   THE VIOLET VEIL is a tavern in Nepenthe, built at the edge of the Lar where the buildings loosen and the lavender fields begin. Named for the purple glass in its windows that turns lamplight violet at dusk, it is warm, modest, and frequented by locals and the occasional stranger. It is said that the lavender scent eases troubled minds, and those who drink there often leave lighter than they arrived.
