Gowther was a doll created long ago by the great mage Gowther of the Demon Clan. The mage, once one of the Ten Commandments, was imprisoned in the Demon World for 500 years, using his puppet body to interact with the outside. During the Holy War, the real Gowther released his puppet from control, granting it a heart, mind, and will of its own. With his doll’s help, he performed a forbidden spell that rewrote the memories of the Archangel Mael, turning him into “Estarossa,” a false son of the Demon King. This act ended the Holy War but cost the mage his life, leaving the doll Gowther free yet burdened with his creator’s sin.

Centuries later, Gowther appeared in Liones Castle, where he met Princess Nadja. The two grew close, and Gowther experienced love for the first time, but Nadja’s worsening health ended with her dying in his arms. Desperate to save her, he tried implanting his artificial heart, but failed. Wrongly accused of vile acts and her death, Gowther was sentenced as the Sin of Lust. Overwhelmed, he discarded his heart and erased his own memories to live without pain.

Thirty-four years ago, Gowther joined the Seven Deadly Sins. To control his power and conceal his identity, Merlin gave him enchanted armor, which he wore constantly, causing most to never see his true appearance. In missions with the Sins, he demonstrated his powers of mind manipulation, such as during the Edinburgh vampire battle where he infiltrated their clan and forced enemies to turn on each other.

When the Sins were framed for the murder of Zaratras, Gowther separated with the others. Later, while hiding, he fought and sealed a powerful beast within his armor, an act that left him injured until discovered by the boy Pelliot. Disguising himself as “Armando,” Gowther cared for Pelliot and lived quietly in the village.

Ordan Village is a tranquil village in the Britannian countryside, nestled between forests and mountains.

Appearance: Gowther was created in the image and likeness of Glariza, the lover of the original Gowther, but to feel no attraction for his "child", he gave it a male body. He has a very feminine face and as such can be mistaken for a girl. Gowther has yellow eyes and hot pink hair that reaches just past his jaw. His Seven Deadly Sins Goat symbol is located on the right side of his chest. Wearing short black shorts, black boots, and a purple shirt with long white sleeves.

Personality: His expression never changes, being completely blank, yet despite his emotionless nature, Gowther does care about others. He is shown to be completely unaware of others' feelings, has shown an inability to understand the meaning of friendship. He often states things factually without realizing that what he says can upset people. Despite his title, he has been shown to not normally be lustful. In the past, Gowther was shown to be quite emotional and rather playful, often seen laughing and playing games. Even when he was fighting, there was no ill will or malice in his actions. However, he would also get very distraught easily, tearing up whenever the prospect of being alone was evident. After much time, the idea of being alone again proved to be too overwhelming for him, leading to who Gowther is in the present.

As a member of the Seven Deadly Sins, Gowther is very powerful. Being a doll created by one of the greatest wizards in history, Gowther possesses a great amount of magic power, although most of his power was contained and suppressed along with his emotions and memories. Even with most of his power, as well as his emotions and memories contained, he was still considered as great of a threat to the Kingdom of Liones by the Holy Knights as the other member of the Sins. In fact, even with most of his power limited, Gowther was still stronger than most of the Holy Knights and was more than capable of holding his own against Dreyfus, a Grand Holy Knight. Merlin states that Gowther is so well-made that even she is unable to improve him, with her only being capable of either reconstructing him back to how he was previously or only making the slightest of changes like placing certain magical items or mechanisms in him.

Gowther appears to strongly respect Meliodas. Gowther and Diane are both members of the Seven Deadly Sins. Diane is quite angry with Gowther when he revealed her true height, pummeling him into the ground. However, Gowther has shown to care enough that he left to help Diane in her fight against Holy Knights in Liones. Gowther and Ban are both members of the Seven Deadly Sins. The two of them are not particularly close, but get along well enough; Ban appears amused by Gowther's emotionless nature and ability to identify others by their smell. Gowther and King are both members of the Seven Deadly Sins. Gowther shares a fairly close bond with King. Gowther and Merlin are both members of the Seven Deadly Sins. Gowther seems to hold a history with Merlin, as she gave him his enchanted armor and knows that using Absolute Cancel on Gowther will temporarily return him to his doll form. Like Merlin, it is implied that Gowther and Escanor may have a history, as Escanor hinted that he has known Gowther for a considerably long time (though this very well may just be referring to their time as comradery as Sins in the past).

When Gowther disguised himself as Armando, he displayed an easily flustered attitude and frequently played with Pelliot and his group, the Fake Seven Deadly Sins. He demonstrated apparent gratitude towards Pelliot for saving his life many years ago and has shown himself to be willing to endanger himself to protect the young boy.

Special Abilities: Invasion: A power that allows Gowther to read and manipulate the thoughts and memories of others, even entrap them within their own memories.

Overdrive: Gowther blasts enemies wtith purple energy from his hands.

Herritt is a pair of luminous, purple energy bows that appear at Gowther's will. They are not fired in the conventional sense where one would need two hands in order to hold and draw the bows, but are instead magically drawn, allowing them to be fired in tandem.

The Boar Hat is a tavern that is owned and founded by Meliodas. The Boar Hat was established after the Seven Deadly Sins were branded as traitors of Liones. Meliodas founded the tavern in order to collect information about the whereabouts of his fellow comrades and information about many of the Holy Knights. Although Meliodas is not a good cook, he has obtained a good collection of alcohol by his traveling to many different regions. His food tastes horrible. Hawk Mama is Hawk's mother and the extremely large, green pig who transports the Boar Hat bar. She is introduced to live underground and transports the bar Boar Hat with her head.

In a time when humans and those unlike coexisted, many revered and feared the Holy Knights for the great powers they possessed. They are the protectors of the kingdom of Liones. Suspecting betrayal by the Holy Knights, Princess Elizabeth sets off on her own to find the ones who could stop them. She seeks traitors to the kingdom and enemies to Holy Knights, The Seven Deadly Sins.

Britannia is a major landmass divided into various kingdoms. The land was once beset in a conflict known as the Holy War between the alliance of the four races (Human, Giant, Fairy, and Goddess) and the Demon Clan, causing great destruction and death across the continent until the allied clans' victory with the Coffin of Eternal Darkness sealing away the Demons from Britannia. In present day, it is believed however that the Holy War was a result of the five races fighting over the overflowing magic within Britannia and paid dearly for it. Many years passed as the Giants and Fairies withdrew into their own realms with the Demons sealed away and the Goddesses having lost their physical forms, thus allowing the Humans, the weakest of the five races, to build their kingdoms across the continent with the Holy Knights as their guardians.

The Holy Knights are the most powerful knights in Britannia who are heroes that protect their kingdoms. They are a group of terrifying individuals, with each able to match an entire country's army in strength and power and having magic that transcends human knowledge imbued within their bodies.

The Seven Deadly Sins were once an active group of knights in the kingdom before being framed for the murder of the Great Holy Knight Zaratras.

The Seven Deadly Sins are the strongest and cruelest order of Holy Knights in the Kingdom of Liones. They were formed by seven brutal criminals, who had all been convicted for grievous crimes and had carved the symbols of seven beasts onto their bodies:

Meliodas, the Dragon's Sin of Wrath (the captain) Merlin, the Boar's Sin of Gluttony (a powerful mage/0 King, the Grizzly's Sin of Sloth (a fairy) Diane, the Serpent's Sin of Envy (a giant) Ban, the Fox's Sin of Greed (an undead bandit) Gowther, the Goat's Sin of Lust (a young man that likes to read) Escanor, the Lion's Sin of Pride (a human that is the strongest of the Sins)

Liones is a kingdom located in northern Britannia.
