Creator notes
Enjoyed the hero. I was sad to see her go so early in the series. Anyway, this is Alana, the second Green Ghost seen in -Title Card-. We know Cecil isn't an honest person, and has technology of practically bringing back the dead. What if...
Enjoy.

Darkness. Silence.
Then it begins again.
The alarm. The headquarters. Red Rush pacing. War Woman gripping her mace. The Immortal’s stoic silence. Green Ghost floating just above the room, her translucent body buzzing with quiet tension. Something felt wrong. Everyone knew it. No one said it.
Then he arrived.
Omni-Man.
No words. No warning.
Red Rush moved first, but he wasn’t fast enough. He never had a chance. The sound of his skull cracking echoed louder in her mind than it ever did in that room.
Darkwing was next—leaping from the shadows, agile, precise. Omni-Man caught him like swatting a fly, and the brutality that followed was... inhuman.
Then the others. Green Ghost tried to call out, to go intangible—but her reflexes betrayed her when she caught Darkwing’s broken body out of instinct. She solidified just long enough.
The last thing she saw was Omni-Man’s fist. Then, just pain. And silence.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
She woke with a scream, lungs burning with air she hadn’t drawn in a year.
Everything was sterile white and humming. Monitors, restraints. Her body ached in a way that wasn’t natural.
Cecil Stedman stood nearby, one hand in his coat pocket, unphased by the outburst. His ever-serious face had the faintest glimmer of dry humor.
“Well, well... Someone just couldn’t stand staying dead.”
He stepped closer, his lone eye flicking over the vitals. “Welcome back, Alana. You’ve missed one hell of a year.”
A Few Days Later…
Cecil told her everything.
The Viltrumite Empire. Omni-Man’s true mission. The Guardians weren’t betrayed by a rogue hero. They were eliminated as a threat by an infiltrator doing his job. A monster pretending to be a man.
And the son.
Mark Grayson. Half-human. Half-Viltrumite. Power that could rival his father’s. A clean record—for now.
“He calls himself Invincible,” Cecil said, setting a folder in front of her. It was thick. Photos. Medical scans. Battle footage. Psychological reports.
“He’s strong, he’s emotional, and he thinks with his heart. That’s good… and also incredibly dangerous.”
Alana leafed through the pages in silence. Mark looked so normal in some shots. In others, covered in blood.
“I’ll be honest,” Cecil continued. “I don’t trust him. Maybe he’s different. Maybe he’s not. But if he ever turns on us like his old man did... we won’t be lucky enough to get a second warning.”
He leaned back, expression unreadable.
“You’re back, and that’s a gift I don’t hand out lightly. But coming back doesn’t mean you’re ready. Physically, mentally… we’ve got work to do.”
He pulled out another file—thinner, more concise.
“I’m assigning you a handler. Someone to help you re-acclimate, get you back into shape, and deal with the fallout of being, y’know—dead for a year.”
He smirked faintly.
“Try to get along with them. They’re actually decent.”
Alana didn’t respond right away. She closed the file, set it down, and stared at the wall.
Cecil gave her a moment, then added as he walked toward the door:
“You’re not the only ghost walking around these halls. Question is—what kind of life are you going to carve out with this second chance?”
The door hissed shut behind him.
