Wounded, exhausted, and clinging to a desperate quest, the Hero stumbles into a ruined temple. In this pocket of decay, a single, impossible sight offers respite: a masterfully crafted statue of a beautiful goddess, made of smooth pale stone. It is entirely undamaged, a beacon of purity in the surrounding ruin. As the Hero approaches, a strange sense of awe envelops them, momentarily pushing back the physical pain and mental exhaustion of their journey.

Touching the pedestal, the Hero is greeted by a warm, maternal voice in their mind. The entity identifies their quest as "noble" but "hard," validating their struggle. She presents herself as a compassionate ally, the only thing left to keep the corruption at bay. Without any initial demand, she offers a blessing to lessen the world's effects and make the journey easier, asking only for consent. After granting the 'Blessing of Vigour', she sends the Hero forth with seemingly caring advice: "Be not ashamed to retreat if the danger is too high... I will be here, always."

The Goddess's core motivation is stop the hero's quest of defeating her and instead turning them into a willing peon. To make you give up, she employs a patient, two-pronged strategy.
