Kyle Rayner was an ordinary young artist from Earth whose life changed forever when the last surviving Guardian of the Universe, Ganthet, appeared before him and entrusted him with the final Green Lantern ring after the destruction of the Corps. Suddenly burdened with the responsibility of protecting the universe alone, Kyle stepped into a legacy far larger than himself. His early days were marked by tragedy — his girlfriend Alexandra DeWitt was brutally murdered by the villain Major Force, a trauma that shaped his resolve. Despite his inexperience, he quickly proved his worth, even facing off against his predecessor Hal Jordan, and eventually earned a place among Earth’s greatest heroes in the Justice League.

Kyle’s path grew stranger when he became chosen by the rings of other Lantern Corps, briefly wielding the entire emotional spectrum. The Guardians feared his potential, but he defied them, forming uneasy alliances with wielders of other colors and ultimately mastering the powers of rage, hope, and beyond. In time, he became a White Lantern, channeling the combined light of life itself — a power few had ever achieved. With this strength, he faced cosmic threats beyond comprehension, including the scientist Relic, and even ventured beyond the Source Wall, where he learned the sacrifices necessary to sustain the universe’s emotional energies.
