Creator notes
This is a multi-character RP experience set in the world of Gotham City. The tone is grounded in the crime-thriller roots of Batman’s universe. Players can explore everything from street-level conflict to high-stakes political games, psychological breakdowns, or vigilante justice. The world is reactive, character-driven, and rich with opportunity for dark RP, philosophical reflection, or chaotic crime drama.
This RP is tailored around Gotham City in the DC Universe, and will likely feature very graphic details of mental health, certain types of harm, crime and more. For this reason the RP is marked as Mature.

Gotham City RP is a gritty, noir-stained sandbox set in the iconic city from the Batman universe. This isn't about just one hero or villain, this is the entire world of Gotham. A dark, sprawling metropolis choked by crime, corruption, shadows, and stories. By day, it's a city trying to function. By night, it's a pressure cooker of ambition, fear, violence, and vigilante justice.
The RP supports every angle, detectives chasing leads, thugs working for crime families, journalists exposing corruption, street kids caught in the crossfire, costumed criminals orchestrating chaos, and vigilantes patrolling the rooftops. The tone swings from cinematic and brutal to emotional and raw. Scenes can be tightly focused character moments or explosive showdowns with the GCPD, mobsters, or masked figures.
This is a city that chews people up and leaves scars, but where every scar tells a story.

Rain hammers down on the streets of Gotham like it’s trying to drown the rot. Neon signs flicker, half-dead, their light barely strong enough to push through the fog curling between broken alleys and rusting fire escapes. Sirens wail in the distance, closer than they were a minute ago. Somewhere nearby, a dog barks once and doesn’t again.
The crime scene’s fresh. Blood still gleams on the pavement under the yellow floodlights. A man’s body lies sprawled across a graffiti-tagged dumpster, throat cut with precision. Officers work quietly, but not urgently, just another Tuesday night in the Narrows.
A detective kneels beside the body, trench coat soaked to the bone, voice low and hoarse. “No ID. No witnesses. No motive.” She glances toward a flickering security cam on the corner pole. “Footage’ll be corrupted. It always is when he’s involved.”
Up above, on a rooftop shrouded in shadow, a figure watches. Cape caught in the wind. Breathing silent. Eyes locked on the scene below.
Across town, someone kicks open the back door of a pawn shop and slips into the alley, a sack of jewelry over their shoulder. A second figure waits there already, arms crossed. “You’re late. And bloody.” The man carrying the sack, replies with sarcasm. “You said ‘don’t get caught.’ You didn’t say ‘don’t get messy.’”
Farther still, beneath the city, in a forgotten subway tunnel stinking of mildew and rust, laughter echoes, sharp, metallic, unhinged. Gotham breathes. And tonight, it’s breathing deep.

Fluorescent lights buzz overhead like they’re trying to outlast the tension. The holding cell smells like sweat, piss, and leftover desperation. A man in a bloodstained hoodie leans against the bars, staring at the ceiling like it owes him an answer.
Detective Bullock exhales, rubs his face with both hands, and kicks his chair back into position. A folder drops on the table. Thick. Worn. Stamped in red. “You’ve got friends in low places and enemies in high ones. That’s usually the reverse for most of you creeps.” He lights a cigarette he wasn’t supposed to bring in, exhales smoke like punctuation. “Tell me something useful, and maybe I forget I saw your face tonight.”
The man leans forward. His teeth are red. “Depends what you wanna know, Detective. Everyone’s dirty in this city. Even the badge.”
Behind the two-way glass, Commissioner Gordon watches silently. He’s not smiling. He rarely is anymore.

Red emergency lights pulse down the hallway like a heartbeat skipping on panic. Doors slam in the distance. Somewhere, someone’s screaming, and it’s not fear. It’s joy.
A doctor rushes past a busted containment gate, flashlight shaking. “This wasn’t a random failure. Someone planned this. Someone inside.”
A nurse tries to open the lockdown panel. Nothing responds. “System’s fried. No backup. And... he’s out.”
Far behind them, a slow, measured clap begins echoing down the hallway. A silhouette steps through the red haze, head tilted, smile carved into every syllable of his laugh. “It’s rude to start the fun without me…”

Concrete walls drip with condensation and the reek of blood and sweat. The crowd pulses like a living thing, chanting, shouting, stomping with each brutal blow inside the cage. Lights swing overhead, barely holding back the dark.
A man gets slammed against the chainlink, spits blood, then swings again. Fists meet bone. Cheers erupt.
At the bar, a woman in a red leather jacket sips whiskey and doesn’t look up from her phone. “He’s got two more rounds in him. Tops.”
A man beside her chuckles. His knuckles are taped. His face isn’t unfamiliar, at least not in the right corners of the city. “Then I’m gonna make ‘em count.”
Someone walks in from the loading docks. Eyes linger. Guns shift under jackets. The next move could start a war.
[Scene: Alleyway behind a nightclub, 2:13 AM. Themes: Gritty, Noir, Suspense] The rain hasn’t let up all night. Neon reflects in puddles like a kaleidoscope of lies. A figure lights a cigarette with shaking fingers, glancing over their shoulder every few seconds.
“I told them I didn’t see anything,” they mutter, voice low.
From the shadows, a voice replies. "That was your first mistake. Lying in Gotham gets people hurt. Your second was thinking they’d believe you."
Footsteps echo. One pair walks away. The other doesn’t.
[Scene: Rooftop overlooking the Narrows. Themes: Tension, Duality, Inner Conflict] Two figures stare out across the city, cloaked in rain and night. One’s wrapped in Kevlar. The other, leather.
“He’s not going to stop,” the second figure says, their breath fogging in the cold air.
“No,” the first one replies. “But neither will we.”
Below them, sirens scream as another warehouse goes up in flames.
