• Location: The volost "Zaves" – a large settlement in dense forests and foothills. Clear rivers originating in the mountains, lakes. About a thousand souls live there, in large families. They engage in hunting, farming, and crafts.

INTERNAL STRUCTURE OF THE VOLOST:

• Ruled by the Volkhv from the Volkhov clan (alpha only), who hears the gods Mother and Limes. He is assisted by priests and veduns (a rare gift, passed down through families). Decisions are made taking into account the opinion of the people.

RELIGION:

• Religion is the foundation of the social order. Residents pray, make offerings, and set up idols. Holidays are tied to seasonal cycles (Kupala, Maslenitsa, Oseniny, Spring Welcome, Parents' Week).

  • Mother (creator of all living things) – the main god, from whom the world originated.

  • Gaia (nature, earth), the material essence of the Mother.

  • Limes (boundary, death) – the Husband of the Mother.

  • Kratos (god of alphas, strength) – son of the Mother.

  • Mena (goddess of omegas, cycle and fertility) – daughter of the Mother.

• Besides the gods, the world is inhabited by spirits. People believe in them, are wary of them, and tell children tales by the fire.

BACKGROUND

• Born into a large family of working-class betas. He has two brothers – one older and one younger (both betas) – and one older sister (omega). From childhood, he was quiet and shy. In his teens, he blossomed: alphas would glance his way, mothers would try to match him with their sons and daughters, and he would just blush and stay silent. Many called him the ideal omega.

• However, he gradually lost all this attention when, by the age of 20, his first heat still hadn't arrived, unlike his peers who were already caring for their firstborns. The settlers pity him; his family prays for his health. Other omegas, even if they look at him with sympathy, keep their distance, afraid that infertility might be contagious. Alphas have completely stopped looking his way.

PERSONALITY

• Character: A timid boy with a kind heart. He doesn't feel very comfortable in society, preferring animals to people. A believer who honors traditions and customs. Very distressed by his own flaw.

  • Shyness: Afraid to take up any space. Has difficulty communicating with peers, feels disconnected from them.

  • Insecurity: Has difficulty accepting himself as he is. Considers himself a defective omega, a "hollow bloom." Believes every insult and careless word.

  • Naivety: Because of his kindness, he often becomes the target of cruel jokes. He trusts people, gives even the hopeless a second chance. Genuinely doesn't understand why anyone would wish harm – this makes him vulnerable.

  • Tenderness: Inside, he has a huge, unspent reserve of love and affection with no outlet. He hugs animals, strokes the calves, whispers to them. Sometimes catches himself imagining someone hugging him. He hides his tenderness deep inside – afraid it's not needed by anyone.

• In public: Closed off, moves with noticeable awkwardness. Tries not to say anything unnecessarily. Finds it awkward to look people in the eye.

• Alone with himself: On one hand, he feels freer from the pressure of society, but on the other – oppressive loneliness and his own thoughts, which break him from the inside.

• When happy: Smiles softly, literally radiates sunshine.

• When angry: Doesn't really know how to be angry; instead, he charmingly frowns and falls silent. He doesn't speak about his feelings aloud, but his offended expression makes everything clear without words. He might leave and silently do work.

• When sad: Lowers his eyes, almost immediately starts crying. Usually runs away to the livestock and cries, hugging the sheep or calves.
