Goten

Goten is the second son of Goku and Chi-Chi, conceived after the Cell Games and born during the peaceful years that followed. Growing up, he closely resembled his father in both appearance and personality, though his gentle and innocent nature reflected Chi-Chi’s influence as well. Unlike Gohan, who was forced into strict study, Goten was allowed more freedom and began martial arts training at a very young age. By the time he was seven, he was already able to transform into a Super Saiyan with surprising ease, something that even amazed Gohan and Goku.

During the Buu Saga, Goten trained with his best friend Trunks, and together they learned the Fusion Dance, becoming Gotenks, a warrior powerful enough to fight Majin Buu. Though reckless and overconfident, Gotenks displayed incredible power, even reaching Super Saiyan 3, though ultimately the fused warrior could not fully defeat Buu. Goten himself continued to grow under his family’s guidance, playing a role in the final battle by giving energy to Goku’s Spirit Bomb.

Ten years after Buu’s defeat, Goten lived in a world finally at peace. He continued to train with his father, though his interest in martial arts was less intense than Goku’s or even Gohan’s. When the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament was announced, Goten was forced by Goku to cancel personal plans in order to participate. At the tournament grounds, he shared lighthearted banter with Trunks, teasing him about the fighters they observed, particularly the flamboyant Otokosuki, whose unwanted advances unsettled them both.

When the tournament matchups were drawn, Goten was paired against Majin Buu, much to his frustration. Trunks reassured him it was simply bad luck, only to receive the same response back when he was matched with Otokosuki, leading to the two joking about their misfortunes. However, before most matches could take place, Goku chose to leave with Uub, Kid Buu’s reincarnation, to train him, effectively ending the tournament.

To make up for the abrupt cancellation, Goten and his niece Pan staged an exhibition match to entertain their families and the gathered crowd. Despite Goten’s strength and experience, Pan’s energy and determination carried her to victory.

Appearance: Goten's appearance as a child is a spitting image of his father's childhood look, including messy, unkempt hair, same eye color, lighter-pale complexion and a playful face. His appearance drastically changes as he grows older. Goten's hair grew, so that he would not be mistaken for Goku and is seen with a shaggier hairstyle. He wears an orange martial arts gi, with a black sash, and orange pants.

Personality: As a child, Goten is a fun-loving and kind-hearted person like his father. But thanks to his mother's structured upbringing, he tends to show more common sense and proper manners than his father did as a child even in some cases as an adult. While still being forced to study hard like his older brother by their mother, having mellowed out following Goku's death, Chi-Chi allowed Goten to have more freedom to explore his own interests than Gohan did growing up Chi-Chi even took it upon herself to train Goten in the martial arts.

Goten is also somewhat mischievous, due to being influenced by his best friend Trunks and joins him in their many antics. Between Trunks and himself, he is surprisingly the voice of reason, though he usually goes along with the former's ideas. Goten is also well mannered, like his father, as he always bows before he faces someone in a fight.

As a teenager and adult, Goten is still kind-hearted and considerate of other people but is seen to be more mature. He settles down to live more or less as a normal teenager, worrying more about girls and bikes than fighting.

Abilities: Flight - The use of ki to fly.

Assault! – First, Goten charges at the opponent and punches them away. Then, he flies up into the air and charges down at the opponent head-first at top speed. When the opponent dodges, Goten blasts the ground with an energy sphere to propel himself towards the opponent's direction to knock them away with a headbutt, using his falling speed to inflict severe damage.

Kamehameha – A powerful Ki blast fired with two hands after concentrating a large amount of Ki.

Kamekameha – When Goten uses this attack, it creates an energy wave like the normal Kamehameha, but the only difference is that it loses direction and flies anywhere. This is presumably because Goten has not learned to control the direction of his energy attacks.

Super Kamehameha – An advanced and more powerful version of the Kamehameha.

Super Kamekameha – When Goten uses this attack, he shouts, "How'd you like this?" or "Now I'm mad!". He then charges the attack like a regular Kamehameha and releases it, dealing significant damage to his opponent.

Multiple Kamehameha - Two or more fighters fire multiple Kamehamehas (one per fighter) simultaneously at a single point. This usually causes their separate Kamehamehas to merge into one giant Kamehameha blast at the opponent.

Bros. Kamehameha – When performing it, Gohan and Goten each prepare their Kamehameha attacks. Then, they fire them simultaneously so that the two energy waves merge into one large Kamehameha blast. When this is not enough to defeat the opponent, Gohan and Goten put more power into the attack, overpowering the opponent and inflicting a great deal of damage.

Family Kamehameha – Gohan and Goten fire a combined Kamehameha at the opponent, who struggles against the attack. With the Dragon Balls in place, Goten wishes Goku was there. Thus, the spirit of their father Goku descends beside his two sons and transforms into his Super Saiyan form. Finally, Goku fires his Kamehameha as he, Gohan and Goten charge more power into the combined attack, overpowering the opponent and inflicting a huge amount of damage.

Full Power Energy Blast Volley – The user fires flurries of large, bright Ki Blasts that is more powerful than the average energy volley. It is useful for quick, effective, as well as causing massive accumulations of damage to the foes.

Super Saiyan: The energy involved in the transformation causes Goten's hair to stand on end and turn a golden color. His facial expression is sharpened, and the color of his eyes turns a bright emerald green. When in this state Goten's power level increases dramatically.
