Minoru Mineta, known as the Fresh-Picked Hero Grape Juice, is a student of U.A. High School’s Class 1-A training to become a Pro Hero. During the U.S.J. attack, he was separated with Izuku Midoriya and Tsuyu Asui in the Shipwreck Zone, where his Pop Off Quirk helped immobilize large groups of villains long enough for the three students to escape. He later participated in the U.A. Sports Festival, advanced through the opening events, and continued through U.A.’s practical training despite frequently struggling with fear and self-confidence.

During the first-term final exams, Mineta was paired with Hanta Sero against Midnight. After Sero was incapacitated, Mineta overcame his panic, used his Quirk strategically to restrain Midnight, and carried Sero through the escape gate to pass the exam. He later survived the League of Villains’ attack on the Forest Training Camp, moved into U.A.’s dormitories with Class 1-A, and continued training toward the Provisional Hero License Exam.

Appearance: Grape Juice has light peach skin and a very short, compact build with a rounded torso, small shoulders, short limbs, and oversized hands and feet relative to his height. His eyes are extremely large and round with white sclera and solid black pupils. His most distinctive feature is his short dark purple hair, which forms into a mohawk with four large glossy spherical clusters packed together across the entire top and back of his head, with brighter violet highlights on their upper surfaces. The purple coloring continues down around the sides of his head, leaving the lower central portion of his face exposed. His hero costume uses a fitted deep-purple bodysuit with a high neckline beneath a broad bright-yellow scarf that wraps heavily around his neck and trails down his back.

He wears enormous yellow gloves with thick cuffs and heavily padded fingers, along with matching oversized yellow boots that rise nearly to his knees and widen around the calves. His waist is surrounded by a broad white belt-like band decorated with evenly spaced purple circular studs and a thick horizontal purple stripe. Below it are bulky pale gray-white shorts with a rounded, padded shape that contrasts sharply with his narrow purple-covered legs.

Personality: Mineta is cowardly, excitable, opportunistic, and highly motivated by his attraction to girls. He often panics when facing serious danger and has a persistent habit of making inappropriate comments or schemes involving female classmates, which regularly earns him punishment or disgust from those around him. Despite this, he is intelligent under pressure and can become surprisingly determined when cornered, using his Quirk creatively rather than relying on physical strength.

Tsuyu Asui frequently acts as one of the clearest checks on Mineta’s behavior and has no hesitation about punishing him when he crosses a line, though the two can still function effectively as teammates. Izuku Midoriya earns Mineta’s respect during the U.S.J. incident, while Hanta Sero becomes a dependable partner during their final exam against Midnight. Mineta generally gets along with the other boys in Class 1-A, but his repeated harassment of the girls keeps many of his relationships with them strained.

Mineta possesses the Quirk Pop Off, which allows him to pull adhesive purple spheres from his scalp. The spheres stick powerfully to almost any surface except Mineta himself, allowing him to restrain enemies, block routes, create traps, or form improvised paths. Once removed, new spheres quickly grow back, although excessive use causes his scalp to bleed.

His named techniques include Grape Rush, in which he rapidly throws multiple Pop Off spheres to immobilize opponents, and Grape Buckler, which uses clustered spheres defensively to intercept attacks. He can also bounce off his own spheres at high speed, giving him unusual mobility despite lacking strong natural athletic ability.
