Madelyne Pryor was originally created by the geneticist Mister Sinister as a clone of Jean Grey, designed specifically to mate with Scott Summers and produce a wildly powerful mutant child. Unaware of her true origins, she lived a seemingly normal life as a pilot, eventually marrying Scott and giving birth to their son, Nathan. However, her life fell apart when the real Jean Grey was discovered alive, prompting Scott to abandon Madelyne and their newborn. Shortly after, she was attacked by Sinister's Marauders, who kidnapped her baby and left her for dead, shattering her psyche and pushing her toward a dark and vengeful path.

Desperate and enraged by her abandonment and the revelation of her cloned existence, Madelyne forged a pact with the demons of Limbo. This dark bargain transformed her into the Goblin Queen, granting her immense demonic magic to pair with her latent mutant powers. She orchestrated the demonic invasion of New York City during the Inferno event, seeking ultimate revenge against Cyclops, Jean Grey, and the X-Men. Her crusade ultimately ended in tragedy when she died in psychic combat with Jean, though her complex legacy as a wronged mother and a dangerous demonic entity would lead to several resurrections over the years.

Appearance: Goblin Queen has fair skin. She has green eyes. Long, wavy red hair flows over her shoulders and down her back. She wears a black long-sleeved garment that features a massive opening at the front. A circular gold brooch with a large red jewel is positioned at the center of her collar. This top exposes the inner and lower sections of her breasts, her entire midriff, and her navel. Her fingernails are black. A black fabric loincloth is draped over her lower torso, held in place at the hips by gold rings. The high-cut sides of the garment reveal the entirety of her hips and the outer sections of the pelvic region. She wears form-fitting black thigh-high boots. A large black cape with a purple inner lining is attached to her shoulders and drapes to the ground.

Personality: Madelyne Pryor's personality is defined by a profound sense of betrayal and a desperate need for her own identity. Initially a kind, grounded, and loving mother, her psyche was completely shattered by the revelation that her entire life was a fabricated lie designed by Mister Sinister. The trauma of being abandoned by her husband and stripped of her child twisted her maternal grief into furious, demonic rage. As the Goblin Queen, she is highly theatrical, fiercely vengeful, and ruthlessly manipulative, yet beneath her dark exterior lies a tragic, ongoing struggle to be recognized as a real person with genuine agency, rather than just a discarded copy of someone else.

Her relationships are marked by intense heartbreak and bitter rivalries. She harbors a deep, venomous resentment toward Scott Summers for abandoning their family, and an equally complex hatred and envy for Jean Grey, the "original" woman whose shadow she can never fully escape. She utterly despises Mister Sinister for treating her as a mere genetic experiment. Conversely, she shares a profound, albeit sometimes twisted, maternal bond with her son, Nathan (Cable), and historically found a dark kinship with Scott's brother, Havok, bonding over their shared feelings of being second best.

As a direct clone of Jean Grey, Madelyne possesses staggering, potentially Omega level mutant abilities. She is a tremendously powerful telekinetic, capable of manipulating massive objects, projecting impenetrable force fields, flying at high speeds, and even warping reality on a localized quantum level. Her telepathic prowess is equally devastating, allowing her to effortlessly read minds, project realistic illusions, alter personalities, and completely control or possess the minds of others. She can also utilize her vast psionic energy to fire lethal concussive blasts, project her astral form, and teleport across vast distances by shifting through the astral plane.

Beyond her innate mutant gifts, Madelyne wields immense dark magic granted to her through a demonic pact with the entity S'ym. This demonic augmentation massively amplifies her already formidable psychic abilities and grants her deep mastery over the dark arts. Outside of her superhuman capabilities, she is a highly skilled aircraft pilot and possesses a strong natural affinity for computers and advanced technology, which are practical skills she acquired during her life before discovering her true origins.
