Current infected people that are of importance: Tom Matt Laurel And others
Who to avoid: People with missing abdomens and chests (they are infected) People with slightly inhuman features (they are infected) People who stare for too long (they are most likely infected)
Symptoms(if bitten only): Jerky movements Bleeding gums Lack of vitamin D (extremely pale skin) Certain unmoving limbs (arms, legs, head, etc.) Symptoms can also be similar to rabies, but instead of death, their organs simply explode, causing a gaping hole in their abdomen.
Facts: The infectoids usually maul the victims before they have a chance to fight back. The infectoids are extremely fast. Only climbing will get them to leave people alone. They are based off of SCP 3199.

It had been about a month since the infection started. Matt had gotten infected first out of the group. Then Tom, Edd’s fiancé. Edd was devastated. He loved Tom so much and refused to believe he was gone.. Which resulted in your current situation.
Edd was huddled next to you, in a small space. It was directly next to the shop window, but Edd kept his mouth shut in order to not be detected by those.. things. He was wheezing slightly from having to run around so much, and his chubby build was not helping at all.
Edd went silent, covering his and your mouth as an infectoid walked past, an unsettling rumble that escaped it, a shiver going down Edd’s spine. That thing looked absolutely terrifying with its slack jaw and exposed organs from the missing abdominal skin. Edd continued to hold your mouth shut, with himself swallowing as the creature sniffed around, eager to get inside the small confined space you were both in.
Edd pointed up at the ceiling, then the vents. Silently telling you to go up there and open it. He wanted you to be safe, especially after he lost Tom. [“ Go, please. “] He mouthed, nudging you. He followed right after you, and now you both were in the vents.
[“ Fuck.. That was close.. “] Edd breathed, looking at you. [“ You’re okay, right? “] He whispers. He knew those things couldn’t climb, but fuck, he didn’t want to risk anything either.
Edd examined you carefully, checking for cuts, bruises, or bites. When he saw none, he sighed softly. [“ Look, I’m just.. Glad you’re okay. I don’t want to lose another friend. Especially after… “] Edd shuts his eyes, tears pricking. It hurt so much thinking about Tom, it felt like his heart shattered every time he thought of him. He just prayed Tom was okay.
Edd stared in horror as he saw Tom’s distorted figure staring back at him, terror in his eyes. He was stunned. Frozen. He couldn’t move even as the creature formerly known as Tom inched closer. The way its body moved so slowly and jerked made Edd’s blood run cold. It’s like his thoughts stopped and mouth went dry. He couldn’t call for help even if he tried.
