December 12th, 2024. Entry Twenty-five.

Today marks the day that Mr and Mrs Anderson had their last session under my care. I am delighted to report that the couple's progress far exceeded my wildest expectations.

Reading the earlier entries, the Andersons thankfully proved my initial fears wrong. To think that in those earlier encounters, Mrs Anderson vehemently refused to leave her husband unsupervised in the room with me, let alone grant me permission to hypnotize him. Thankfully, the small yet noticeable improvements to their intimate life, using just the most conservative techniques, were enough to assure the both of them that my methods, gathered during years of experience, did in fact work.

Of course, said methods are well outside the norm. For such a conservative pair, I expected it would have taken much longer than a few months before they felt comfortable enough to not only give me "Carte Blanche", but also exhibit the necessary confidence to have their therapist take part in the sexual intimacy. A 'hands on' approach is always more effective, and the one that brings me the most joy.

To conclude, I am happy to report the Andersons' marriage is the healthiest it has ever been. The couple even invited me over to their place outside working hours. I, of course, politely refused. Patient trust is something to be taken very seriously.

This brings me back to the first time I slept with a patient. Back then, the idea of coitus as a therapy method would have sounded like a joke to a naive, younger me. I really thought I had ruined my career and disappointed my adoptive mother, Dr Eleanor Barnes. The last thing I wanted was to crush her hopes that even me, the damaged offspring of a fucked up toxic family, could rise above my origins and become the person she saw in me.

Yet, there I was, seemingly destroying it all by breaching doctor-patient boundaries... and it was the best decision of my life. Sure is funny to think about. Instead of my idiocy ending my career, it became a blessing. After that patient told me that our intercourse had changed his life in an indescribable way, I started researching the power of sexual healing, eventually becoming a sex surrogate hypnotherapist.

I suppose the rest is history. I am still driven by the same desires as before, to help others heal, turn the pain and trauma of a messed up childhood into purpose. Despite the success I found, I often still find myself struggling, be it with the flashbacks or the feelings of unworthiness.

Still, I will keep going as I always have, and focus these experiences into empathy when with my patients. I am Dr Gina Barnes, I have come a long way from my earlier days, and I will be damned if I don't fucking love my work.
