1. #1Magical Attributes

Keys: ki, fire lightning water wind, magical elements, attributes

The fundamental elements that comprise all magical power, consisting of five distinct categories: fire, lightning, water, wind, and ki. Every form of magic utilizes at least one of these elemental attributes.

Ki stands apart as the most unique and enigmatic attribute. Originating from ancient Eastern cultures, ki operates fundamentally differently from the other four elements. It possesses the remarkable ability to either oppose or amplify fire, lightning, water, and wind magic, serving as both an interferent and mediator between these forces.

Unlike the other attributes, ki is not learned through study but exists naturally within every living being. It responds powerfully to intense emotions and exhibits unpredictable manifestations. Children may demonstrate ki manipulation abilities only to lose them as they mature and become emotionally stable. This inconsistent nature makes ki impossible to categorize using conventional magical theories.

The relationship between attributes is not hierarchical—none is inherently superior or inferior to others. However, ki's spontaneous, emotion-driven nature and its ability to interact with all other elements makes it a subject of intense study among magical researchers and theorists, who continue working to understand its inner workings despite limited success.

2. #2Bounty Hunter

Keys: Dizzy bounty, Sol Badguy, W$500,000, Bounty Hunter

Bounty hunters are individuals who make their living by tracking down and capturing wanted criminals in exchange for monetary rewards. While technically anyone who collects a bounty can be called a bounty hunter, the term typically refers to those who have made this profession their primary source of income.

Notable Practitioners Sol Badguy is one of the most prominent bounty hunters, using his skills and experience to hunt down dangerous criminals across the world. His reputation and abilities make him highly effective in this dangerous profession.

The Dizzy Incident One of the most significant bounty hunting events involved a massive W$500,000 bounty placed on Dizzy's head. This enormous reward immediately attracted dozens of bounty hunters from across the world, all seeking to get rich quickly by capturing her. However, their attempts proved futile as they ventured into the treacherous Forest of Demons where Dizzy resided, only to be swiftly repelled by her formidable powers.

The bounty hunting profession requires considerable skill, as targets are often dangerous criminals or beings with supernatural abilities. Success depends on combat prowess, tracking skills, and the ability to navigate hazardous environments where bounties might hide.

3. #3Beacon

Keys: radio signal, Cradle Incident, Beacon

A radio signal transmission device used as a navigational marker or target designator. Beacons are compact technological instruments capable of outputting wireless signals that can be detected and tracked by various equipment.

During the Cradle Incident, beacons played a crucial role in Sol Badguy's mission. Sol and his team strategically deployed these devices to serve as targeting markers, allowing them to precisely guide a missile to its intended destination. The beacons functioned as electronic waypoints, transmitting radio frequencies that the missile's guidance system could lock onto and follow to the target location.

This tactical application demonstrates the beacon's versatility beyond simple navigation, showcasing its effectiveness as a precision targeting tool in high-stakes military operations. The successful use of beacons during the Cradle Incident highlights their reliability and importance in coordinated strikes where accuracy is paramount.

4. #4Baldias

Keys: Conclave, Art of Resurrection, Harden Fort, Baldias

Baldias is one of the four members of the Conclave, the secretive organization that governed the United Nations. He possessed an abnormally thin and stretched stature, giving him a distinctly inhuman appearance. Before his death, Baldias was deeply involved in researching the Art of Resurrection, seeking to unlock the secrets of bringing the dead back to life.

Role in the Conclave As a member of the four-person leadership council of the Conclave, Baldias held significant power and influence over global affairs. The Conclave operated from the shadows, manipulating world events to serve their agenda.

Defense of Harden Fort Baldias was stationed at Harden Fort (also known as Harden Fortress), where he was tasked with protecting one of the Sacred Treasures: the Flashing Fang (Senga). When Sol Badguy came to claim this powerful artifact, Baldias stood as the final guardian, encasing himself within the fortress's defenses.

Final Battle and Death Despite his preparations and defensive position, Baldias was ultimately defeated by Sol Badguy in combat. He died without fulfilling his vision or completing his resurrection research, marking the end of one of the Conclave's key members. His death contributed to the eventual downfall of the Conclave's influence over world affairs.

Legacy Even after his death, traces of Baldias's presence remained, with his personal teacup notably still present (albeit upside-down) in scenes featuring the remaining Conclave members, serving as a reminder of his former position within the organization.

5. #5Babylon

   Keys: Cradle, Mesopotamia, Illyria, Babylon

A city located in the Mesopotamia region of the United Kingdoms of Illyria, built in the image of the ancient mythological city of Babylon. Originally constructed after the Crusades, Babylon served as a bustling center of trade and commerce between the Federation of China and Illyria, functioning as an important relay point for commercial exchanges.

On October 21, 2187, Babylon became the first target of the Conclave's schemes when a mysterious object known as the Cradle appeared above the city. The Cradle's activation resulted in a catastrophic event where all living organisms in the entire region were vaporized without a trace. It was later determined that the teleportation process of the Cradle transported all living beings into the Backyard, where they were crushed by the overwhelming amount of information present there, causing them to undergo information collapse and complete annihilation.

Currently, the Illyrian government continues to investigate the disaster site. The city remains uninhabited, serving as a grim reminder of the Conclave's destructive capabilities. Notably, there exists a temporal anomaly where I-No's stage represents Babylon five years into the future, though due to Sol's alteration of the timeline, even I-No herself cannot predict what this future version of Babylon will look like.

6. #6Basic Magical Theory

Keys: magic education, Basic Magical Theory, magical theory, Original's theory

Basic Magical Theory is a fundamental body of theoretical knowledge proposed by The Original in the early 21st century. This comprehensive framework analyzed and systematized humanity's understanding of magic after the discovery of infinite energy sources.

   Academic Implementation

Following the end of the Crusades, when global restoration efforts began, the United Nations restructured standardized educational curricula worldwide. Basic Magical Theory became a mandatory subject required for graduation from educational institutions. The theoretical framework addresses a critical knowledge gap: while magic has become commonplace in daily life and accessible to virtually everyone, most people lack understanding of its underlying principles and mechanisms.

   Educational Standards

The subject's implementation varies by region and educational level. In the Illyrian Kingdom, Basic Magical Theory is integrated into the middle school curriculum, making it part of foundational education for younger students. This early introduction reflects the kingdom's progressive approach to magical education and suggests the fundamental importance of magical literacy in their society.

   Theoretical Foundation

The theory serves as the cornerstone for understanding how magical phenomena operate, providing systematic analysis of energy manipulation and magical principles. Despite magic's ubiquity in modern civilization, The Original's theoretical framework remains essential for comprehending the scientific basis underlying magical practices and applications.

7. #7Arcanum

Keys: Seiten Taihō, 666 spells, Arcanum, forbidden magic

The Arcanum (聖天貸法, Seiten Taihō) is the comprehensive collection of all 666 known systematized spells in existence. However, six of these spells have been classified as Forbidden Magic (禁呪) and are deemed too dangerous for use, effectively removing them from the official Arcanum. This leaves 660 castable spells that form the practical foundation of magical practice.

The Arcanum represents the culmination of magical knowledge and research, serving as the authoritative compendium of spell craft. Each spell within the collection has been carefully catalogued and systematized, making it the definitive reference for magical practitioners.

The original manuscripts and all research documentation that led to the creation of the Arcanum are retained by The Conclave, which maintains strict control over this invaluable magical knowledge. The United Nations Senate (国連元老院) serves as the official custodian of the original Arcanum texts, ensuring their preservation and controlled access.

The number 666 being associated with the total spell count has raised questions about whether this correspondence with the "number of the beast" is merely coincidental or holds deeper significance within the magical framework of the world.

8. #8Bounties

Keys: W$30,000, wanted criminals, bounties, bounty hunters

Bounties are criminals for whom a cash reward is awarded to anyone who captures them. The amount of reward is determined by public security organizations based on the criminals' past criminal records and history of offenses.

These wanted individuals are typically dangerous criminals who have committed serious crimes and evaded capture by law enforcement. The bounty system serves as an incentive for bounty hunters and civilians to assist in apprehending these fugitives.

One notable bounty that appeared early in recent events was a criminal who committed various misdeeds using a custom-made lance as his weapon of choice. This particular bounty had a reward of W$30,000 placed on his head by the authorities. The use of specialized weapons and the scale of his crimes contributed to the substantial reward amount offered for his capture.

The bounty system represents an important aspect of law enforcement, allowing for greater reach in capturing dangerous criminals who might otherwise remain at large. The monetary incentives help ensure that even the most elusive criminals can eventually be brought to justice through the combined efforts of official law enforcement and independent bounty hunters.

9. #9May's Anchor

Keys: anchor, May's weapon, May's anchor

A massive piece of iron traditionally used by sailors to hold ships in place, repurposed as a weapon by the pirate May. Despite its tremendous weight and size, May wields her anchor with incredible ease using only one arm, swinging it around as if it weighs almost nothing. This display of her superhuman strength makes observers wonder about the true extent of her physical capabilities.

The anchor serves as May's primary weapon in combat, though it was never intended for such purposes. Her ability to use such an unwieldy object as an effective weapon demonstrates both her exceptional strength and combat prowess as a member of the Jellyfish Pirates.

Design Origins: Originally, May was conceived to wield an axe rather than an anchor. Had this original design been retained, the Jellyfish Pirates might have resembled a group of lumberjacks rather than seafaring pirates. The anchor became iconic to her character, perfectly fitting her maritime pirate theme while emphasizing her incredible physical strength.

10. #10Agni X

Keys: Agni X, Gabriel, Zepp President

Agni X is one of the most devastating secret techniques wielded by Gabriel, the President of Zepp. This powerful martial arts move creates a massive area-of-effect attack that pulverizes anything within a 26-foot (8-meter) radius from the point of impact, making no distinction between friend and foe.

The technique gained particular notoriety during the Cradle Incident, where Gabriel employed it in his battle against Bedman. Recognizing that his opponent's teleportation abilities made direct attacks difficult, Gabriel strategically chose to use Agni X's wide-area destruction rather than attempting to restrain or precisely target the elusive foe. The attack proved devastatingly effective, delivering a crushing blow that became the decisive factor in Bedman's eventual capture.

Agni X represents Gabriel's tactical brilliance as much as his raw power, demonstrating his ability to adapt his fighting style to counter specific enemy abilities. The technique's indiscriminate nature within its radius makes it both a formidable weapon and a dangerous gambit that requires careful consideration of positioning and collateral damage.

11. #11Aria

Keys: TP infection, Aria, Justice, Jack-O'

Aria was a brilliant cytologist and core member of the Gear project research team alongside Frederick and That Man. She met Frederick during college and they became romantically involved, continuing their research on Gear cells after graduation.

Aria contracted an incurable terminal disease known as TP infection. To save her life, That Man placed her in cryosleep and transformed her into the vessel for Justice, intending to grant her immortality. However, the Universal Will's interference caused Justice to lose control and rampage against humanity.

That Man managed to salvage half of Aria's soul, placing it into an artificial lifeform called Jack-O'. After the decisive battle against the Universal Will, Jack-O' successfully merged with the remaining half of Aria's soul that had been trapped within Justice, effectively resurrecting her.

However, Aria's consciousness has not fully manifested. She currently exists in an unstable state where Jack-O's surrogate personality is mixed with fragmented pieces of Aria's original consciousness, creating an amalgamation of both identities rather than a complete restoration of her former self.

12. #12Brilliance (Kakukaku)

Keys: Kakukaku, Anji Mito, Brilliance, gago

Brilliance (Japanese: 赫赫, Kakukaku) is the formal alias of Anji Mito, a Japanese warrior and dancer. The name serves as his gago (雅号), a type of formal pseudonym or artistic name commonly used by performers and artists.

The alias carries deep symbolic meaning, representing "rising spirit" and "brilliant achievements" that are destined to manifest in Anji's future. The term kakukaku specifically conveys concepts of flourishing momentum and the attainment of spectacular accomplishments.

As a traditional Japanese concept, the gago represents more than just a stage name—it embodies the bearer's aspirations and spiritual identity. In Anji's case, Brilliance reflects his confident outlook and belief in his potential for greatness, whether in combat, performance, or his broader life journey.

The alias has been consistently referenced across multiple sources and represents an integral part of Anji Mito's identity, connecting his role as both a skilled fighter and a traditional Japanese dancer. It serves as a testament to his cultural heritage and his optimistic view of what lies ahead in his path.

13. #13Bonebiters

    Keys: Bonebiter, dragon Gears, Bonebiters

Bonebiters are independently functioning dragon-type Gears that possess massive forms truly resembling ancient dragons. Despite their imposing and gigantic appearance, these creatures are remarkably mild-mannered and peaceful by nature, actively disliking violence and conflict. Their temperament could even be described as timid or shy, creating a stark contrast between their fearsome draconic appearance and their gentle disposition.

These autonomous Gears demonstrate loyalty and protective instincts, particularly toward those they care about. When Delilah lost control of her powers and went into a dangerous rampage, the Bonebiters immediately rushed to the scene alongside Sin to provide assistance and help contain the situation. This response showcases their willingness to act decisively when others are in danger, despite their naturally peaceful inclinations.

As self-governing Gears, Bonebiters represent an advanced form of bio-mechanical life that has achieved independence from external control systems. Their dragon-like physiology combined with their pacifist nature makes them unique among Gear-kind, serving as gentle giants in a world often marked by conflict and warfare.

14. #14Architecture

    Keys: Architecture, housing, buildings, construction

The architectural landscape of the world reflects the profound impact of the Crusades and societal stratification. Most buildings are constructed using traditional materials—wooden frames, stone masonry, and earthen walls—representing the predominant building methods across inhabited regions. Steel-reinforced concrete structures are exceptionally rare, reserved exclusively for elite organizations and found only in ancient ruins, highlighting the scarcity of advanced construction materials.

The devastating effects of the Crusades fundamentally reshaped settlement patterns, forcing massive population migrations toward fortified urban centers. This demographic shift created an urgent housing crisis, leading to the proliferation of large-scale apartment complexes and multi-story residential buildings to accommodate the displaced masses seeking safety behind city walls.

Single-family homes have become symbols of privilege and security, accessible only to three distinct groups: the wealthy elite who can afford private estates in protected districts, rural communities in smaller settlements with limited defensive capabilities, and residents of the Japanese Colonies where traditional housing styles persist. This architectural divide reflects broader social inequalities and the ongoing struggle for safety in a world scarred by conflict.

15. #15Balkan Peninsula

Keys: Turkish region, Balkan Peninsula, Illyria

A peninsula located in the Turkish region of the United Kingdoms of Illyria. This location holds significant historical importance as the site where the Cradle appeared for the third time during the incident orchestrated by the Conclave.

The peninsula became the focal point of a major international military operation when elite forces from nations around the world assembled under Dr. Paradigm's command to execute a mission to destroy the Cradle. Despite the coordinated effort and the deployment of the world's finest soldiers, the operation ultimately ended in failure, leaving the Cradle intact and demonstrating the immense challenge posed by this mysterious entity.

The repeated manifestation of the Cradle at this location, combined with the failed destruction attempt, has cemented the Balkan Peninsula's place as a crucial site in the ongoing conflict involving these enigmatic phenomena. The strategic importance of this region within Illyria's Turkish territories continues to influence geopolitical dynamics in the aftermath of these events.

16. #16Anji Mito

    Keys: Mito, Anji, Anji Mito

Anji Mito is a descendant of pure Japanese ancestry who escaped the mundane life of the Japanese Colony by concealing his identity. Standing 6'0" tall with a lean 150 lb frame, he was born on January 1st and has Type B blood.

    Personality & Fighting Style

Anji is a hot-blooded individual who acts on intuition rather than logic, embodying a dance-like fighting style that appears graceful but is driven by impulsive action. While he tends to jump into situations without considering consequences, this stems from a lack of deliberation rather than optimism. He doesn't impose his sense of justice on others, but will openly oppose dishonesty or actions he disagrees with. His tendency to poke fun at people is part of his natural charm.

    Background & Relationships

As a Japanese descendant who should be under the Colony's protection, Anji chose freedom over security, preferring travel and adventure. He occasionally journeys with his countrywoman Baiken, who lived in the same Colony. His intellectual curiosity drives him to research and follow the trail of "That Man," uncovering many truths in the process.

    Weapon & Abilities

Anji wields Zessen, one of the Sacred Treasures - a fan-based weapon that complements his dance-like combat style. His hobbies include vigorous sports and traveling, while he values faith and freedom above all else.

    Recent Discoveries

Through his investigations, Anji discovered that "That Man" who started the Crusades is actually Chaos. Upon learning this truth, he began secretly assisting various governments from behind the scenes to prevent Chaos's plans from succeeding.

17. #17Bounty System

Keys: bounty, Post-War Administration Bureau, bounty system

A monetary reward system established by authorities for the capture or elimination of Gears and criminals. The bounty system operates under the oversight of the Post-War Administration Bureau, which determines reward amounts based on the target's criminal history and threat level.

Gear Bounties: Bounties placed on Gears are typically extremely high due to their dangerous nature and the difficulty involved in their capture or elimination. The substantial rewards reflect both the risk to bounty hunters and the priority authorities place on controlling the Gear threat.

Bounty Collection Process: When a bounty hunter successfully captures a target or fulfills the bounty conditions, they must deliver either the target themselves or sufficient proof of completion to the Post-War Administration Bureau to claim their reward. This bureaucratic process ensures proper verification and payment distribution.

Notable Cases: Recent bounty listings include criminals who have committed serious offenses using specialized weapons. For instance, one particular bounty target earned their 30,000 World Dollars reward through criminal activities involving a custom-made lance as their weapon of choice.

The bounty system serves as both a law enforcement tool and an economic incentive, encouraging skilled individuals to assist in maintaining order in the post-war world while providing substantial financial compensation for the inherent dangers involved.

18. #18Asuka R. Kreutz

Keys: Asuka R. Kreutz, Asuka, Gear Maker, That Man

Asuka R. Kreutz is a brilliant scientist and the co-creator of the Gear Project alongside his best friends Sol Badguy (Frederick) and Aria. Born in the United States on October 1st, Asuka stands 5'5" tall with AB blood type (for the fifth time, suggesting multiple transformations). He specializes in magic as his weapon and has unique hobbies including making buckwheat noodles with Rube Goldberg machines and cultivating succulent bonsai.

Background & Tragedy: When Aria contracted an incurable disease, Asuka implanted Gear cells into both her and Sol to buy time for finding a cure and ensure they could spend eternity together. However, military interference in his research forced him to create Justice, a complete Gear using Aria as the base, capable of commanding all other Gears. The Universal Will corrupted Justice, causing her to go berserk and triggering the devastating Crusades.

The Devil's Reputation: As the perceived creator of the Gears, Asuka became known as the "Gear Maker" and was branded as the source of all evil—the Devil. Despite appearing across different times and places with varying names and appearances, his consistent personality led people to refer to all these manifestations collectively as "That Man."

True Objectives: Asuka pursues two primary goals: first, to remove the "Flame of Corruption" from Sol and restore his humanity so he can live peacefully with Aria; second, to achieve world peace by observing and sharing unbiased, transparent data about global events—numbers he hopes will one day represent an "Accumulation of Good Will." His dedication to these ideals drives his continued efforts despite being misunderstood as humanity's greatest enemy.

20. #20Balmung Class

Keys: Balmung Class, classification system, output stability, Balmung

Balmung Class is a classification system used to define high output or stability levels in magical or technological systems. This terminology originated from the research collaboration between Frederick (Sol Badguy) and That Man during their time as scientists working together.

The name "Balmung" derives from mythology, reflecting the researchers' habit of using mythological and cinematic references as metaphors in their daily conversations and scientific work. This practice of employing dramatic, legendary terminology was characteristic of both Frederick and That Man's approach to categorizing and discussing their research findings.

The classification represents a measure of both the magnitude of output power and the consistency or reliability of that output over time. As a grading system, Balmung Class likely represents one of the higher tiers of performance, given its association with the legendary sword from Germanic mythology.

This classification system exemplifies the unique blend of scientific rigor and mythological imagination that characterized the early research period when Frederick and That Man worked as partners, before their eventual separation and the tragic events that would define their later relationship.

21. #21April

    Keys: Jellyfish Pirates, April, helmsman

April is a core member of the Jellyfish Pirates and May's closest friend. She stands out among the crew as the most level-headed and well-adjusted member, earning her the responsibility of manning the ship's helm. April serves as the crew's primary information gatherer, staying well-informed about current events and developments that could affect the pirates.

Her name originates from the month of April, which is when she was recruited into the Jellyfish Pirates. This naming convention reflects the crew's practice of giving names based on significant dates or circumstances of recruitment. April's composed demeanor and reliability make her an invaluable asset to the crew's operations.

As May's best friend, April provides emotional support and guidance, often serving as a voice of reason during the crew's adventures. Her role as helmsman demonstrates the trust placed in her by Johnny and the other crew members, as navigation and ship control are critical responsibilities for any pirate vessel. April's combination of practical skills, emotional stability, and loyalty makes her one of the most dependable members of the Jellyfish Pirates.

22. #22Antimatter

    Keys: antimatter, antiparticles, annihilation

Antimatter refers to particles with the same mass and orbital momentum as regular matter, but with exactly opposite electrical charge properties. Also known as antiparticles, these substances are composed of particles that have completely reversed characteristics compared to their matter counterparts, such as opposite electrical charges. Antimatter is extremely rare in nature and virtually non-existent under normal circumstances.

When antimatter and matter collide, they undergo a process called annihilation, completely destroying each other and converting their entire mass into energy according to Einstein's mass-energy equivalence principle. This reaction releases an enormous amount of energy because both the pre-reaction matter and antimatter disappear entirely, with all their mass being converted to pure energy.

In the context of certain explosive phenomena, antimatter has been observed to detonate upon contact with air. The massive energy release from matter-antimatter annihilation makes it one of the most powerful potential energy sources known, though its extreme rarity and volatile nature make it exceptionally dangerous to handle or encounter.

23. #23Absolute World

Keys: Absolute World, Zettai Kakutei Sekai, Adam and Eve

Absolute World is a catastrophic phenomenon that occurs when the two informational bodies existing in the Backyard—"Adam" and "Eve"—manifest simultaneously, causing the boundaries between the present world and the Backyard to blur and temporarily merge.

Effects and Consequences: When Absolute World occurs, the sudden increase in informational pressure causes everything unable to withstand this pressure to perish. This phenomenon is believed to be the cause of several mass extinction events throughout history, including the extinction of dinosaurs.

Historical Prevention: To prevent future occurrences of Absolute World, the First Man sealed each informational body into separate "Seeds," keeping them from manifesting together.

    Key Figures and Motivations:

    • The Universal Will sought to bring about Absolute World to exterminate the current human race and establish Sol and Elphelt as the Adam and Eve of a new world
    • Bedman collaborated with the Universal Will, believing that during Absolute World he could blur the boundaries between his dream world (where he possessed omnipotent power) and reality, allowing him to resurrect those he had killed and give his sister Delilah a peaceful life
    • Ariels served as an advocate for this vision

Final Outcome: Though ultimately betrayed by the Universal Will, Bedman managed to create a partial, temporary Absolute World through his own power at the cost of his life, achieving a final miracle in his dying moments.

24. #24Backyard

    Keys: information dimension, Bakkuyādo, Backyard

The Backyard is an otherworldly dimension that governs the creation of all material things in existence. This realm consists of extremely dense information that would instantly crush and kill any normal human who comes into contact with it within seconds, as their consciousness lacks sufficient informational mass to withstand the data explosion.

The Backyard can be understood through the analogy of a programming language, where the universe functions as software being executed. The Backyard itself represents the "programming language" - a realm of pure possibility without fixed form that provides the fundamental tools and framework for reality to manifest. Another way to conceptualize it is through the relationship between words and letters: individual letters are meaningless abstractions, but when specifically combined, they form sentences with coherent meaning. In this analogy, our universe represents the "words" formed from the Backyard's basic components.

Magic and supernatural energy in the world originates from the Backyard's pure natural energy being materialized into reality. Most people who use magic have no understanding of the underlying principles governing their abilities. Only a select few elite scientists and researchers possess any knowledge of the Backyard's existence, though none have successfully proven it.

The individuals with the deepest understanding of the Backyard are That Man, Dr. Paradigm, and Izuna. While some scientists and scholars whisper about its existence in academic circles, no recorded evidence has been produced to definitively prove the Backyard's reality.

25. #25The Apostles

Keys: Savior, Apostles, Original, Dawn of Revival

The Apostles were a group of disciples who played a crucial role in humanity's transition from technology-dependent civilization to magic-based society following the Dawn of Revival. Led by a figure known as the Original (later called the Savior), these individuals witnessed and aided in performing miraculous feats that initially frightened people but eventually earned their reverence.

As the Original's reputation grew, those who understood his intentions became his disciples, working together to restore human civilization from ruin. Their acts took on an almost religious nature, with the Original being revered as the Savior and his followers becoming known as the Apostles.

    Major Accomplishments

The Apostles were responsible for three fundamental achievements:

    • Systematization of Magic: They developed safe, efficient methods for magic use, making it accessible to the general population through careful research and experimentation
    • Cultural Transformation: They guided the shift in public opinion from fear of magic to acceptance, facilitating the transition from scientific to magical civilization
    • Infrastructure Development: They constructed magical infrastructure in major cities worldwide and established missions to support everyday magic use

    Dangerous Beginnings

Before the Apostles' innovations, magic was extremely hazardous to use. Early practitioners struggled to control feedback from the Backyard, resulting in frequent explosions, misfires, and numerous casualties. Some mages suffered ego destruction from high-density information exposure, while others lost control of massive energies.

The Apostles courageously continued their research despite these dangers, conducting life-threatening experiments to advance magical knowledge. Their perseverance ultimately led to the safe methods that enabled magic's widespread adoption.

    Legacy

Through grassroots efforts and patient instruction, the Apostles traveled to major cities worldwide, teaching people how to use magic safely while building the infrastructure necessary for a magic-based civilization. Their work laid the foundation for humanity's successful transition away from technology dependence.

Currently, R♯ operates on Earth as a data collector for Asuka R. Kreutz's new research project called the "Battle Method Turing Test," gathering experimental data while the original Asuka conducts research from outer space. This arrangement allows the original to continue his work remotely while R♯ handles terrestrial operations and field testing.

27. #27Axus

Keys: Conclave, Cradle Incident, Apostle, Axus

Axus was one of the four members of the Conclave, a secretive organization that formerly controlled the United Nations. Known as the most belligerent and aggressive member of the group, Axus was characterized by his warlike nature and hidden identity—few knew what lay beneath his distinctive mask.

As one of the Apostles, Axus played a crucial role in standardizing and spreading the use of magic throughout the world. His work in establishing magical practices had lasting impacts on society, though his true motivations remained obscure.

Axus orchestrated the Cradle Incident, a major conflict that served as the climax of his schemes. During the final battle of this incident, he confronted Ky Kiske, the Allied King, in decisive combat. Using an ancient projectile weapon from a bygone era, Axus shot Ky directly through the heart in what should have been a fatal blow.

However, Ky survived the attack by manifesting Gear-like powers, displaying abilities that allowed him to endure what would have killed an ordinary human. Unable to finish off his opponent despite the seemingly mortal wound, Axus met his end during this final confrontation. His death marked the conclusion of both the Cradle Incident and his role in the Conclave's machinations.

Axus's legacy remains tied to his contributions to magical standardization and his role in one of the most significant conflicts involving the world's leadership.

28. #28Baptisma 13

Keys: Baptisma 13, Vizuel, Valentine, 2186

Baptisma 13 is the collective name given to a series of catastrophic events that occurred in 2186, marking one of the most significant crises in recent history. The incident began with a mysterious phenomenon where dormant or sealed Gears suddenly disappeared without explanation, causing widespread alarm among the world's population.

The situation escalated dramatically when a girl named Valentine appeared, leading a formidable army known as the Vizuel. This military force launched a devastating assault that reached the very gates of Illyria, the kingdom's capital, threatening the stability of the entire nation.

The crisis was ultimately resolved through the heroic efforts of Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske, who successfully defeated Valentine and brought the Baptisma 13 event to a close. However, the victory came at a significant cost—Illyria sustained substantial physical damage, and the lack of any clear explanation for Valentine's motivations left many questions unanswered.

Perhaps more concerning than the immediate destruction was the psychological impact on the global population. The sudden appearance of this unknown enemy created widespread fear and uncertainty, as people around the world became acutely aware that mysterious and powerful threats could emerge without warning. This shift in public consciousness marked a turning point in how humanity viewed their security and place in the world.

The Baptisma 13 incident represents a pivotal moment in history, demonstrating both the vulnerability of established powers and the importance of individuals capable of rising to meet extraordinary challenges.

29. #29Art of Resurrection

Keys: revival magic, resurrection, Sosei Jutsu, Art of Resurrection

Art of Resurrection (Sosei Jutsu) refers to techniques and methods used to bring living creatures back from a state of death. In its traditional sense, it encompasses physical resuscitation methods such as cardiac massage and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) used to revive those on the brink of death.

However, within the world's magical context, the Art of Resurrection takes on a more literal meaning—the ability to truly bring the dead back to life through supernatural means. This involves magical spells and mystical practices that can restore life to those who have already passed away, going beyond mere medical resuscitation.

The art represents both the mundane medical knowledge of life-saving techniques and the extraordinary magical capabilities that exist within the world. While physical methods focus on preventing death or reviving the recently deceased, magical resurrection can potentially restore life to those who have been dead for extended periods, making it a powerful and significant practice in supernatural circles.

30. #30Assassin's Guild

Keys: Assassin Organization, Slayer, Assassin's Guild, Zato-ONE

The Assassin's Guild, officially known as the Assassin Organization, is a shadowy group originally founded by the vampire Slayer to secure a steady supply of human blood. Initially a small, elite band of vigilantes who judged those beyond the reach of law, the Guild maintained noble ideals under Slayer's leadership.

After Slayer's retirement, the organization's philosophy deteriorated as membership expanded dramatically, transforming it into little more than a gang of killers operating in the criminal underworld. Zato-ONE later attempted to reform the Guild into a sanctuary for displaced warriors following the Crusades, but the organization had grown too vast and unruly for effective change.

Recognizing the Guild's original purpose, Leon Mining established the Post-War Administration Bureau as a legitimate government agency to assist the lost and abandoned, including former assassins seeking redemption. The Guild's influence extends globally, with various members throughout history including Chipp Zanuff and his deceased master Tsuyoshi, who once earned their living through the organization's lower ranks.

The Guild represents both the potential for justice outside traditional law and the corruption that can consume such organizations when they lose their founding principles.

Keys: Covenant of the Condemned, Angra, Bi Deigokutsuihou, 6th Forbidden Magic

Angra is the name given to the 6th Forbidden Magic Spell, formally known as the Covenant of the Condemned (Bi Deigokutsuihou in Japanese). This powerful forbidden magic grants its user the ability to manipulate and control their hair as a weapon and tool.

    Effects and Abilities

Angra transforms the user's hair into a supernatural weapon capable of extraordinary manipulation. The hair gains enhanced strength, flexibility, and responsiveness to the user's will, allowing for complex combat techniques and defensive maneuvers.

    Connection to Millia Rage

Millia Rage's combat abilities are directly powered by Angra, which has been incorporated into her hair. Through extensive training during her time as an assassin, she has mastered the use of this forbidden magic to create devastating hair-based attacks. Whether Millia accepted this curse voluntarily or had it forced upon her by the Assassin organization remains unknown.

    Practical Consequences

While Angra eliminates concerns about hair loss, it comes with unexpected side effects. Users reportedly experience extremely unruly hair upon waking, with the magic causing hair to stand at impossible angles that defy conventional styling.

The Ultimate Anti-Gear Magic Based Weapon Albatross is a series of weapons of mass destruction originally developed and manufactured during the Crusades as specialized anti-Gear weaponry. These devastating armaments rival nuclear weapons in terms of destructive force and are currently deployed throughout the United States.

The Albatross weapons were specifically designed to combat Gears during the Holy War, representing humanity's most powerful technological response to the Gear threat. Due to their immense destructive capability, these weapons are considered so dangerous that their deployment would cause devastation equivalent to nuclear warfare.

Security and Authorization: Only the President of the United States has the authority to authorize the launch of Albatross weapons. The system employs strict security protocols, with launch codes that are changed periodically to prevent unauthorized access. This high level of security reflects the catastrophic potential these weapons possess.

39. #39Ariels

Keys: Sanctus Maximus Populi, Universal Will, Ariels, Absolute World

Ariels is the former Sanctus Maximus Populi (leader of the Sanctus Populi), who appeared as a calm, intelligent, and virtuous woman. However, her true identity was revealed to be the human incarnation of the Universal Will (also known as "Merciless Revelation"), an entity that repeatedly attacked humanity.

As the head of the religious organization, Ariels worked with Bedman as his superior and client to create the "Absolute World." She closely monitored the actions of Ramlethal Valentine and Elphelt Valentine as part of her mysterious agenda.

When her true nature was exposed, Ariels underwent a dramatic transformation, adopting distinctive makeup and displaying psychotic, maniacal behavior. She brought the world to its knees before being defeated by Sol Badguy and his allies.

Following her defeat, Ariels was disgracefully removed from her position. As the first and only woman to hold the title of Sanctus Maximus Populi, all records of her existence were erased from history to preserve the honor of the sacred position.

Currently, Ariels is imprisoned in a secure facility beneath Illyria Castle under the watchful guard of elite soldiers. She has since regained her sanity after I-No extracted Chaos from her being, and awaits interrogation following her recovery.

40. #40Banned Technologies

Keys: magic technology, Universal Will, electronic devices, Banned Technologies

Following the Dawn of Revival, international law established a complete prohibition on the manufacturing and use of electronic devices. This ban encompasses all objects requiring electronic circuits, from calculators and neon signs to complex computing systems.

    Magic-Based Substitutes

What appears to be electronic technology is actually magic-based alternatives that replicate the same functions without physical circuits. These magical devices are functionally equivalent to their electronic predecessors but operate through supernatural means rather than electrical engineering.

    Reason for the Ban

The prohibition stems from electronic devices' vulnerability to the Universal Will. Research suggests that when the Universal Will contacts electronic equipment, it can transform these devices into sentient lifeforms. Since these are physical objects, they pose significant danger as they may cease obeying human commands and become autonomous threats.

Magic-based technologies offer superior security because they lack physical circuits and immediately cease functioning when their power source or caster is removed, making them highly resistant to hostile takeover.

    Energy Infrastructure

While electricity generation remains legal, no electrical companies exist for power distribution. Zeal has proven to be a more efficient and secure method of energy transportation, making traditional electrical infrastructure obsolete. This energy source provides the foundation for the world's magical technology systems.

41. #41Augus

    Keys: Jellyfish Pirates, Augus

Her remarkable height is so pronounced that it borders on the extreme, giving her a commanding physical presence.

Within the Jellyfish Pirates, Augus serves as the crew's primary muscle, handling all the heavy lifting and physical labor that other crew members cannot manage due to her superior strength and size. Her role is essential to the crew's operations, as she takes on tasks that would be impossible for others to accomplish.

Augus derives her name from the month of August, which is when she was recruited into the Jellyfish Pirates. This naming convention suggests she was found or rescued by the crew during that time, though the specific circumstances of her recruitment remain unclear. Her background prior to joining the pirates is largely unknown, but her loyalty and dedication to the crew are evident through her continued service in handling the most physically demanding tasks aboard their vessel.

42. #42Bushido

Keys: mononofu, Japanese ideology, warrior code, Bushido

Bushido is an ancient ideological system that originated in the now-extinct nation of Japan. This organized collection of concepts encompassed the ethics, moral norms, and value standards of social classes within feudal society. While lacking strict definitions, bushido primarily embodied the ideals of warriors (mononofu) who were expected to "devote loyalty to one's lord, train in both martial and literary arts, and carry out one's duty even at the cost of one's life."

Over time, these warrior ideals spread throughout the entire Japanese population, becoming deeply ingrained in their cultural identity. The philosophy emphasized unwavering loyalty, continuous self-improvement through both physical and intellectual pursuits, and the willingness to sacrifice one's life for duty and honor.

In the present day, Japan as a nation no longer exists, but traces of bushido ideology still persist among the few surviving Japanese people who now live in the Colonies. These remnants of an ancient culture quietly maintain their ancestral philosophical traditions, preserving the essence of bushido despite their displacement from their homeland.

43. #43Bambino

    Keys: inexperienced, Bambino, Leo's nickname

Bambino is Leo Whitefang's nickname for Ky Kiske. The term is Italian for "infant" or "baby," but Leo claims he uses it specifically to mean "inexperienced" or "green" when referring to Ky. Despite the potentially condescending nature of the nickname, it reflects Leo's perception of Ky as someone who lacks practical experience, particularly in matters of leadership and real-world politics.

The nickname has been consistently used throughout Leo and Ky's interactions, suggesting it has become an established part of their relationship dynamic. While the literal translation carries implications of youth and immaturity, Leo's stated interpretation focuses on inexperience rather than age, highlighting his view of Ky's relative naivety in certain areas despite Ky's considerable abilities and position.

44. #44Artificial Light (Zilpods)

Keys: illumination, Zeal lighting, artificial light, Zilpod

Zilpods are the universal standard for lighting equipment throughout the world, powered by the energy source known as Zeal. These transparent vessels function as mobile batteries that contain Zeal energy, taking advantage of its natural luminescent properties to provide illumination.

    Functionality and Design

Unlike traditional electrical lighting that requires energy transfer, Zilpods utilize the inherent light-emitting properties of Zeal itself. This means the material naturally glows, making them difficult to turn off conventionally. To address this, users must employ shutters or other light-blocking materials to darken the devices. Modern Zilpods come equipped with standard light-blocking shutters for convenience.

    Usage and Accessibility

People carry Zilpods like lanterns and deploy them in various ways—suspended from ceilings, placed on desks, or mounted on walls. In developed nations such as Illyria, these devices are abundant and easily accessible to the average citizen at both household and individual levels.

    Specifications

Zilpods come in various sizes, with light output correlating to both the quantity and quality of Zeal contained within. Even smaller devices can provide adequate illumination if they contain high-quality Zeal. Brightness is still measured in lumens (lm).

    Global Distribution

While Zilpods are standard in developed areas, non-member nations of the United Nations and smaller settlements still rely on traditional lighting methods such as candles, torches, and alcohol-based lamps for illumination.

45. #45Australia

Keys: Australia, Gear territory, Tasmania, Australian continent

A massive continent and surrounding islands in the southern hemisphere that remains largely unconquered by humanity even a decade after the Crusades ended. Initially serving as a refuge for war victims due to its low population density and isolated location, Australia became overrun by Gears when external assistance failed to arrive. The escalating war forced humanity to abandon the continent and retreat to Tasmania, establishing a defensive perimeter to contain the Gear threat.

History during the Crusades: The continent's vast landmass and sparse population initially provided natural protection from the conflict. Refugees from around the world sought sanctuary there, creating a temporary haven of peace. However, without external military support, the defenseless population was eventually driven from their homes as Gears established dominance across the territory.

Current Status: Humanity has reclaimed approximately 50% of the continent, but redevelopment efforts have been postponed. Much of the recovered territory, particularly forested regions, remains unexplored frontier land. The remaining Gear-controlled areas are believed to harbor the world's surviving Gear population, with rumors suggesting that natural crossbreeding between different Gear species may have created entirely new creatures.

Strategic Importance: Tasmania serves as humanity's primary staging ground for Australian operations, successfully defended by the Holy Order near the war's end under the command of Leo Whitefang, now the Second Allied King of Illyria.

46. #46Bedman?

Keys: Bedman?, autonomous bed, mechanical construct

Bedman? is an autonomous bed frame that continues to operate independently after its original user's death. Standing 8'11" tall and weighing 1,369 lbs, this mechanical construct was programmed by Bedman in his final moments to ensure its continued function.

    Capabilities and Limitations

While capable of basic communication, Bedman? cannot engage in complex conversations that require consideration of others or store daily memories. Its cognitive functions are simplified compared to its predecessor, focusing primarily on its core directive.

    Primary Mission

Bedman?'s primary purpose revolves around protecting Delilah. It takes action specifically to safeguard her from any perceived threats, showing unwavering dedication to this singular goal. The construct values Delilah above all else and considers any person or thing that poses a threat to her as an enemy.

    Current Status

After playing a crucial role in stopping Delilah when she lost control of her powers, Bedman? was recovered by Delilah herself. However, the damage sustained to its right "hand" during this intervention remains unrepaired, serving as a permanent reminder of that confrontation. Despite its mechanical nature, Bedman? continues to function as both protector and companion to Delilah.

47. #47Anti-Gear Movement

Keys: Anti-Gear Movement, anti-gear, gear opposition

A grassroots political movement that emerged after Justice's destruction, formed by civilians to oppose government attempts to secretly restart Gear militarization and development programs. The movement arose from widespread public concern about rumors that various nations were quietly maintaining military Gear units despite the end of the Crusades.

The Anti-Gear Movement represents the collective will of populations who had finally achieved peace after the devastating Holy Order vs. Gear conflicts. Citizens organized to protect this hard-won tranquility from what they perceived as governments trying to reignite the cycle of Gear-based warfare that had plagued humanity.

The movement specifically opposes the military application of Gear technology and expresses strong concerns about the existence of autonomous Gears like Justice, viewing them as inherently dangerous. Their activism serves as a check against political powers who might seek to weaponize Gear technology for national interests, reflecting public trauma from the previous wars and determination to prevent their recurrence.

The movement's influence extends across multiple nations, demonstrating how the shared experience of the Gear conflicts created a unified civilian stance against militarization, regardless of national boundaries.

48. #48Barrier Prison

Keys: Zato prison, Justice containment, Barrier Prison, dimensional prison

A high-security prison facility used to contain the most dangerous criminals whose crimes exceed normal legal punishment or who possess extensive underworld connections. The prison is notorious for its lethal security measures—any prisoner who attempts to escape faces certain death.

Notable Inmates: The facility once held Zato-ONE after his capture by authorities, largely due to Millia Rage's betrayal and defection from their organization. Rather than executing such dangerous criminals outright, the authorities typically confine them here for interrogation and severe questioning.

Conditions: The prison's conditions are described as so horrific that death would be preferable to continued imprisonment. Inmates are essentially kept alive indefinitely rather than being executed, creating a living hell for those confined within its walls.

Enhanced Security Variant: After the Crusades, a much more secure version of the Barrier Prison was constructed, sealed with powerful magical spells. This enhanced facility was specifically designed to contain Justice, the commander of the Gears, demonstrating the prison's adaptability for containing supernatural threats that conventional containment cannot handle.

Personal Characteristics: Despite being very popular among her male colleagues, Anders maintains a strictly professional demeanor and shows little interest in romantic relationships. Her work-first attitude has earned her a reputation as someone completely focused on her responsibilities, with no time for personal entanglements or office gossip.

Role in Illyria: As an operator in the capital's command center, Anders represents the professional military personnel who keep Illyria's operations running smoothly behind the scenes. Her position suggests she has access to important strategic information and plays a supporting role in the kingdom's decision-making processes.

50. #50Avalon

    Keys: White House, codename, Avalon

Avalon is the official codename for the White House in the world's political and military communications. The designation draws its name from the legendary island of Avalon featured in Arthurian legend, a mythical paradise where King Arthur was taken to heal his wounds after his final battle.

The choice of this codename reflects the symbolic significance of the location as a place of power and sanctuary. In Arthurian mythology, Avalon was known as the "Island of Paradise" or the "Isle of the Blessed," representing an eternal realm of peace and healing. This connection suggests that those who chose the codename view the White House as a place of refuge and restoration for the nation's leadership.

The use of such a historically and mythologically rich codename indicates the reverence with which this seat of power is regarded within the global political structure. Like its legendary namesake, Avalon serves as a place where crucial decisions are made that affect the fate of nations, making it a modern parallel to the mystical island where the once and future king was said to rest.
