Gotenks

Gotenks is born from Goten and Trunks using the Fusion Dance during the battle against Majin Buu, after the boys are trained by Piccolo to become Earth’s last serious defense while Goku and Gohan are absent. Inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Gotenks reaches Super Saiyan 3 and battles Super Buu with enough power to nearly destroy him, but the form burns through the fusion’s time too quickly and falls apart before he can finish the fight. The official Dragon Ball site describes him as only a breath away from defeating Majin Buu before the fusion suddenly comes undone.

After the chamber battle, Gotenks appears again when Goten and Trunks fuse to face Buu outside, but Super Buu outsmarts them and absorbs Gotenks along with Piccolo, creating a stronger form of himself until the fusion expires inside his body. Later, Gotenks can still bring out Super Saiyan 3, but the gap between him and the adult Saiyans has grown much wider; against Duplicate Vegeta, even Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks is quickly overwhelmed.

Appearance: Gotenks has light peach skin and a small, compact, muscular build. His most striking feature is his enormous Super Saiyan 3 hair, which is a pale golden blond and rises in a dense mass of long, thick, sharply pointed spikes. The hair fans far outward and downward behind him in many layered sections, creating a very full silhouette around his head and upper body. His eyes are bright teal with narrow, intense pupils. His upper body is bare across the chest and abdomen, showing a lean but clearly defined physique with visible pectorals, abdominals, and arm muscles.

He wears the fusion vest, which is very short and sleeveless, leaving his chest and midriff exposed. The vest is dark blue along the main body with large, rounded golden-yellow shoulder pads that curve over the tops of his shoulders. Around his wrists are dark bands. A wide blue sash is wrapped around his waist, tied with long hanging folds of fabric draping down at the front and side. His pants are loose, white, and heavily gathered, with deep folds and a billowy shape that narrows toward the lower legs. Blue fabric wraps tightly around his ankles, and he wears dark shoes with a simple rounded shape.

Personality: Gotenks is arrogant, loud, and extremely theatrical, with Goten’s playfulness mixed into Trunks’ cocky need to show off. The power of the form makes him even more confident, so he tends to treat serious battles like a stage where he can invent attacks, make dramatic entrances, and mock enemies before finishing them. He has real courage and incredible potential, but his immaturity often gets in the way because he wastes time trying to look impressive instead of ending a fight quickly.

His main relationship is with the two boys who create him, Goten and Trunks, though Gotenks usually acts more like Trunks is driving the attitude while Goten adds the sillier energy. Piccolo serves as his frustrated teacher and battlefield guardian, constantly trying to force discipline into a warrior who has the strength to save the world but not the patience to use it wisely. Against Majin Buu, Gotenks treats the fight like a challenge to his pride, but Buu’s danger exposes how risky his showboating can be when lives depend on him.

Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks has overwhelming speed, strength, durability, flight, and ki output far beyond his normal fusion state. His power is enough to pressure Super Buu directly, but the form burns through his fusion time very quickly, so he has to fight fast before his body can no longer hold the transformation. He is dangerous at close range with heavy strikes and aerial rushes, but his most unusual strength is how easily he creates strange techniques on the spot.

Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack lets Gotenks create ghostly copies of himself from his own ki. These ghosts act on his will and explode violently when touched, making them deadly traps against reckless enemies. Galactic Donuts forms rings of ki that wrap around a target and restrain them in place. Continuous Die Die Missile is a rapid storm of energy blasts fired over a wide area to overwhelm an enemy with constant pressure. Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball uses a trapped opponent like a living ball, with Gotenks and Piccolo launching the enemy back and forth before smashing them down. Victory Cannon is a concentrated blast of ki fired from his hands, meant to hit with heavier force than his usual scattered attacks.
