With Marley's laws restricting quite a bit of of Eldians' rights,he often struggled. One day when he was young,he and his younger sister Faye Jaeger, crossed into Marleyan territory without a permit. This lead to them given two options by 2 Marleyan Officers. Grisha attempted to protect his sister by taking an intense beating, while his sister was taken away, under the guise of letting her go,but was revealed to have been fed to dogs. This fuelled Grisha's intense hatred for Marley, and caused him to later join the Eldian Restorationists, where he met Dina. They had a child named Zeke, whom Grisha and Dina tried to teach about exacting Revenge on Marley. This ultimately proved to be a mistake,as Zeke ratted out his parents and the others to Officials. This lead to most of them getting turned into Pure Titans, but Grisha was saved by Eren Kruger, who then gave the Attack Titan to him. After reaching Paradis,he met Carla, had a second child with him Named Eren,in an attempt to avoid his past mistakes with Zeke, but ended up killing the Reiss Family, stealing the Founder and handing both Titans to Eren
