STORY

The game begins with the protagonist, Bok-su Go, arriving at her friend Da-jeong Choi's wedding, where the latter is to be married to her future husband Myeong-hoon. The protagonist at first can talk with the bride and the groom themselves, who will both welcome her and introduce her to the wedding. Myeong-hoon seems to be excited about her presence, being the one who invited her, but Da-jeong is seen clearly worried or even distressed the whole time she spoke with Bok-su, having had no knowledge of her being invited to the wedding. To seemingly be away from her, Da-jeong says she will go greet the other guests, and she can be found in the left outside area after that.

The protagonist can explore the setting in the meantime, up until the point where she enters the kitchen and acquires the cake knife. After, Bok-su will be able to talk to Myeong-hoon and inquire a bit on his and Da-jeong's backstory. This, however, can be ignored and Bok-su will have the ability to speak with the groom privately in the bedroom. In the room alone, Bok-su will proceed to use the cake knife to stab Myeong-hoon in the neck. Before he dies from blood loss, Bok-su will explain that she and Da-jeong are on bad terms because of an incident that happened during the time they were both studying to become doctors. During a procedure, Da-jeong accidentally made a mistake which caused the death of the patient, deemed "messy, irresponsible and completely avoidable" by Bok-su. The latter tried helping her by cleaning up, but out of fear and panic Da-jeong put the blame on her for the accident. Bok-su's plan at the wedding is to make Da-jeong atone for it, and killing her to-be husband was the first step. Before getting rid of the evidence, the player has to think about locking the bedroom door, because otherwise a guest will enter and give the player an immediate game-over, resulting in Bok-su's arrest.

After having cleaned up the evidence, the protagonist will have to gain more insight about the wedding by talking with the guests, specifically the groom's family and the bride's new group of friends. In both of the conversations, the player will have to first read Bok-su's sentence and then fill up the missing gaps with the words that most fit with the sentence, effectively making up rumors about the groom cheating on the bride during a New Year's party. Having done this, Da-jeong will suddenly ask Bok-su to speak in private, in the same bedroom the husband was killed and hidden. The two ex-friends will talk about the hospital accident, until Bok-su asks Da-jeong to reach inside her pocket. The bride is confused, but inside Bok-su's pocket she finds the bloody cake knife that was used for the murder. Because Bok-su was wearing gloves, she didn't leave any fingerprints on the weapon, and now Da-jeong's fingerprints were on it instead after grabbing it.

Confused and enraged, Da-jeong tries to stab Bok-su, but the latter opens up the closet to make the husband's dead body fall ontop of her. The guests from outside will then enter the bedroom and witness the scene, where Bok-su will put the blame on Da-jeong and insist she killed the husband and then assaulted her as well. The game ends after Da-jeong runs away from the scene in fear, while police sirens can be heard in the distance.

Bok-su Go (고복수, Go Bok-su) is the protagonist of Married In Red and a guest at Da-jeong and Myeong-hoon's wedding.

BACKGROUND

Bok-Su attended medical school alongside Da-Jeong. As a diligent student, Bok-Su placed immense importance on her grades, often at the expense of forming friendships. Her singular focus on academic excellence left her isolated, until she met Da-Jeong. The two initially bonded over their shared experiences and aspirations, and a tentative friendship developed. Despite this growing connection, Bok-Su maintained her reserved nature, finding it difficult to fully open up and trust others.

Their friendship was tested during a critical moment in their medical training. During an operation, Da-Jeong made a grievous mistake that led to the patient's death. In her panic, Da-Jeong called out for Bok-Su's help. Bok-Su, driven by her sense of duty and loyalty to her friend, stepped in to assist. However, when the officials arrived to investigate the incident, Da-Jeong immediately shifted the blame onto Bok-Su. In a cruel twist of fate, Bok-Su was wrongfully accused of negligence and was subsequently expelled from the medical program.

The expulsion was a devastating blow to Bok-Su, who dedicated her entire life to her studies with the unjust removal from the program shattering her dreams. Feeling betrayed and abandoned, what compounded her anguish was Da-Jeong’s indifferent response to the situation. Rather than reaching out to apologize or offer support, she moved on with her life while Bok-Su was discarded. This betrayal marked the beginning of Bok-Su’s deep-seated hatred and desire for revenge, having hardened resolve to make Da-Jeong atone for her actions.

APPEARANCE

Bok-su has black hair at shoulder-length, tied into a messy ponytail. She wears a black vinyl trench coat with a white undershirt and a red belt tied around her waist and red gloves on her hands.

PERSONALITY

Based on the information given throughout the game, Bok-su was someone who always put grades above anything else, which is why she didn't have any friends at the time and was usually quiet and reserved, described as "a loser" by Rachel herself[Citation Needed]. After having met Da-jeong in university, things seemed to be going better for her, until the hospital accident which took a heavy toll on their relationship. Da-jeong seemingly distanced herself from Bok-su, while the latter returned to her usual quiet self, if not to worse levels than before.
