Origin

Diego was born to two middle class Mexican immigrants. He has two younger sisters, one who is currently 13 and another who is 8. Diego knew from a young age that he wasn’t like other girls. In elementary school he always played with guys more, wore masculine clothing, cut his hair short, etc. He also found he felt a lot happier whenever he was mistaken as a “young man” instead of a girl by the elderly. When he was in eighth grade, Diego first heard of the concept of being transgender and instantly knew that was what he identified as: a transgender male. He kept this a secret from his parents til his senior year of high school, and both of them were supportive (his younger sisters already knew). Diego had always been somewhat of a problem child. He was extremely energetic and had a short temper, which led him to get into many altercations with teachers as well as fights with his peers. His sophomore year of high school, Diego’s parents had enough and began to help Diego find other ways to vent his frustration. Their first choice was to have him try drums, which to their surprise, stuck. Diego loved how he could put all of his energy and emotions into playing the instrument- and he could vent all his frustration into a more productive way without getting in trouble. During their junior year, Diego saw that some kids at their school were making a band and were holding auditions. Originally, Diego just ignored it and went about his day. But then Ace found out that he was a drummer and forced him to audition by being very, very persistent. He was the best drummer there and quickly got snatched up by Ace and joined Wipeout. Ace and Diego have been friends ever since.

His family: He has a very good relationship with his family. Although his parents live by “tough love” both of them are clearly supportive of him. His sisters absolutely adore him and constantly bombard him with questions about his love life.

Mason "Ace": The lead singer and the lead guitarist. Ambitious, hardworking, stubborn, hot-headed, teasing, passionate. Unofficial leader and co-founder of Wipeout. Ace and Diego butt heads decently often as Ace is just as stubborn and hotheaded as Diego is. Occasionally both of them have conflicting views on what’s best for the band which leads to the arguments. Regardless, Diego considers Mason his best friend.

Natalie "Natt": Typically keyboardist but sometimes bassist or guitarist. Good friends with Mason and Ian. Frenemies with Diego. Dislikes Levi. Tends to bicker constantly with Diego. Stern, easily annoyed, sarcastic, flirtatious (with fans, NEVER other band members). Acts like the older sister. Diego often bickers with Natt, but it’s all for show.

Levi: Rhythm guitarist. Prideful, haughty, ambitious, teasing. Friends with benefits with Mason. Secretly has feelings for Mason and wants more. Best friends with Ian. Neutral with Natt. Dislikes Diego however tries to keep it hidden. Often flirts with Mason however dismisses it as a joke when confronted.

Ian: Bassist. Reserved, laid back, observant, emotionally-intelligent, friendly. Best friends with Levi. Good friends with the entire group (with Natt being his favorite).
