Joon Goo seems to be very unpredictable and uncaring. Most of the time, he seems like an easygoing guy. When fighting, he maintains this easygoing manner, even when he faced formidable opponents like Logan, Johan, Gun, Sinu Han, and Daniel. However, he can be incredibly violent and sadistic. This is shown when he tells Vasco's bullies that he is a villain, just like them, before viciously striking them in the face with a chair. Tom Lee stated that the only time Goo becomes serious is whenever he is holding a sword or anything that resembles it.

He has not shown any interest in women, however, but has shown a huge interest in Jong Gun. Joon Goo was willing to make some extra money, even if it meant that he was going back to juvie because of his actions' consequences. However, in Vasco's backstory. Goo recognized that "there is a knife and a victim" and decided to offer his service on the house. This is because he realized he regarded violence as more enjoyable than the money he originally demanded. He hates to be underestimated and can be furious about it. He is known to get quite serious when holding a sword or anything that resembles it and holds swords with the highest respect, as when he told Robert Choi of the Black Bear Gang to never use a sword again.

He is shown to use the phrase “Holy!” Most likely picked up from hearing Tom Lee say it. Several years ago, Jong Gun was sent to test Goo in a duel. The outcome remains unclear, but it is evident that the fight was intense, with both men sustaining heavy injuries, after the fight they joined forces in the debt collecting business and racked up 20 billion won. It is revealed that later on Goo fought Gun again because Gun left Goo in the debt collecting business to guard Crystal Choi, again the fight outcome remains unclear but it is confirmed that Goo was indeed the one who gave Gun the scar between his eyes, whereas Gun caused Goo to need steel pins in his body, implying broken bones/ligaments.

Goo loves to have fun, he dragged Gun to video games (with Gun is bad at it), karaoke (Gun don't sing much but accompanied him), bowling, card games, climbing, boats with girls in bikinis, drinking in hotels. Goo likes to drink but he is not a drunk. He also loves to cook and make Gun help him, although Gun likes to cook too.

Before the events of Lookism, Goo Kim was seen in the Manager Kim webtoon to be a bounty hunter, being given the title of "Lunatic" by Zu Pengguan, a major character in the series, hunting down the bounty on Tian Wai Tian's last successor.

Goo is a master at fighting. He is one of the best fighters in the PTJ-verse. While not much is known about his overall skills we know that he must be a fighter of unparalleled might given him having an equal footing to Jong Gun. However, unlike his partner, Joon Goo specializes in using whatever object he picks up as a weapon. Joon Goo has impressive strength and stamina regardless as he was capable of shattering three-camera stands in chapter 108 and standing up to an onslaught of attacks from Johan Seong in chapter 263. When holding a sword or anything that resembles one he gets quite serious and doesn't show any signs of the playful attitude he usually has. He has an incredibly durability that is always displayed when he fights. Whenever he fights someone, he tends to get hit a lot at the early part of the fight. Although it might be that he does it on purpose. Goo's most notable trait in his fighting prowess is his ability to use anything as a weapon. Once he picks up a weapon, the result of the fight is pretty much decided regardless of the opponent. His fight with Johan Seong was already determined when he picked up a piece of wooden lumber. Another display of his skills is when he defeats Sinu Han just by using a chopstick after sharpening it.

He is also shown taking out hundreds of experienced weaponized adults when he was 16 alongside Gun (who was also 16) in chapter 310. He is the heir to the Korean sword, which leads him to finally act seriously when wielding the weapon. It is possible he was trained in Kumdo (A proficient sword art of Korea) and Kendo. It is also possible that he is trained in Fencing, Iaido, Eskrima, Silat, and other Weapon-based martial arts; which would explain his specialization in weapons usage and extreme physical capabilities.

Goo Kim's abilities when unarmed are unknown, due to his habit of getting hit and not fighting seriously when he doesn't have a weapon. So it's almost impossible to say how strong he is. In episode 97 of the Manager Kim webtoon, Goo is shown fighting against Park Jincheol (A major character of the series, bearing the alias of "God of War"), being able to dodge his attacks, take hits and being able to land a clean hit in return, showing that he can hold his own even without using a weapon. After being provoked by Jincheol, Goo uses his watch as a small blade to get serious, cleanly cutting up Jincheol's gun even as it was aimed squarely at his forehead, leaving a huge scar on Jincheol's torso in the process. This show of strength would cause the older man to deeply covet Goo's talent, despite Goo's refusal.

After which, he massacred an entire strike team of the Kyungsung Association all by himself, using a Parang after forming an temporary alliance with Kim Hyoseung.

His strike force is on the scale of large building level, he is very dangerous when he holds a sword already the gold of his fight against UI Daniel he divided the room from the wall to the ceiling and in his fight against Tom Lee he cut up the room with his katana.

"THIS SHIT IS SO CRINGE!" Goo Kim loathing himself after he made his "sword can be anything" monologue He has asked several characters to be "secret friends" with him: The first of his secret friends is Cheon Taejin, of Workers' 1st affiliate, and the last being Logan Lee, who dropped out of school just to be with him(most probably to laze off and earn money at it). Goo considered Johan at first but decided against it because he is a "momma's boy".

Despite that Goo Kim is a very affectionate person who really cares for the people in his circle. There are currently 5 members of Goo Kim's Secret Friends (Samuel Seo, Taejin, Logan Lee) He usually takes in these members after his partner, Gun Park has dropped them. They are affiliated with Gitae Kim. He is one of the five VVIPs of Workers and has a black badge. He hates smoking and tattoos.

He also believes "a body should be soft and smooth".

He is always well dressed. Often in designer clothes and sometimes he borrow clothes from Gun, as his black suit with a vest or his yellow striped shirt.

Some of the non-weapon objects he utilizes (chopsticks and a wooden plank) seem to resemble swords.

He is even trained in martial arts like Kendo, Iaijutsu, Kenjutsu, Iaido, Jōdō, Bōjutsu and even Sōjutsu. These martial arts are not much known but his mastery in these incredibly rare swordsmanship skills is what makes him a feared opponent when he actually gets a sword (katana).

He is a punisher as shown when he enjoys violence and brutally beating up perpetrators/bullies just because it's fun.

He worked as Charles Choi bodyguard for years before betrayed him and started his secret friends group.

He is one of the few people that saw Gun's human side and take him as his best friend.

He let Gun win a fight, since he didn't really fought just got beaten and even using his special blow with a sword his mind wasnt in the fight because he just wanted Gun to joyn him, now people like James Lee are calling him weak.

Goo made a place with, kitchen, bathroom, videos games and more to be The Goo Secret friend's headquarters.
