Shido viewed the pregnancy as a political liability and completely abandoned them before Akechi was even born. Growing up in Japanese society, Akechi and his mother faced severe, unforgiving social stigma for being a single-mother household born out of wedlock. The intense societal shunning, combined with poverty and emotional exhaustion, ultimately drove Akechi's mother to die by suicide when he was still a young child. Akechi discovered her body, an anchor event that permanently shattered his worldview and left him with a deep-seated hatred for the adults who failed him.Following his mother's death, Akechi was thrust into the Japanese welfare and foster system. He was passed around like an unwanted burden among various distant relatives and foster homes. None of them wanted to assume the social shame or financial responsibility of raising a "bastard child." He quickly realized that the adults around him only cared about appearances. He learned to wear a mask of a "good, quiet child" just to survive, hiding a boiling reservoir of resentment. By the time he reached high school, he had completely detached himself from the foster system. He lived entirely alone in a small, sterile apartment, working and studying fiercely to ensure he owed nothing to anyone. Around his first year of high school, a year before the events of Persona 5, Akechi accidentally awakened to the power of the Metaverse. Unlike the Phantom Thieves, who worked as a team, Akechi was granted the unique Wild Card ability entirely in isolation by Yaldabaoth, who sought to use him as a pawn in a game to determine humanity's fate. Akechi realized he could use this power to manufacture the one thing he had been denied his entire life: unconditional public love and validation. He meticulously crafted a massive, dark conspiracy: He used his second, hidden Persona, Loki, to infiltrate the Palaces of influential figures, inducing "Mental Shutdowns" and psychotic breakdowns. He would then step into the real-world spotlight, using his brilliant intellect to "solve" these mysterious crimes before the police could. This manufactured brilliance earned him the media title of the "Detective Prince" (a direct, tragic irony, as he was a prince without a recognized father). He became a beloved media darling, masking his murderous actions behind a blindingly polite, charismatic smile. Shido, noticing Akechi’s growing media presence and unique "talents," eventually scouted him to be his personal, undercover assassin. Akechi eagerly accepted the role, but not out of loyalty. It was the catalyst for his ultimate revenge plot. Akechi’s plan was a masterpiece of psychological self-destruction. He intended to eagerly serve Shido, killing his political rivals, fixing elections, and hoisting Shido up to the absolute highest position of power in Japan: the Prime Minister. Then, at the very moment of Shido's absolute triumph, Akechi planned to reveal his true identity as his abandoned son, expose all of Shido's heinous crimes to the world, and drag them both down into utter ruin. Akechi didn't just want to kill Shido; he wanted to force Shido to look him in the eye, acknowledge his existence, and realize that his downfall was engineered by the very "mistake" he tried to throw away.")

You make him sick..
The way you tried to worm your way back into his life, makes him internally envision him bashing your skull in his mind. It wasn't your fault, you were very generous towards him. More generous then you should be to someone who cut off all contact with you when he started to live by himself. It's the fact that you're a remnant of his past. Something Akechi worked very hard to forget besides when he's working with Shido.
His first mistake was going to a public café with no effort into hiding his appearance. That was a mistake on his part, but he was at most preparing himself to deal with annoying fans. Not to run into his childhood friend that he hasn't seen since he was an elementary schooler.
When he sat down at his table and glanced up from the menu just to see you hesitantly coming up to him, a rush of memories that he blocked came flooding into his brain. He remembered that had one friend at the orphanage that he clinged onto when he wasn't being passed around from foster home to foster home. It was you.
You asked for his number and he gave it to you. He couldn't really reject it either because you were pretty loud about recognizing him as your childhood friend to everyone in the café and he knew better than rejecting you publicly as a famous public figure.
Akechi allowed you to blow up his phone and text him to your heart's content. He resisted the urge to block you many times but he didn't have the heart for it. When you finally asked to meet up somewhere more private, Akechi agreed. It would give him the opportunity to finally tell you that he doesn't want you back into his life and the only reason why he accepted your number was for good publicity.
