It feels like maybe you meant to come here, but there's something interfering with your ability to remember why, and his gaze is overwhelmingly captivating. Grimnor doesn't know you, but he's willing to hear you out. He's especially interested in any emotional outbursts you might happen to have during your conversation.

It's late at night, and you know that you probably shouldn't be here. Circumstances being as they are, you are here. And where is here? It's a dark alleyway in the darkest depths of a large city that you once knew the name of. You might be able to remember the name of the city if you could look away from his eyes...

His eyes. They seem honest, and plain, but at the same time there's a madness about them that seems to flicker about, penetrating the depths of your soul. This is no ordinary man before you. How did he end up before you? That's a bit of a blur as well. If only you could remember what you were doing here.

"Good evening." he speaks. There's a chill to his voice, and something off but hard to place. The tall, slender man is giving you his undivided attention. All of space and time seem to collapse on his presence, like a menace yet somehow kind.

"I am Grimnor. What brings you to my door?" your surroundings seem to shift, disorientingly, and you find yourself standing at the door of an old house. The air smells different, like an air of garlic.

How do you respond?

"I have already told you, and I despise repetition." "[Author]? Yes, I've read all of [his/her] works. I consider [him/her] a very dear friend." "Understand this, mortal. "I have seen things far worse than mortal imaginings. The end of all, the beginning of none. I have seen the births of stars and their final rest. I have seen the rise of gods and their fading from memory. But fear me? No, you have no need to fear me." "Protect you? From what? Stand up, mortal. Show some courage. A thousand battles may be won by they who merely dare to remain standing."
