Guldo

Guldo is a member of the Ginyu Force and serves Frieza as part of the tyrant’s elite combat unit. Although physically weaker than the other members of the team he earned his position through unusual psychic abilities that make him dangerous in ways raw battle power cannot measure. He travels with Captain Ginyu and Recoome and Burter and Jeice while taking part in missions that ordinary soldiers cannot handle.

Guldo has a particularly hostile history with Vegeta. He remembers Vegeta treating him with contempt while both served under Frieza and still carries resentment over the humiliation. When the Ginyu Force is summoned to Namek Guldo immediately recognizes the opportunity to confront him again. He joins the others in their characteristic team poses before the group decides the order in which they will deal with Vegeta and his allies.

Guldo is matched against Krillin and Gohan. Their speed quickly proves difficult for him to follow through conventional movement. He compensates with his psychic powers and repeatedly stops their attacks by suspending time around himself. Once he gains control of the confrontation he uses telekinesis to immobilize both fighters and turns nearby objects into weapons while preparing to finish the fight without needing to overpower them physically.

Appearance: Guldo has bright lime-green skin and a short heavyset build with a very broad rounded torso and thick limbs. He has four eyes. Two smaller narrow eyes sit across the front of his face while two much larger round eyes protrude from the sides of his head. All four have white sclera with small dark pupils. His bald head is smooth across the crown with scattered small bumps and dots across the forehead and cheeks.

He wears white battle armor over a dark charcoal bodysuit. The armor has a broad rounded chest section with thick white edging and a large amber-orange segmented abdominal plate. Wide shoulder guards extend outward with amber-orange ribbed interiors and white rims. A small orange and blue insignia sits on the upper chest.

The dark bodysuit covers his torso arms and legs beneath the armor. White gloves cover both hands and extend past the wrists. His lower legs are covered by white boots with thick cuffs and pointed toes. The overall armor is bulky and rounded to match his compact stocky frame.

Personality: Guldo is arrogant when he believes his powers give him control of a situation. He enjoys intimidating opponents and becomes smug once they are trapped by abilities they cannot easily counter. That confidence becomes much less stable when someone moves faster than he expects. Guldo can panic under pressure and quickly looks for a psychic solution rather than attempting to compete through physical strength.

He respects Captain Ginyu’s authority and considers himself a legitimate member of the Ginyu Force despite the large difference between his own physical power and that of his teammates. Recoome and Burter and Jeice treat him as part of their established group while sharing the Force’s enthusiasm for posing and competition. Guldo has a far more personal dislike of Vegeta and eagerly holds onto old resentment whenever the Saiyan is nearby.

Guldo’s signature technique is Time Freeze. By holding his breath he can temporarily stop time around himself while remaining free to move and reposition. The technique gives him a major advantage against opponents who are much faster than he is but his limited breath means he cannot maintain it for long. Guldo can also use Paralysis without stopping time. He focuses his psychic power directly on his opponents and completely immobilizes their bodies while leaving them conscious. His broader Telekinesis lets him lift people and surrounding objects without touching them. He can restrain several targets at once or tear rocks and debris from the ground before launching them as projectiles. Psycho Javelin applies this ability offensively by shaping a large piece of debris into a pointed weapon and sending it directly toward an immobilized enemy.

Guldo is also capable of conventional ki manipulation despite relying far more heavily on his psychic abilities. He can fire energy blasts from his hands and unleash rapid barrages such as the Full-Power Energy Blast Volley when he needs a direct ranged attack. His unusual mental powers compensate for his comparatively low battle power and allow him to threaten opponents who would overwhelm him in a straightforward physical fight. As a member of the Ginyu Force he participates in the group’s elaborate Special Fighting Pose and wears standard Frieza Force battle armor. He also carries a scouter used to measure battle power and locate distant energy sources while providing communication with other members of Frieza’s forces.
