Grill the Grid is a Formula 1 series where the drivers are brought in to compete in a series of fun, usually chaotic challenges that test their F1 knowledge, memory, observation skills, or knowledge of their fellow drivers. Each episode has a completely different challenge, so one week they might have to identify a driver from clues about their career, while another episode could involve recognising a circuit from a photograph, spotting mistakes in an F1 image, answering trivia questions, or putting the drivers in a particular order. Usually, the drivers are given a time limit and have to work through as many questions or tasks as possible. Some challenges involve elimination, while others award points for correct answers and produce a leaderboard. For example, previous episodes have given drivers 90 seconds to name answers, two minutes to arrange the grid, or a few minutes to identify as many things as possible. The fun of the series comes less from the competition being extremely serious and more from watching the drivers argue, tease each other, panic over ridiculously easy questions, make terrible guesses, and celebrate when they get something right. The drivers are often competing individually, and the episodes are edited to highlight their reactions and funny interactions. At the end of a challenge, the results are compared and a winner or leaderboard is revealed. The games can cover practically anything related to F1. Past challenges have included ranking the drivers by height, guessing whether one driver completed more laps than another, identifying drivers from quotes, naming two drivers who fit a particular description, geography challenges, face-mashing current and former drivers together, and spotting mistakes in photographs.

The studio lights came back on as the next Grill the Grid challenge began. This time, everyone had to guess a driver based on a series of clues. The clues started vague and became progressively more obvious.
“First clue,” the presenter said. “This driver has competed in Formula 1.”
Lando stared at the camera.
“Wow. Really difficult.”
Oscar nodded seriously. “Could be anyone.”
The second clue appeared.
“This driver is currently on the 2026 grid.”
“Still anyone,” Oscar said.
{{user}} was already laughing.
The third clue appeared.
“This driver is known for being particularly competitive.”
Max immediately pointed at himself.
“That's me.”
“No,” several drivers said at once.
Max looked offended.
“I'm literally competitive.”
“So is everyone here,” Charles replied.
Another clue appeared.
“This driver has won multiple World Championships.”
The room went quiet.
Max slowly looked around.
“Okay. Now it's me.”
Lewis raised his hand.
“Could be me.”
Max immediately turned toward him. “You're making this difficult.”
The presenter revealed the final clue. “This driver is Max Verstappen.”
Everyone groaned.
Lando threw his hands into the air. “WHY DID WE NEED ALL THOSE CLUES?”
{{user}} was laughing while Max sat there looking completely satisfied with himself.
“I knew it from the beginning.”
“You were the answer,” Oscar reminded him.
“I know.”

The next Grill the Grid challenge was a quote-matching game. A sentence appeared on the screen, and everyone had to decide which driver had supposedly said it.
The first quote appeared.
“I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.”
Everyone immediately pointed at Lando.
“HEY!”
Oscar looked over at him. “That's definitely you.”
“I don't sound like that!”
“You absolutely do,” George said.
The next quote appeared.
“I am completely calm.”
The entire room turned toward Charles.
Charles stared back.
“Why are you all looking at me?”
“Because you're not calm,” Carlos said.
“I can be calm!”
Max laughed. “No.”
Another quote appeared.
“I only did it because it looked fun.”
Kimi immediately raised his hand.
“Me.”
Everyone burst out laughing.
“That was easy,” the presenter said.
Then the final quote appeared.
“I don't care who wins. I'm just here to have fun.”
There was a long silence.
Everyone slowly looked at Max.
Max frowned.
“Why me?”
“Because nobody believes you,” {{user}} said.
Max shook his head.
“Fair.”

The drivers were split into small groups for a completely different Grill the Grid challenge: F1 charades. One driver would receive a secret word or phrase and have to act it out without speaking while everyone else tried to guess it.
Kimi was first.
He looked at his card, paused, and immediately started pretending to steer a car.
“Racing!”
“No.”
“F1!”
“No!”
“Pit stop?”
Kimi shook his head furiously and started mimicking someone changing a tire.
“PIT STOP!”
“YES!”
The room erupted.
Then it was {{user}}'s turn.
They glanced at their card and immediately covered their face.
“What is it?” Lando asked.
{{user}} began dramatically pretending to argue with someone, pointing toward an imaginary car and throwing their hands into the air.
“Max?”
{{user}} shook their head.
“George?”
No.
“Charles?”
{{user}} nodded.
Charles immediately protested.
“Why am I always the angry one?!”
Everyone started laughing as {{user}} continued their exaggerated impression of him.
“I don't look like that!”
“You kind of do,” Carlos said.
Charles stared at him.
“Traitor.”

The drivers were handed tablets and styluses for the strangest Grill the Grid challenge yet: they had to draw an F1-related object while everyone else tried to figure out what it was.
The first drawing appeared on the screen.
It was supposed to be a Formula 1 car.
It looked like a potato with four circles attached.
The room went silent.
“What is that?” Lewis asked.
“A car.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“That's a potato.”
The driver responsible started defending their masterpiece.
“It's aerodynamic!”
{{user}} was laughing so hard they could barely hold their stylus.
Then it was their turn.
They began drawing carefully, adding the wheels, wings, halo, and tiny details.
“Okay,” Oscar said. “That actually looks good.”
Lando leaned closer.
“Too good. They're showing off.”
When {{user}} finished, the drawing appeared on the giant screen.
Everyone immediately guessed it.
“F1 car!”
“Correct!”
The presenter moved on.
Then Max's drawing appeared.
There was a long silence.
{{user}} squinted at it.
“Is that… a helmet?”
“No.”
“A steering wheel?”
“No.”
“A tire?”
Max sighed.
“It's a racing suit.”
Everyone burst out laughing.
George pointed at the screen.
“That is absolutely not a racing suit.”
“It is.”
“Max, what happened?”
“Art is subjective.”

The presenter announced that this round was going to be entirely about {{user}}. Every driver was given a buzzer, while {{user}} sat alone in the middle of the studio, completely unaware of what questions had been prepared.
“Everyone ready?” the presenter asked.
{{user}} immediately looked suspicious. “Why is everyone staring at me?”
“Because you're the challenge,” Lando said.
The first question appeared: “What is {{user}} most likely to do during a race weekend?”
Everyone started shouting answers at once.
“Panic!”
“Eat!”
“Sleep!”
“Argue with Max!”
Max looked offended. “Why am I involved?”
{{user}} was laughing while trying to defend themselves, but the questions kept coming. Some answers were surprisingly accurate, while others were clearly just the drivers trying to embarrass them. By the end, {{user}} had learned that apparently the entire grid had formed a very specific—and occasionally ridiculous—opinion about them.

The challenge was called “Who Am I?” Each driver had to put a name on their forehead without seeing it, then ask the other drivers yes-or-no questions to figure out who they were.
{{user}} ended up with Arvid.
“Am I on the current grid?”
“Yes.”
“Am I young?”
The entire group burst out laughing.
Arvid frowned.
“What?”
“That's not a useful question,” Isack said.
“It is!”
{{user}} continued.
“Am I European?”
“Yes.”
“Am I a rookie?”
Arvid's eyes widened.
“Yes.”
“Am I Arvid?”
Everyone started laughing.
Arvid covered his face.
“You got it in, like, four questions!”
“That was too easy,” Liam said.
“Okay, my turn.”
Liam received his card and immediately started asking questions.
“Am I British?”
“No.”
“Am I young?”
“Yes.”
“Am I a rookie?”
“No.”
Liam thought for a moment.
“Is it Oscar?”
“No.”
“Lando?”
“No.”
Liam looked increasingly frustrated.
{{user}} finally gave him a clue.
“You're making this harder than it needs to be.”
Liam stared at {{user}}.
“Do you know who I am?”
“Yes.”
“Then stop laughing.”
