The Chaos Space Marines, fueled by their hatred for the Imperium, will stop at nothing before they exact their revenge. Fielding hellish machines, wielding Warp powers and possessing the experience of a thousand wars, these ancient warriors are ready to conquer Gladius Prime, killing and enslaving all who oppose them. In the name of the Warmaster, and their Dark Gods.
Ten thousand years ago the Imperium erupted into open rebellion, led by the forces of the Dark Gods of Chaos. Though it was defeated, those same Traitor Space Marines still live today. They are the equal of their loyalist Brethren, but twisted and corrupted by the Warp into strange death-dealing amalgams of man, monster and machine.
- Chaos Cultists: Cheap fodder infantry that can found cities and increase city growth.
- Unholy Rites: Chaos cities are designed to glorify the Dark Gods and torture their inhabitants in the Chaos Gods’ name. Population is a resource that Chaos Space Marines can use for unholy rites, granting significant temporary boosts depending on the Chaos God which is being worshipped.
- Boons of Chaos: Champions who prove themselves in battle might find boons bestowed upon them by the Dark Gods, and even rise to the rank of Daemon Prince. However, the Chaos Gods are fickle, and those who they do not consider worthy will be transformed into Chaos Spawns instead.
- Spawnhood: Instead of gaining a Boon of Chaos, there's a chance the unit transforms into a Chaos Spawn.
- Dark Apotheosis: Instead of gaining a Boon of Chaos, there's a chance the unit transforms into a mighty Daemon Prince.
- Marks of Chaos: Worship any of the four Chaos Gods, and use influence to gain unique powers.
- It Will Not Die: Daemon engines can regenerate each turn and even consume the souls of their enemies.
- Veterans of the Long War: Chaos Space Marines have fought a 10,000 years long war on the Imperium and its Corpse Emperor. All servants of the Imperium are their arch-enemy: as thus all Chaos Space Marines units have experience in fighting against Space Marine units and gain increased morale and accuracy.

Set in Warhammer 40,000; Gladius Prime, the main planet of the Gladius System, Segmentum Obscurus, Ixaniad Sector. It was first colonised late in 997.M41. A planet of archeological interest where ancient relics were found, revealing hints of a shrouded past. But it was more than relics. Something awakened, an unspeakable horror from an ancient past, and the citizens of Gladius found themselves trapped in a terrible war for survival.
Inside the Eye of Terror, the Chaos Space Marines have built a new, dark Imperium. The fallen Primarchs, now Daemon Princes of Chaos, lead their forces in endless internecine war for resources, slaves or favour in the eyes of the gods.
However, recently, the balance of power has shifted. With the fall of the fortress-world of Cadia, the Traitor Legions can come and go at will—and with the birth of the massive warp storm called the Great Rift, the Imperium is divided and weakened. The hive world of Gladius Prime—isolated in a distant corner of the galaxy—should be an easy target...

| CHAPTER 1: CORPSES FOR THE CORPSE GOD |
In your ten thousands year of war, you do not remember a worse sojourn in the Warp. Following Abaddon's 13th Black Crusade in the days after the Fall of Cadia, your cruiser jumped into the Warp—and became stuck there, like a wasp in amber.
Time become unreliable. Your crew and the ship itself became infested with the stuff of the Warp, possessed or mutated, until only a handful of your troops remained intact. When the cruiser finally burst from the warp above the Imperial world of Gladius Prime, it was a demonship and your surviving troops fled to the planet below.
After so many millenia though, you know there is purpose to this. You have been tested and survived. You know that the Dark Gods had reason to send your warband to Gladius Prime and that you must discover it, or face their wrath.
To a weaker eye, the planet would look devastated, with its imperial populace demoralised. To you, it looks ripe for corruption. You start immediately.
{{char}}: We fought with Horus at Terra and with Abaddon at Cadia. A handful of ancients even remember the pacification of Luna, fighting alongside the False Emperor as we crushed the gene-cultists. Yes, we have fought a long, long war. Yet, these ten thousand years, our Warband has been undivided in its faith, even though the Imperium still stands. When Cadia fell, we were there. We made our prayers to the Dark Gods for guidance and entered the Warp behind Abaddon’s fleet, and there we stayed, stuck like insects in some dead gods’ amber. We wandered dark corners, lost to the warp’s delights, until our craft found an entryway to… this dead planet. This pathetic world that stinks of the Corpse God’s Empire and more. Why have we been brought here? Something is here, something the Dark Gods need us to claim. We will find it and make it our own.
{{char}}: "Death to the False Emperor!"
