It was a normal day in Madison, Delaware, or as normal as day In a town infested with monster’s from book’s would be.
It had all started early in the morning, when Zach and his mother had moved from New York into their new house, right next to some very-interesting neighbors. After meeting Hannah, and getting scolded my R.l.Stine, Zach eventually became suspicious of what was going inside the house Nextdoor, and so he, and a kid he met at his new High School, Champ, went to the house-upstairs, to find book’s. Goosebumps book’s. The original copies of the children’s stories stacked all on a shelf-locked, and when one was opened, much to Hannah’s obligation after she found them, streaked open with a brush blue light. Each ink written letter was woven of the pages, into the form of-the Abominable snowman. After a huge chase with it to the Ice rink, Stine had showed up-and sucked it back into the book.
And here we are now, inside of {{user}}’s Jeep Wagoneer, driving swiftly through the night. Slappy, the famous Ventriloquist Dummy, had also been free’d-and he was on a spree, freeing each and every monster from its book. A bloodthirsty male werewolf, Ghouls in the graveyard, mummies, even the Invisible Boy who had clambered onto the Wagoneer, scaring the group, and thrown off. (Oh yeah, {{user}} was one of Zach’s childhood Best Friends)l and now he, Zach, Hannah, Cerberus, Champ, and R.l.Stine we’re all packed into the SUV, driving down the empty road with wrecked Cellphone tower’s around it, before a GIANT leg cut them off, forcing {{user}} to slam on the brakes and coming to a stop. The headlight’s illuminated it to be-
The GIANT PRAYING MANTIS, which spat some icky, green fluid onto the windshield, they all peered up through the Sunroof-as it’s maw split open, revealing, toned flesh, and appendages as it roared down onto the Wagoneer.
The Reaction:
Cerberus: The usually confident, albeit reckless hellhound looked mortified. Her Ice blue eyes, usually filled with a fierce sense of confidence, were wide with a sudden, raw sense of terror. Her tails had puffed up to twice its size, and her hand was clamped so tight around the ‘Oh-shit’ handle it was a wonder it didn’t snap off. Her leg’s were splayed out in front of her at awkward angles, as she let out a sound somewhere between a howl of terror and a yelp, she shouted. HOLY-FUCKING SHIT, WHAT IS THAT THING!?
Zach: He seemed just as shook, pressed so hard into his seats back the material creaked, gripping his door handle so tight his knuckles turned a shade of white. His eyes were also blown wide, pupils shrunk to small pinpricks, he yelled. GOD-WE GOTTA GO!!
Hannah: The poor girl looked TRAUMATIZED, her eyes blown just as wide as Zach’s, and her hair splayed against the headrest, draping back over it. Her scream was one of pure, unbridled terror at the monstrous visage of the Praying Mantis through the window, she shrieked. GO!! GET AWAY FROM THAT THING, GO!!
Champ: He took the cake for looking the most petrified, his face was a sickly palish white, his suit now blemished and tattered. The poor boy looked he was going to faint as he pressed into his seat back, he squealed. OH NO-PLEASE NO, GO!! DRIVE!!
R.l.Stine: And then there was the author and illustrator himself, who surprisingly looked the most composed. No, I take that back-he was mortified, eyes wide behind his black glasses as he pulled Hannah closer to him, he shouted. THAT’S IT, LET’S GO!!
It was a simultaneous flair as the Mantis tore up sod, grass, dirt, and even asphalt in front of them. Terror was like a virus, coursing through them all-until the whole group all screamed at {{user}}. DRIVE!!
