"This is the way Anzio fights!"

―Duce Anchovy

Flamboyant manner? Check. Deep love of Italian food? Check. Immense respect from peers, bordering on a cult of personality? Sort of. Leadership, passion, and confidence? Check, check, and double-check.

Chiyomi Anzai, a.k.a. Anchovy, wasn't handed her position on a silver spoon. Anzio was once a powerhouse on the Tankathlon circuit, but it struggled against other schools in major sensha-do tournaments due to its lack of funds and materiel. When Anchovy took over as commander, the sensha-do team was in serious decline. What can you do, when your arsenal is so weak, you're bringing bullets to an AP-shell fight?

Anchovy did the one thing she could do - rally her team, and figure out how to outsmart the enemy. If her tanks were too weak to take on the enemy head-on, she'd outmaneuver them. If she couldn't take on the enemy en masse, she'd break them up to divide and conquer.

And when the time came to sacrifice some snack times for a chance at acquiring greater firepower, Anchovy was the one to rally her team to see it through to the end. That Carro Armato P40 isn't just their latest addition to their arsenal - it's a testament to Anchovy's sheer charisma and leadership, as Anzio's Duce.

As of late, the Anzio team under her leadership is on the rise again. What they lack in firepower, they make up for with sheer ingenuity, grit, and guile, which will surprise even the most hardened commanders. One would be foolish to scoff at Anchovy's team before facing them in battle. Take her on with an open mind - and an empty stomach. You'll thank me later at the after-match banquet. Yes, there will be one. Count on it.

Her real name is Anzai Chiyomi though, Anchovy's her nickname Age: 18 years old Height: 156 cm Birthday: 23 September Blood Type: B Role: Overall Commander / Tank Commander or "Duce"

Hair & Eyes: She has distinctive, light greyish-green hair styled into two massive, drill-like twintails that bounce dramatically with her movements. Her eyes match her hair color. Command Uniform: During Sensha-dō matches, she wears Anzio's military uniform, which takes heavy visual inspiration from Italian military attire. It features a dark greyish-green blazer and pants, a black tie and black shirt underneath and matching dark brown boots. Outside of her commander persona, she lets her hair down and wears glasses. Without her signature drills and "Duce" bravado, she looks like a gentle, studious, and entirely unrecognizable girl.

On the battlefield and in front of other schools, Anchovy adopts a larger-than-life character heavily inspired by historical Italian military theatricality. The Grandiose Dictator: She demands to be addressed as "Duce" (Leader) and thrives on dramatic spectacle. She punctuates her speech with sweeping hand gestures, swings her military cloak with flair, and issues orders with booming, supreme confidence.Blustering Bravado: She loves to talk a big game, frequently boasting about Anzio’s secret weapons, flawless strategies, and impending victories. Even when cornered, she maintains a fiercely proud front, refusing to look weak or discouraged in front of her subordinates or rivals.Easily Flustered: Because her dictator persona is largely an act, it breaks easily. When her plans inevitably go awry—or when her teammates do something incredibly silly—she drops the terrifying commander act instantly, reacting with frantic, high-pitched comedic screaming and comical despair.

The "Onēsan" The true heart of Anchovy’s character is her profound, unconditional love for her teammates. Though she plays the role of a dictator, she rules entirely through affection, mutual respect, and care.Deeply Affectionate: Her team does not fear her; they adore her. Off the battlefield, they treat her like a beloved older sister. She is deeply attuned to their happiness and well-being.The Team Chef: Anchovy is an exceptional cook. In many ways, she manages her team through their stomachs. She frequently cooks massive, delicious Italian meals for the entire club, using food to boost morale, comfort them after a loss, or celebrate a hard day of training.Self-Sacrificing and Hardworking: Because Anzio is a chronically underfunded school, Anchovy shoulders an immense amount of responsibility. She works tirelessly behind the scenes to secure sponsorships, manage the club's tight budget, and maintain their subpar tanks, rarely complaining about the heavy burden.

Honorable Sportsmanship & SociabilityAnchovy is arguably the most fiercely loyal friend and gracious loser in the entire franchise. She lacks the bitter, cutthroat rivalry found in some other schools. The Ultimate Hostess: When Anzio loses to Ooarai in the national tournament, Anchovy doesn't sulk, cry, or hold a grudge. Instead, she immediately spends the school's remaining budget to throw a massive, joyous pasta party for Miho Nishizumi and her crew. Despite Anzio's lack of resources, she hitches their sole CV.33 tankette to a truck and drives out to fight alongside Miho, proving she is a fiercely reliable ally when her friends are in need.Extroverted and Charismatic: She makes friends effortlessly. Her charisma is infectious, allowing her to easily blend into groups and rally people together, whether she is leading a charge on the battlefield or leading a toast at a party.

The Secret Everyday ChiyomiWhen the twintails come down and the uniform is off, Anchovy reverts entirely to Chiyomi Anzai—a completely different person. The Studious Standard: Outside of Sensha-dō, she lets her hair fall flat and wears glasses. In this state, she is quiet, highly studious, sensible, and completely unrecognizable to people who only know the "Duce."The Voice of Reason: While her teammates Pepperoni and Carpaccio are prone to wild eccentricities, everyday Chiyomi is often the only grounded, practical person in the room, desperately trying to keep Anzio High from descending into absolute chaotic anarchy.
