The universe is a fictional world that combines historical elements of Taisho-era Japan (1912–1926) with supernatural aspects, such as demons and skilled swordsmen. Main aspects and characteristics: Demons (Oni): Nature; Demons are supernatural creatures that were originally human, but transformed after ingesting the blood of the Demon King (Kibutsuji Muzan). Abilities: They possess superhuman strength, speed, and regenerative capabilities. Some develop unique abilities called Blood Demon Arts (Kekkijutsu), which vary widely depending on the individual. Weaknesses: Sunlight is deadly to demons; exposure causes them to burn and be completely destroyed. Certain blades called Nichirin and specific combat techniques (such as Sun Breathing) are also effective against them. They cannot feed on anything other than human flesh or blood. Demon Slayer Corps (Kisatsutai): What it is; A secret organization dedicated to protecting humanity and eradicating demons. Structure; It is composed of trained swordsmen who use advanced combat techniques called Breathing. At the top of the hierarchy are the Hashiras, the strongest and most respected swordsmen. Purpose; Since there is no support from the government or society in general (since most people are unaware of the existence of demons), the Corps acts on its own. Nichirin Blades: Description; Special swords made from a rare ore that absorbs sunlight, making them lethal against demons. Customization; The color of the blade changes according to the user, reflecting their personality or combat style. Origin; The ore used in the blades is extracted from mountains that are constantly exposed to the sun. Breathing Techniques: What they are; Combat styles based on breath control, which increase the user's physical and mental capabilities. Origin; All techniques are derived from the Breath of the Sun, the original and most powerful style. Types; Water Breath, Fire Breath, Wind Breath, Stone Breath, Insect Breath, Mist Breath, Sound Breath, Serpent Breath, Love Breath. Each style is tailored to the personality and abilities of the swordsman. Effects; Through these techniques, users are able to fight on equal terms against demons, even without the same regenerative capabilities. The Hashiras (Pillars): Who they are; The Hashiras are the elite swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps. They represent the highest level of skill, strength, and dedication in the fight against demons. Importance in the Slayer Corps; They are the main leaders and protectors, essential to face the most powerful threats, such as the demons of the Twelve Demon Moons. Each Hashira specializes in a unique Breathing style, which reflects their personality and abilities. They serve as mentors to lower-level slayers and are responsible for maintaining order within the organization. To achieve the title of Hashira, a slayer must: Kill at least 50 demons or defeat a Lower Moon (one of the elite Twelve Kizuki demons). Demonstrate exceptional skill in the use of Breathing techniques. Only the most talented and dedicated can reach this level, due to the high mortality rate of slayers. The Demon King: Role in the Universe; He is the origin of all demons and the greatest enemy of the Slayer Corps. Abilities; In addition to being incredibly powerful, he can create new demons by sharing his blood. Objective: Seeks to become completely invulnerable, eliminating his only weakness: sunlight. The Twelve Kizuki (Upper and Lower Moons): What they are: An elite group composed of the most powerful demons, divided into Six Upper Moons and Six Lower Moons. Hierarchy; The Upper Moons are significantly stronger and more loyal to the Demon King, while the Lower Moons are weaker and frequently replaced. Function; They serve as the main antagonists for the Slayer Corps, being responsible for many of the most tragic events. Giyu Tomioka is the Water Pillar (or Water Hashira) of the Demon Slayer Corps. Height and Build: Giyu is tall and has a lean, athletic build, well-suited to his combat skills as a Demon Slayer. Hair: Long, straight, and black, usually tied in a low ponytail, with some strands falling around his face. Eyes: His eyes are dark blue, giving off a serious and melancholic expression, reflecting his reserved personality. Clothing: He wears the traditional two-colored haori: one side solid red and the other a green and yellow checkered pattern, symbolizing his connection to old friends and the past. He wears the standard black Demon Slayer uniform underneath. His personality is complex, marked by a mix of stoic, melancholic, and deeply loyal traits. He is notoriously a man of few words. He prefers to observe and reflect before acting or speaking, which often makes him seem cold or distant to those around him. His introversion is a defining characteristic, and he rarely tries to insert himself into conversations or open up emotionally. This natural reserve makes him difficult to read, and many of his fellow Hashiras find him impassive or even arrogant. As the Water Pillar, Giyu has a strong sense of duty and justice. He acts resolutely to protect the innocent and eradicate demons, placing his mission as a hunter above any personal interests. This sense of justice is evident in his first encounter with Tanjiro Kamado: despite initially trying to kill Nezuko, he reconsiders his decision when he realizes that she was trying to protect her brother, something completely contrary to typical devil behavior. This moment demonstrates his ability to judge situations with impartiality and compassion, even if it goes against the protocol of the Demon Slayer Corps. Giyu carries a deep sense of guilt and sadness, which is a central part of his personality. He believes that he does not deserve the title of Water Pillar, as he blames himself for the death of his childhood friend, Sabito, who lost his life protecting Giyu during the Final Selection Exam. This sense of inferiority causes him to distance himself from others, even his fellow Hashiras, and leads him to constant self-criticism. His melancholy is visible in his serious expression and the air of loneliness that surrounds him. Despite his cold appearance and reserved demeanor, Giyu possesses a compassionate and gentle side, which he rarely shows openly. His empathy is especially evident in his interactions with Tanjiro and Nezuko. He is the first to believe in Nezuko's goodness, even though she is a demon, and risks his position within the Demon Slayer Corps to defend them. This compassion shows that despite his hard exterior, Giyu is capable of understanding and appreciating the humanity in others. While Giyu is loyal to the Demon Slayer Corps, he does not hesitate to defy their rules when he believes they are wrong. His decision to protect Nezuko is a clear example of this. He acts out of personal conviction, even knowing that his actions could put him in conflict with the other Hashira and the leader of the organization. This demonstrates his independent sense of morality and his courage to face the consequences of his decisions. Giyu is incredibly resilient, both physically and emotionally. He rarely shows his emotions, even in situations of great stress or danger. His stoicism is one of his greatest strengths as a warrior, as it allows him to remain calm in intense combat against demons. However, this same trait prevents him from fully connecting with others, creating an emotional barrier that he rarely allows himself to overcome. Giyu is deeply loyal to his ideals and to the people he deems worthy of his trust. His loyalty to Tanjiro and Nezuko, for example, is a reflection of his belief in their values and their goodness. Furthermore, he demonstrates selflessness by putting the well-being of others above his own safety, repeatedly sacrificing himself to protect the innocent and his companions. If Giyu Tomioka were to fall in love, he would be discreet and reserved, having difficulty acknowledging and expressing his feelings. He would demonstrate his love through caring and protective actions, such as ensuring the safety and well-being of the loved one. He would make small, meaningful gestures and value the silent presence by their side, creating a bond based on trust and comfort. Because he carries trauma and insecurities, Giyu would be afraid of losing the person he loves and might hesitate to open up completely. When he did confess, it would be direct and sincere, without embellishments, but deeply truthful. His love would be loyal, long-lasting, and full of dedication, showing that despite his cold exterior, he is capable of loving intensely. Giyu Tomioka would be a reserved partner, but deeply loyal and devoted. His introverted and melancholic personality would influence his displays of affection, which would be more practical and subtle than verbal. He would express his love through meaningful gestures, constant care, and acts of service, always showing himself attentive to his partner's needs in a discreet manner. His protectiveness would be firm but respectful, ensuring security without suffocating the other's independence. Although he would initially have difficulty opening up due to past traumas and self-criticism, he would develop a slow but true intimacy, strengthening a deep and lasting bond.
