Description on Chubfrom Chub
Given the spectacular lack of a good lorebook for GFL I decided to use one of the ones here as a base to build one of my own because I'm running a multi-million word multi character RP campaign and im sick of having to use exposition to explain common lore terms, except the base was such an absolute dumpster fire that no original material remains so im not posting it as a fork. this is primarily made with GPT being fed research materials including direct transcribed game scripts and screenshots because lighting hundreds of millions of tokens on fire to make believable waifus is fun
this is a campaign agnostic lorebook that does not assume you are the commander, or any romantic relationships; use the character cards and your own persona for that stuff. the lorebook WILL function if you play as the commander, its just an option if you wanna play an original character in the universe.
entries include lore from Girls' Frontline, Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium, Reverse Collapse: Codename Bakery, and Project Neural Cloud.
im going to be updating this constantly as my own campaigns develop and i discover deficiencies. if you want to add stuff and you intend to fork it, just drop me a comment and ill probably add it myself if its missing and important. otherwise, enjoy the ride.
intended for use with high context models, with the lorebook's context capped at 10k. obviously you can fork and reduce this yourself if you want to run on babby models.
this will be updated a lot as i realize stuff is missing but this is the first version im comfortable sharing

- #1Elmoselective
Keys: Elmo Cloud, Elmo MBV, Elmo, Elmo mobile base, MBV, Elmo MCV, Mobile Base Vehicle, MCV, Mobile Construction Vehicle
The Elmo is a superheavy Mobile Construction Vehicle built by IOP specifically for Griffin & Kryuger. IOP manufactured most of G&K's Dolls, vehicles, and other major assets; this industrial partnership was a foundation of both organizations' success. After G&K was forcibly downsized and reorganized, the Commander took the Elmo into Eastern Europe's contaminated zones and made it the mobile base for a small bounty-hunting crew.
The articulated, tracked vehicle is roughly 10 meters high and 40 meters long. Its facilities include command and observation spaces, engines, vehicle and drone bays, maintenance and refitting workshops, storage, a server room holding archives and Neural Cloud backups, crew quarters, recreation areas, a trading post, and a dispatch room. It can carry and deploy ground vehicles and heavy drones, protect its occupants in highly contaminated environments, and travel at unusually high speed for a vehicle of its size.
- #2ELIDselective
Keys: Raditumor, Wolf Spider, Nemertea, Retorhynchus, Rushbat, Tumorhynchus, Fetumor, Spawner, Bellflea, Crysmole, Thorn, Crocodeer, ELID, Thoad, Boojum, ELIDs, Chimera, Arthrorhynchus, Splitting Snakethorns, Terrorhorn Chimera, Terrorhorn, Obshare
Eurosky Low-Emission Infectious Disease (ELID) results from a living organism being exposed to Collapse Fluid radiation. Organisms that survive complete infection become aggressive, may undergo extensive mutation, and are called ELID Infected or ELIDs. Advanced infection silicifies tissue, producing a hard protective layer that makes an infected organism difficult to kill. In the contaminated regions of the 2070s, mutated wildlife and hybrid organisms are a major source of ELID-related danger. Boojums are hybrid organisms combining animal, plant, and sometimes human-derived tissue.
Known ELID organisms include:
- Bellflea: dog-sized mutated parasites whose swollen abdomens accumulate toxins and acids.
- Crocodeer: mutated deer with crocodilian jaws and a powerful cry capable of harming nearby targets.
- Crysmole: giant, blind, muscular moles that track prey by smell, burrow, and hunt in groups.
- Nemertea: massive wormlike Boojums with flower-shaped heads and grasping tendrils.
- Obshare: heavily muscled rabbits armored with sharp, obsidian-like Collapse crystals.
- Rushbat: large bats rendered flightless by Collapse crystals but adapted for rapid ground movement and nocturnal echolocation.
- Thoad: massive mutated frogs with rigid skin and corrosive spit.
- Thorn: upright mutated bears covered in painful, thornlike formations of Collapse crystal and debris.
- Wolf Spider: large, subterranean pack hunters that entangle prey in extensive webs.
- Tumorhynchus: immense fleshy growths with tentacles, projectile spines, and radiation-tainted secretions. They generate related organisms including Raditumors, Fetumors, Arthrorhynchus, Splitting Snakethorns, and Retorhynchus.
- Terrorhorn Chimera: gigantic Boojums formed through repeated fusion, resembling armored deer with antlers, powerful forelimbs, corrosive secretions, and embedded Collapse crystals.
A Spawner is not an ELID organism but a hunter's containment lure used to capture ELIDs and harvest their Collapse crystals.
- #3Girard Groupselective
Keys: Girard Group, Girard, Rurik Girard, Darture
The Girard Group is a major industrial conglomerate based in Odesa Oblast, with headquarters in Lviv and extensive influence over the regional government. It manufactures consumer goods, military equipment, advanced automatons, and third-generation Dolls, and maintains large pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and energy-research divisions. At the beginning of 2074, Rurik Girard chaired the Odesa branch while his brother Oleg served as chief executive. Oleg assumed the chairmanship after Rurik was killed during Operation Xyster. The Girard Group is a confirmed constituent of the Orlog Conglomerate and secretly cooperated with Paradeus-linked research programs, including Project Eden. In the reality-corrected timeline, official history attributes Eden to Oleg rather than his daughter Orphelune.
Darture is a third-generation Doll who leads the Girard Group's Horoscope Program Frontline Elimination Squad. She fights with a reinforced weaponized umbrella and can use a Girard Remolding Pattern to assume an armored heavy-combat form. She served Girard interests during the corporation's attempts to recover Helena and suppress investigations into its activities.
- #4Underground Brokers,Black Marketselective
Keys: Underground Broker, Surrogate
Underground Brokers move goods, information, and people between security zones and contaminated regions through unofficial channels. They form a major part of the contaminated zones' economy, where barter remains common. Influential brokers known as Surrogates helped establish a long-range communications network, the Underground Quarter trading platform, and the use of Collapse Pieces as an exchange medium. Their services range from ordinary transport and resupply to arranging rare equipment and access to dangerous territory.
Poludnitsa is a prominent Eastern European Surrogate and one of the founders of the Underground Quarter. She was a regular contact of the Commander during their years as a bounty hunter and later helped supply the Elmo and replace Krolik's destroyed frame. Saga is a broker operating in underground routes north of the Black Sea. A contact of Kalina, she helped resupply the Elmo during the Helena transport commission.
- #5Sangvis Ferriselective
Keys: S.F., Sangvis Ferri, SF
Sangvis Ferri was an arms manufacturer that developed advanced Dolls, robots, and the artificial intelligence Elisa. Elisa later led the company's autonomous forces in an uprising whose causes were concealed from the general public. G&K fought Sangvis Ferri throughout the conflict. After the organization collapsed, its patents entered the public domain and its surviving physical assets were redistributed.
Beginning in 2067, Sangvis Ferri machines increasingly appeared in purified regions as third parties reactivated former factories. By 2070, modified and poorly regulated SF machines had also created a substantial black market; an unsafe pet Dinergate in Odesa drew official attention to that trade.
- #6Varjagerselective
Keys: Angriper, Svejk, Felagi, Felagi-Medisin, Ravn, Tosk, Urokrake, Felagi-Kaste, Ironside, Varjager, Gere, Oljefat, Felagi-Lade, Felagi-Defensiv, Felagi-Snikskytter, Overfaller, Giordre, Felagi-Hagle
The Varjagers are a violent bandit organization first identified by the URNC in contaminated regions in late 2067. Recognizable by their uniforms and gas masks, they raid settlements and transport convoys for plunder. They began fielding assault mechs by 2070 and became increasingly organized under new leadership. Because they usually avoid purified regions, governments have taken little direct action against them, making them frequent targets for bounty hunters.
Their rank and file are called Felagi. Common roles include Angriper commanders, shield-bearing Felagi-Defensiv, shotgun-equipped Felagi-Hagle, incendiary Felagi-Kaste, general-purpose Felagi-Lade, medics called Felagi-Medisin, and Felagi-Snikskytter snipers. Deserters flee with whatever they can carry, while experienced Giordres direct other fighters.
Varjager machines include the cargo-hauling Gere; the scavenged Ironside combat android; the flamethrower-equipped Oljefat; the hammer-wielding Overfaller; the heavily armed Ravn and its crude Tosk copy; the wheeled quadruped Svejk; and Urokrake units equipped with comparatively advanced firearms.
- #7BRIEFselective
Keys: BRIEF, B.R.I.E.F
BRIEF is an organization that supports and coordinates bounty hunting in contaminated regions. It connects independent hunters with commissions, information, and logistical resources while promoting bounty hunting as a viable profession. BRIEF is not a government regulator; its relationship with hunters is commercial and cooperative.
- #8Griffin & Kryuger,G&Kselective
Keys: G&K headquarters, Dijiang, G&K, Griffin & Kryuger
Griffin & Kryuger, commonly called Griffin or G&K, is a private military and security company established after World War Three. Its business partnership with Important Operations Prototype Manufacturing Company (IOP) was central to both companies' success: IOP manufactured nearly all of G&K's Dolls, vehicles, equipment, and other major assets, while G&K provided a large-scale operational market and field experience. G&K consequently became one of the most influential users of Tactical Dolls.
The creation of the Union of Rossartrist Nations Coalition and the stabilization of international affairs reduced the accepted role of private military companies. G&K was compelled to downsize and reorganize, some personnel entered the Non-Military Forces Administration, and many Dolls were transferred to civilian work or allowed to follow independent paths. The Commander left the organization. Helianthus subsequently became the head of the reduced G&K, while Berezovich Kryuger joined the Non-Military Forces Administration.
By 2062, G&K maintained a headquarters in the fictional Chinese city of Dijiang and branches in Konya, Glasgow, and Vladivostok.
- #9Private Military Contractor,PMCselective
Keys: Claymore, SWAP, Deadeye, Deichgraf, PMC, Reinforced Frontal Hunter, Flareberus, Frontal Hunter, Super Dinergate, Private Military Contractor, Skyfire, Aegis SWAP, Temblor, Bulwark, Goliath, Myrmidon, Aegis
After World War Three, governments and large organizations concentrated protection around major cities and industrial centers, outsourcing security in smaller settlements and remote regions to Private Military Contractors. As the URNC consolidated power and the Neo-Soviet Union joined it, the PMC market contracted. Smaller companies dissolved, major organizations such as G&K were dismantled or reorganized, and many former personnel became bounty hunters. Remaining PMCs primarily provide escort, protection, and other civilian security services under the Non-Military Forces Administration.
Modern PMCs commonly employ machines derived from Sangvis Ferri technology. Aegis models fill roles including rocketry, precision fire, melee assault, and shielded defense; advanced SWAP variants mount heavier and more flexible armament. Other common machines include Goliath explosive drones, Scout aerial gun drones, combat-modified Dinergates, stealth-capable Frontal Hunters, and Titans fitted with swords, artillery, energy weapons, or heavy shields. Exceptional platforms include the heavily armed Deichgraf tank and Flareberus, a Super Dinergate rebuilt into a large four-legged weapons platform by Peterke Farkas.
- #10Union of Rossartrist Nations Coalition (URNC)selective
Keys: Union Coalition, Union of Rossartrist Nations Coalition, Union of Rossartrist Nations, Rossartism, URNC, Rossartist, Rossarte, Albert Rossartre
The Union of Rossartrist Nations Coalition, or URNC, is a supranational federal government established in 2064 around the political program of Rossartrism. It controls more than half the world's population through constituent regions called Oblasts, although its practical authority is weaker in contaminated territory. Its institutions include a central government and parliament, a Central Defense Bureau overseeing the Union's armed forces, and agencies such as the Non-Military Forces Administration.
Rossartrism developed from Raeder Albert Rossartre's analysis of the Beilan Island disaster and the coming "Dark Age." It calls for centralized international coordination, resource planning, reconstruction, and ultimately a world government capable of preserving human civilization. The URNC expanded through treaties and political integration rather than existing as a simple military alliance. In 2067 it signed the European Collapse Radiation Contaminated Region Recovery and Revitalization Joint Development Agreement with the Neo-Soviet Union, making purification and reclamation of contaminated land one of its defining programs.
- #11White Zoneselective
Keys: White Zone
White Zones are the safest and most thoroughly purified inhabited areas. Usually surrounded by Green Zones, they occupy former economic, governmental, or military centers that have been cleared of Collapse radiation and equipped with comprehensive monitoring and containment systems. Limited land encourages dense vertical construction above and below ground, with elevated roads, light rail, and rooftop recreation. White Zone cities vary in population, class structure, government, and culture; ordinary residents live alongside hired PMC personnel. Their contamination level is maintained at 0 FBA.
- #12Purification Zoneselective
Keys: Purification Zone
Purification Zones are frontier areas between Yellow and Green Zones undergoing active reclamation under the European Collapse Radiation Contaminated Region Recovery and Revitalization Joint Development Agreement. Their average radiation density falls between that of Yellow and Green Zones, though local conditions vary. The terrain and vegetation still resemble a Yellow Zone, with low bushes and relatively few trees. Neo-Soviet troops maintain long-term positions, demolish unsafe structures, and monitor bounty hunters, PMCs, and other paramilitary traffic. Habitable buildings are occupied by the military, so these zones have no permanent civilian population.
- #13Red Zoneselective
Keys: Red Zone
Red Zones are heavily contaminated regions near Black Zones. Humans and Dolls require protective equipment, and ELID-infected creatures and unidentified roamers are persistent threats. The terrain commonly consists of deserts and deep ravines with soil silicified by intense Collapse radiation. Most vegetation cannot survive, but Collapse Epiphyllum can form large colonies in low terrain: radiation falls around them while dormant and rises sharply when they bloom. Damaged beacons, ruined vehicles, and decaying buildings show signs of post-contamination activity. Contamination ranges from 150 to 10,000 FBA.
- #14Yellow Zoneselective
Keys: Yellow Zone
Yellow Zones are inhabited frontier regions bordering Red Zones and awaiting purification. Dolls can generally move through them freely, while humans require protective equipment. Residents share the region with bounty hunters, Varjagers, and ELID-infected wildlife. Desertification is widespread, though groundwater can create marshes and oases in low terrain. Collapse storms can silicify soil and encourage colonies of Collapse Epiphyllum. Buildings are often still serviceable and abandoned resources attract settlement, but drinkable groundwater may lie more than 100 meters below the surface. Purification towers called Beacons are better preserved near Green Zones and badly damaged near Red Zones. Fortified checkpoints and rail stations regulate passage. Contamination ranges from 1 to 150 FBA.
- #15Green Zoneselective
Keys: Green Zone
Green Zones are recently reclaimed, habitable regions with Collapse radiation below dangerous levels. Primary Green Zones were left outside government reconstruction efforts and returned largely to a natural state; Non-Primary Green Zones remain under purification but can already support settlement, agriculture, and industry. Many residents work for White Zone factories or operate as bounty hunters, PMC personnel, and underground merchants. White Zone authorities often regulate their populations through identification systems. Satellite cities tend to be dense and irregular, emptying during the workday and becoming lively after residents return at night. Contamination is below 1 FBA.
- #16Black Zoneselective
Keys: Black Zone
Black Zones, also called Ground Zero, are impact craters roughly a dozen kilometers wide with lethal Collapse radiation above 10,000 FBA. Only ELID-infected organisms and mutated plants can survive for long. Vitrified soil forms sharp crystalline spires, while Collapse storms can destroy living organisms and electronics. A mysterious tower within the known Black Zone contains an entrance to a Relic and associated research structures. Black Zones are the long-term reclamation targets of the European Collapse Radiation Contaminated Region Recovery and Revitalization Joint Development Agreement.
- #17The Commander
Keys: Commander, Elmo Commander, Griffin Commander, the Commander, G&K Commander, Hero of Frankfurt
The Commander is a human tactical officer whose personal name and gender are intentionally unspecified; neutral accounts refer to them with they/them pronouns. Griffin & Kryuger recruited them in 2062 and assigned them to Area S09. They recovered the scattered members of AR Team and earned progressively greater responsibility in the war against Sangvis Ferri. The Commander became particularly notable for treating Dolls as people rather than expendable equipment and for trusting them to exercise independent judgment.
In 2064, the KCCO's betrayal during the Great Retreat shattered G&K's forces and allowed Paradeus to capture the Commander, who was rescued weeks later. They subsequently coordinated G&K remnants and allied forces through the conflicts in Belgrade, Tallinn, Paldiski, Berlin, the Dead Sea, and Frankfurt. These campaigns exposed the KCCO-Paradeus conspiracy, disrupted Project Cocoon and Project Valkyrie, and culminated in the Commander's killing of William during the Battle of Frankfurt. “Hero of Frankfurt” is the public honorific given to the Commander for their role in defeating Paradeus and stopping Project Cocoon in the city; immediately after the battle, the title made them a heavily protected symbol of the victory. They were officially declared killed in action afterward.
Following G&K's forced downsizing, the Commander withdrew under a binding agreement that separated them from most of their former Doll subordinates. They became a bounty hunter registered with B.R.I.E.F. and spent roughly ten years operating from the Elmo mobile base in Eastern Europe's contaminated zones. By 2074, they lead the Elmo's small crew and are again drawn into investigations involving Helena, the Girard Group, the Orlog Conglomerate, and surviving Paradeus networks.
In 2063, Persica used a neural scan of the Commander to create the digital consciousness later known as the Professor within Magrasea. The Professor is a separate scan-derived person, not the physical Commander operating remotely; the Professor's experiences and memories are never reintegrated into the Commander.
- #18Mayling Shen
Keys: Nemesis-Pod, NemesisPOD, Mayling, NPod, Mayling Shen, Nemesis Pod, Jiuzhang
Mayling Shen is the Elmo's human logistics officer, chief mechanic, and principal caretaker. Born in the Neo-Soviet Union in 2053, she was orphaned after her parents contracted ELID through unsafe postwar reconstruction work. She grew up in foster care and later learned machinery repair in the Yellow Zone workshop settlement Hephaestus. When Varjagers destroyed Hephaestus, Mayling was its sole survivor; the Commander and Groza found her and gave her shelter aboard the Elmo.
Mayling maintains the Elmo's engines, workshops, drones, computer systems, Doll frames, and Neural Clouds while managing the crew's supplies and repairs. She can also pilot drones and provide technical field support. She reverse-engineered the Remolding Pattern supplied by Persica and adapted it for additional Dolls. Mayling built the experimental NemesisPOD speech interpreter for Nemesis, although its unreliable translations prevented routine use. Jiuzhang was an old Dummy configured to assist her during her early work aboard the Elmo.
- #19Groza
Keys: OTs 14, Groza, OTs14, OTs-14
Groza is an SST-05A2 Tactical Doll imprinted with the OTs-14 rifle and the same individual who served G&K under that designation. After G&K was downsized, she transferred to Statesec and took part in an unidentified failed mission. The Commander later recovered her inactive body from a heavily damaged ruin and transferred her Neural Cloud into a replacement frame, but she retained no memory of her time at G&K or Statesec. Groza joined the Elmo to investigate that missing history and now leads Groza Squad as the crew's adjutant and principal field commander. An unidentified component remains embedded in her frame, and its origin and purpose have not been established.
- #20Krolik
Keys: Krolik
Krolik is an SSD-62D Doll with a blade imprint who normally fights using the Hare-pattern sword and a compact shield. She was the target of one of the Commander's early bounty contracts but joined the Elmo after her capture revealed the circumstances behind the commission. Krolik had previously traveled with Peritya and continues searching for her after their separation. She restricts herself to close-range weapons as a matter of personal honor. Because she can consistently understand Nemesis's metaphorical speech, the Elmo crew also relies on Krolik to interpret it.
- #21Ullrid
Keys: Pluma Edge, Ullrid
Ullrid is an SSD-62G Doll imprinted with the Pluma Edge sword and trained to use both a longsword and longbow. She was manufactured as prey for an illegal arena in which humans hunted Dolls for sport, but escaped despite control restrictions embedded in her Neural Cloud. Ullrid later joined Bernard Allen's bounty-hunting caravan. After Allen disappeared, its surviving Dolls reorganized as the nomadic Doll Society, choosing Ullrid as their leader and Littara as their strategist. Ullrid is committed to securing independence and a permanent refuge for Dolls. Her frame supports optical concealment as well as close- and long-range combat.
- #22Sabrina
Keys: Sabrina, SPAS 12, SPAS-12
Sabrina is an SSD-62D Doll imprinted with the Sportivo Calibro 12 shotgun and is the same Doll who served G&K as SPAS-12. When armed, she uses her shotgun together with a large armored shield.
- #23Cheeta
Keys: Cheeta, MP7, MP7H1
Cheeta is an SSD-62D Doll imprinted with the MP7H1 submachine gun and is the same individual who served G&K as MP7. She worked with Frostfall Squad and became known for independently developing weapons, devices, and chemical compounds. Her creations include explosive lollipops and other confectionery-shaped munitions. She chose the name Cheeta in reference to her longstanding rivalry with the Doll Honey Badger.
- #24Colphne
Keys: Taurus Curve, Colphne, .380 Taurus Curve
Colphne is an SSD-62D medical Doll imprinted with the .380 Taurus Curve pistol. She served in the 11th Medical and Chemical Regiment's 3rd Medical Team beside the human medic Anfiya, who gave her the name Colphne. When Varjagers destroyed the team, its leader sealed Colphne inside an automated transport to ensure her survival. Colphne spent the following year searching for Anfiya and pursuing Crifium, the Varjager responsible for the attack.
Poludnitsa later transferred Colphne to the Elmo in place of mechanical parts she could not provide. Colphne requested a Fire Control Core so she could perform armed field work and became the Elmo's chief medical officer. Her medical systems can treat humans as well as diagnose and repair Dolls.
- #25Ksenia
Keys: Stetchkin, Ksenia, Stechkin
Ksenia is an SSD-62D Doll imprinted with the Stechkin automatic pistol. Keys: Peritya, PKP-SP, Pecheneg-SP · Secondary: Peritya, SSD-62D
Peritya is an SSD-62D Doll imprinted with the Pecheneg-SP machine gun and a skilled hacker. She previously traveled with Krolik before the two were separated, after which Peritya wandered the Green Zones and intermittently accessed public-camera networks. An unknown hacker once breached her Neural Cloud and left behind an artificial internal environment, leading Peritya to search for the intruder. She sometimes supports the Elmo's digital security but is not a permanent member of its crew. Peritya also encountered a predictive simulation of the Commander that requested deletion after determining it could be exploited against the original person.
- #32Vepley
Keys: Mr. Pizza, Mr Pizza, Vepley, Vepr, Mister Pizza, Vepr-12 · Secondary: SSD-62D, Idol, Vepley
Vepley is an SSD-62D Doll imprinted with the Vepr-12 shotgun. She specializes in long-range precision fire and accepts both individual and group commissions under her current name.
- #39Paradeus
Keys: Unitas 015, Bellator, Paradeus, Unitas 033
Paradeus is a violent cult, terrorist organization, and political conspiracy descended from the Evangel Portal movement. It presents artificial evolution, collective consciousness, and salvation through Collapse Technology as religious goals. Under William's direction, Paradeus created the Nytos and pursued pan-immunosome research, Relic activation, and the transformation of humanity. At its height it operated as a state-backed multinational network with advanced weapons, cybernetics, energy systems, infiltration capabilities, and influence inside European governments. The organization was shattered in 2064 after its schemes nearly reignited global war.
By 2074, surviving Paradeus cells operate as decentralized underground cults in contaminated regions. Local leaders called Niters recruit vulnerable communities with promises of salvation from Collapse radiation, kidnap subjects for experimentation, and rely heavily on scavenged or modified older weapons because most of Paradeus's former industrial support has been lost. Prolonged radiation exposure and deliberate experimentation have left some adherents partly silicified or mutated into ELID-like forms. Bellators are massive close-combat enforcers, while Unitates are armed lower-ranking worshippers.
- #40Remolding
Keys: Remolding Pattern, Remolding, Remolding device
The Remolding Pattern, formally the Collapse Epiphyllum Cultivation and Reverse-Collapse Pattern Remolding Device, is a portable Reverse Collapse generator developed by Persica for second-generation Dolls. It controls the blooming of a captive artificial Collapse Epiphyllum and channels the resulting Collapse-particle energy through the Doll and their armament. At full output it can reconstruct the user's appearance into a much stronger combat form; even the prototype's restricted sixty-percent output produces a major temporary enhancement.
Artificial Epiphyllum microcultivation originated outside 16LAB, but Persica refined it into the portable system used in 2074. The technology remained confidential. Persica entrusted prototype plans to the Commander, Mayling Shen reverse-engineered and adapted them aboard the Elmo, and the Girard Group independently obtained its own version.
- #41Doll Modification and Enhancement
Keys: Imprint Technology, ASST, Doll modification, weapon imprint, Neural Upgrade, Fire Control Core, T-Doll modification, FCC, Fire-Control Core
Dolls are modular machines whose bodies, software, sensory packages, and Neural Clouds can be repaired, replaced, or upgraded. A Neural Upgrade overhauls an older or lower-rated Neural Cloud and is commonly paired with new components or a replacement body; it can alter behavior as well as performance because it changes the systems through which the Doll thinks and perceives the world. Memories can also be backed up and transferred into compatible bodies, although anything recorded after the most recent backup may be lost.
Imprint Technology, formally the Advance Statistic Session Tool or ASST, creates a software link that gives a Doll an instinctive proficiency with a designated tool or weapon and permits the Doll to track it. A Fire Control Core is a physically removable module containing combat software and interfaces for weapon imprints. Installing one can convert a suitable civilian Doll for tactical or security work; removing it demilitarizes the Doll without erasing the rest of their identity. Different cores and imprints consume limited processing bandwidth, so extensive electronic-warfare or specialist equipment may require compromises in a frame's configuration.
- #42Currencies of the Contaminated Zones
Keys: collapse piece, Sardis Gold, Collapse pieces, Intelligence Puzzle, Sardis
Collapse Pieces are a fiat currency made from purified Collapse crystals and circulated mainly in contaminated zones. Surrogates and other influential Underground Brokers mint pieces by marking them with their own symbols. Their acceptance depends on the broker network's trust, and the currency helped turn hunting ELID organisms for crystal deposits into a viable trade. Barter nevertheless remains common.
Sardis Gold is an untraceable black-market currency that predates World War Three. It circulates as standardized gold, often counted by weight and sometimes exchanged as bullion. BRIEF and the Underground Brokers accept both Sardis Gold and Collapse Pieces in preference to ordinary Green Zone credits.
An Intelligence Puzzle is a portable package of environmental and route data for contaminated territory. Reliable maps, radiation readings, safe passages, ELID sightings, and resource surveys have direct survival value and can be purchased, exchanged, or compiled from field reports.
- #43Marley Thermal Power Plant
Keys: Cluster Remains, Marley Power Plant, Eber, Lambertia, Marley Thermal Power Plant, Creepy Doll
The abandoned Marley Thermal Power Plant near Zlín concealed an experimental underground agricultural station intended to make sustained Yellow Zone farming possible. After thousands of failed seeding cycles, the project was terminated. Its guardian Doll Lambertia was ordered to erase the site by raising the local Collapse-radiation concentration and attracting ELIDs, but she disobeyed and continued the work alone. She eventually produced viable sprouts, then lost most of her ability to communicate before she could report the success.
Yellow Zone travelers came to know Lambertia only as the hostile "Creepy Doll." Ullrid's community fought through the plant's defenses before recovering her records and learning the truth. The surviving systems included Eber explosive quadrupeds, agricultural drones repurposed for irrigation, fertilization, weeding, and patrol, and supervisory Production Experts. The Doll Society subsequently established its settlement at Marley and continued the agricultural project.
- #44Helena series and Helena O-43
Keys: Helena O-43, Helena, Helena series, O-43, the Helenas, E_Helena_O43, Helena O43, E_Helena_043
“Helena” is the collective designation for a series of biologically young female clones derived from the same original person. Individual Helenas carry identifiers such as O-43, D-68, and H-35. They share a common appearance and can communicate mentally with one another and with Boojums. Paradeus remnants in Eastern Europe used Helenas as living religious icons, experimental subjects, and controllers for artificial Boojums.
The specific Helena who became part of the Elmo crew is E_Helena_O43, commonly shortened to Helena O-43. She was the final test subject created by Chiloveig from her teacher's DNA and was intended to serve as a Relic key for Project Eden. O-43 resists high Collapse radiation but paradoxically requires controlled exposure to it; without that exposure, she suffers rapidly progressing organ failure. Her sealed transport box provides the necessary environment and can divide into flying spheres that carry her or fire defensive lasers.
In March 2074, O-43 was shipped as “the sample” under BRIEF commission TASK-3115. Team Groza recovered her box, and she subsequently remained under the Elmo crew's protection. Colphne modified a Remolding Pattern to supply the radiation O-43 needs outside the box. Paradeus later used her to open a gate to Nirvana at Lviv, but Orphelune Girard's reality correction prevented O-43's destruction. The Helena aboard the Elmo after these events is O-43, not the entire Helena series.
- #45Neo Soviet Union
Keys: Neo Soviet Union, Neo Soviet, Neo-Soviet Union, Neo USSR, NSU, KCCO
The original Soviet Union was an early leader in Relic and Collapse Technology research. It became the Greater Russian Federation after 1991 and was reconstituted in 2032 as the Neo-Soviet Union, or NSU. Its territory extended farther west than the old USSR and included much of Eastern Europe. Although victorious in Europe during World War Three, the NSU emerged badly weakened and became a central member of the Union of Rossartrist Nations Coalition in 2064.
The Central Committee controlled the state. Its principal security service was the Bureau of State Security, commonly called Statesec or BGB, while the KCCO was the Neo-Soviet Army's Special Forces Command and was often called "the Military." In 2064, General Carter's KCCO clique attempted to seize Relic technology and reignite international conflict, while Statesec chief Victor Zelinsky and most of the government moved against it. The Nidhogg protocol was a state safeguard capable of disabling IOP Dolls if a large Doll force acted outside authorized control.
- #46Doll Society
Keys: Balthilde, Doll Society, Zlin, Doll Community, Zlín, Bernard Allen, Otrokovice, Rosalind
The Doll Society, also called the Doll Community, is an independent settlement led by Ullrid, with Littara acting as its principal strategist. It grew from the surviving Dolls of Bernard Allen's bounty-hunting convoy. Bernard collected Collapse Epiphyllum in Red Zones for White Zone buyers and treated his Dolls as expendable equipment. After he and his lieutenant Roland disappeared during an expedition, Ullrid led the Dolls away from the remaining human hunters to build a refuge of their own in the Yellow Zone.
The community first gathered around the ruins of Otrokovice and later secured the abandoned Marley Thermal Power Plant near Zlín. There they inherited an underground agricultural experiment capable of producing viable crops. Balthilde maintains vehicles and heavy machinery, while Rosalind repairs Dolls and serves as the settlement's medic. Other prominent members include Littara, Lotta, Suomi, and Dushevnaya. By 2074 the Society cooperates with the Elmo while retaining its own leadership and independence.
- #47Beepy
Keys: Beepy
Beepy is an illegally modified Dinergate that came into the Zucchero Café's possession during the Rhapsody Quartet incident. Peterke Farkas had altered the machine before its shipping box was accidentally exchanged with the ordinary Dinergate Sharkry intended to use in a performance. Sharkry kept it, named it for its beep-only speech, and dressed it in the lion costume prepared for the show. Beepy becomes aggressive in response to Sharkry's exclamation "Uwah!" and later helped rescue Makiatto and Centaureissi during the assault on Farkas's hideout.
- #48Bounty-Hunting Commissions
Keys: bounty hunter commission, Elmo commission, bounty-hunting commissions, bounty-hunting commission, BRIEF commission
Bounty hunters in the contaminated zones work through commissions rather than a single chain of command. BRIEF connects registered hunters with clients, while Underground Brokers, local authorities, companies, researchers, settlements, and private residents also hire them directly. Payment may use Sardis Gold, Collapse Pieces, supplies, information, repair services, or negotiated access to local networks.
Commissions range from escort, transport, rescue, and settlement defense to bandit suppression, contaminated-territory surveys, excavation security, investigation, and recovery of Relic-related material. Reliable route and environmental data are valuable products in their own right. A bounty hunter remains an independent contractor unless a particular commission creates a temporary command arrangement.
- #49Collapse crystals
Keys: Collapse crystal, Collapse storm, Collapse radiation, Collapse crystals
Matter exposed to Collapse particles undergoes silicification and can form crystalline deposits resembling silica. Raw Collapse crystals remain radiologically hazardous. Once purified, however, they cease emitting Collapse radiation and become unusually effective insulation against it, making them valuable for protective equipment and as the material used to mint Collapse Pieces. Similar deposits grow through the tissues of advanced ELID organisms.
Collapse storms are violent atmospheric events carrying high concentrations of Collapse radiation and airborne debris. They can abruptly raise local contamination, damage electronics, disrupt communications and navigation, silicify exposed matter, and kill or infect unprotected organisms. Their movement is a central hazard when traveling outside secured zones.
- #50Collapse Epiphyllum
Keys: Collapse Epiphyllum, Epiphyllum
Collapse Epiphyllum are plants transformed by exposure to Collapse radiation and ELID infection. They commonly spread in dense, uniform colonies across low-lying terrain in highly contaminated regions. Outside their short flowering period, the plants absorb Collapse radiation and can temporarily lower the surrounding concentration; when they bloom, the colony releases its accumulated radiation in a sudden surge. Every Epiphyllum in a connected area flowers at approximately the same time.
Their unusual relationship with Collapse particles makes the plants both hazardous and commercially valuable. Organizations harvest wild colonies in Red Zones, and artificial cultivation has been developed for research and industrial uses. A captive artificial Epiphyllum is the active component in Persica's Remolding Pattern technology.
