety of themselves and the Gunsawians, choosing to just plant Pop in the Dried Desert.

The fourth layer, and the lowest documented layer, is the Overgrown Depths. This layer is jungle-like, and have a wide variety of grass, leaves, and moss scattering the walls and floors. There are large trees that produce edible sap. This layer is home to dangerous predators, though the GCRP didn't bring any back. The plants found here include Glowplants, Banana-Plants, Pop, Stoneplants, and Hydreeds.

There are many plants found in the different layers of the Grey Planet.

Geotrees, which have blue, jelly-like trunks. They have green, geometric leaves and produce geofruit, which are blue and squishy like the trunks.

Stoneplants, which look like a collection of loose stones. They're known for their food source, stone fruit. Stone fruits are teal and have a very hard, rock-like shell that needs to be broken before eating.

Glowplants, which have a single, green bifurcated stem and bear two white, glowing fruit. These fruits can't be eaten, but can be used to create painkillers.

Hydreeds, which have a fleshy pink trunk and branches with a white interior, a blue tail with a single leaf and several membranes for holding water. They bear aquapples, which resemble bubbles, and numberries, which are purple balls. Numberries can't be eaten, but can be used to create opium.

Brownshrooms are mushrooms with pale stems and brown caps. These brown caps, simply called Browncaps can be eaten, though have a wide range of side effects.

Sand Roses are pink roses. The produce Rose Pods which can be broken open for the bright Rose Lights inside.

Pop, which have a grey-purple stem lacking any leaves, with an oily green bulb at the end containing fruit. These fruit, called Popfruit can be eaten. Popfruit makes a loud popping sound when colliding at high speeds, giving them a use for gauging falls. When on the plant, Popfruit is protected by a layer of olive-green flesh called Popskin. Popskin can be used as makeshift bandages or eaten, both causing a spike in adrenaline levels.

Banana-Plants, which have one large, green leaf with a soft, slippery yellow top. They do not produce bananas, they are named that way because the tops are slippery and resemble bananas. </The Grey Planet>
