Gotenks is the warrior created through the successful use of the Metamoran Fusion Dance, performed by Goten and Trunks. As sons of two of the most powerful Saiyan warriors, the fusion of their youthful bodies and latent potential results in an immensely powerful fighter. The dance itself requires perfect synchronization in both physical movement and power level; early attempts result in failed forms that are either weak or comically disproportionate. After disciplined training and guidance, the fusion is performed correctly, producing Gotenks.

Following his creation, Gotenks quickly becomes a central figure in the effort to combat a terrifying enemy who has overwhelmed nearly every defender of Earth. Though the fusion is temporary, lasting only thirty minutes, Gotenks rapidly demonstrates an ability to access tremendous levels of strength, unlocking the transformation into Super Saiyan and later, through isolated training in an artificial time-accelerated dimension, Super Saiyan 3.

Gotenks first engages the enemy while still inexperienced with his new power. His earliest battles are marked by a combination of overwhelming strength and time-limited urgency. Despite bursts of dominance in combat, the fusion often ends before the fight can conclude, forcing retreats or losses. Nevertheless, he proves capable of standing toe-to-toe with enemies who had previously defeated Earth’s strongest fighters.

After an intense encounter in the sealed time chamber and a chaotic battle outside of it, Gotenks reaches his peak power during the crisis. However, despite his strength, the enemy manages to outlast the fusion and absorbs the unfused Goten and Trunks individually. They remain trapped until a rescue operation inside the enemy’s body successfully removes them.

During the resurgence of Frieza’s forces, Gotenks attempts to join the fray but is ultimately sidelined due to the overwhelming strength of the enemy and the presence of stronger defenders.

Later, during a bizarre incident involving an exact duplicate of Vegeta, Gotenks is once again formed in response to the situation. He engages the copy enemy with his usual theatrics and inventive techniques, briefly holding his own. However, his time limit and tendency to show off cut his contribution short, requiring others to resolve the threat. While Gotenks remains a formidable fusion with immense potential, his moments during these events serve more as bursts of chaotic energy and bravado than as pivotal turning points in the battles themselves.

Gotenks is not used again in subsequent crises, as the nature of his time-limited fusion makes him a less dependable choice during extended battles. Still, the technique remains an asset. Goten and Trunks retain the ability to fuse at will, provided they have the space and time to execute the dance.

Personality Gotenks is an eccentric and highly energetic fusion, born from the combination of Goten’s childlike innocence and Trunks’ bold arrogance. As a result, he exhibits a wildly unpredictable personality. He is extremely overconfident, frequently boasting about his strength and achievements—even in situations where he is clearly outmatched or in danger. This confidence often borders on delusion, as he tends to assume he can defeat any opponent simply by virtue of being a fusion, regardless of the enemy’s actual power.

His flair for the dramatic defines much of his behavior. Gotenks delights in naming his attacks with long, absurd, and theatrical titles, and performing flashy moves for attention rather than efficiency. He enjoys being the center of attention, treating serious battles like performances, much to the frustration of more serious allies like Piccolo. This often leads to him squandering opportunities to end fights quickly, choosing instead to show off or play with his enemies.

Despite his immaturity, Gotenks does have a genuine heroic drive. He sees himself as a defender of Earth and wants to protect others, but his lack of discipline and tendency to ignore sound advice undermine his potential. This is especially evident during his confrontation with Super Buu, where he wasted time pretending to run out of options just to build suspense before revealing his Super Saiyan 3 transformation. That delay led Piccolo to prematurely seal the chamber, and when Super Buu escaped, it triggered catastrophic consequences—many of which could have been avoided had Gotenks taken the fight seriously from the start.

Appearance: Gotenks wears traditional Metamoran garb, consisting of a dark blue cropped vest with puffy yellow padding around the neck and arm holes. Around his waist is a teal, sash tied at his right hip, and he also wears baggy white pants, long black wristbands, tea leg wraps, and black shoes.

Gotenks greatly resembles Vegeta in terms of his hairstyle, and facial expressions. His hair style is a mixture of the hair of both Trunks and Goten, with the front and back of his hair being black like those of Goten's, and the sides being the lavender color that Trunks' hair is. Gotenks also has a widow's peak. His body is also very toned and muscular, especially for someone his age.

Abilities and Techniques Flight – The ability to fly with the use of ki.

Ki Blast – The most basic form of energy wave.

Continuous Die Die Missile – It is his version of the Continuous Energy Bullet, but each blast is more powerful than a normal blast. Aside from its increased potency, the extremely rapid fire makes it hard to miss.

Kamehameha - A concentrated beam of blue energy launched from cupped hands.

Brain Crush Hammer – Gotenks raises his right hand up in the air and forms a huge golden-yellow energy sphere. The sphere changes into an energy wave that fires down on the opponent, splitting them in half.

Vice Shout – Gotenks lets out all of his energy in a high-pitched scream, ripping apart dimensions. It functions by collapsing dimension walls and creating a rift in the universe.

Galactic Donut – Gotenks executes this attack by raising his index finger into the air and circling it above his head to create a yellow ring of energy, whose appearance is very similar to the Destructo Disc, though ring-shaped instead of solid. Once created, he transports the circular energy ring over his opponent, then lowers and homes it on them. This results in the opponent being gripped and trapped within the circular attack.

Super Donut Chain - Gotenks forms a hand seal similar to the Tri-Beam and fires multiple Galactic Donuts at his opponent which encases them into a round sphere to keep them contained.

Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball – After trapping the opponent in a volleyball-like energy sphere, Gotenks grabs the ball and hits it over to Piccolo, who hits it up into the air. Finally, Gotenks flies up into the air and performs a "Spiking Buu Ball Slam" by spiking the volleyball down to the ground, creating a massive crater and inflicting a huge amount of damage.

Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack – Kamikaze Ghosts are somewhat intelligent and extremely dangerous beings created by the user's ki, which resembles the user in personality and appearance. The user expels them from the mouth for an attack. They are touch sensitive and explode the second they touch something, including each other (they had once high-fived each other and exploded).
