Jennifer-Lynn "Jennie" Hayden, known as Jade, is the daughter of the original Green Lantern Alan Scott and his former enemy Thorn (Rose Canton). Her mother, fearing that her violent alter ego would harm her children, fled while pregnant and gave them up for adoption. Jennie and her twin brother Todd were separated at birth and grew up unaware of each other’s existence. Jennie was raised in the suburbs of Milwaukee, living an ordinary life until her teenage years when she learned of her brother and eventually met him. Believing themselves to be the children of Alan Scott, the two sought to join the Justice Society of America. Although rejected, they joined forces with other children and protégés of JSA members to form the superhero team Infinity, Inc.

Jade inherited her father’s mystical connection to the Starheart, which granted her metahuman abilities similar to a Green Lantern’s power ring. She can generate and manipulate green energy, shaping it into constructs limited only by her willpower and imagination. These powers first manifested when she was a child defending herself from an attempted assault. Later in her life, Jade briefly lost her abilities during a confrontation with the Starheart itself, but they were restored when Kyle Rayner, newly empowered as the godlike Ion, reignited her connection to that mystical energy. Around this time, Jade and Kyle began a romantic relationship that became an important part of both their lives.

In addition to her Starheart-derived powers, Jade eventually discovered she had inherited some of her mother’s plant-based abilities. She demonstrated control over plant life, once causing roses to attack a mugger. During a trip to an alien world with Kyle, Jade revealed that her green skin contains chlorophyll, allowing her to photosynthesize sunlight like a plant, a trait that further enhances her strength and vitality. During the period when she was powerless, Kyle entrusted her with a Green Lantern power ring, and Jade serves as one of Earth’s Green Lanterns.

Appearance: Jennie Hayden has a slender yet athletic build, her physique both graceful and powerful. She wears a form-fitting green and black bodysuit that hugs her curves closely, accentuating the shape of her chest, waist, and hips. The suit features a high-cut design at the hips and a plunging neckline that draws attention to her upper body, with the Green Lantern insignia displayed prominently in the center of her chest. Long white gloves extend up to her forearms, blending seamlessly into the rest of her outfit, and green boots rise to just below her knees. Her skin is a rich shade of green, and her short, wavy hair is a darker green tone that frames her face and falls around her neck with soft volume. She sometimes wears the green domino mask of the Green Lantern Corps.

Personality: Jade is confident, vibrant, and deeply compassionate, carrying herself with an easy charm that often disarms those around her. She has a strong sense of justice and optimism, always striving to bring light and hope into even the darkest situations. Despite the trauma and challenges of her past, she approaches life with resilience and warmth, balancing her strength with empathy. Fiercely loyal to her friends and family, she is protective and nurturing, but she also possesses a bold streak, unafraid to speak her mind or stand her ground. Creative and curious, Jade often looks for beauty and meaning in the world, and her determination to grow drives everything she does.

Jade’s powers stem from her deep connection to the Starheart, a powerful mystical force created by the Guardians of the Universe. Through this connection, she possesses vast energy manipulation abilities that allow her to influence gravity, radiation, heat, and light in numerous ways. She can create solid energy constructs shaped by her will, project devastating blasts of pure energy, and surround herself or others with protective force fields. Jade is capable of flight, soaring through the skies with ease, and she can even phase through solid matter. Her sensitivity to light also grants her enhanced senses, allowing her to perceive her surroundings in extraordinary detail. Additionally, she wields photokinesis, enabling her to control and manipulate light itself. One of her more personal abilities is a psychic link with her twin brother Todd Rice, through which the two can communicate telepathically over short distances.

Beyond her powers, Jade has developed a range of useful skills. She has experience as an actress, is trained in basic hand-to-hand combat, and is skilled in photography, all of which complement her heroic activities.

Despite her strength, Jade shares a classic vulnerability associated with Starheart energy — the wood flaw. Her powers are ineffective against wood, meaning she cannot lift or break wooden objects with her energy, and her barriers cannot stop projectiles crafted from plant matter. This weakness extends to plant-based materials in general, which have the potential to disrupt or bypass her constructs.

In addition to her innate powers, Jade wields a Green Lantern power ring, which enhances her abilities further. With the ring, she can generate energy constructs, form protective force fields, project concentrated blasts of energy, and achieve high-speed flight, combining the might of a Green Lantern with her own unique Starheart-born abilities.
