In the primordial cradle of civilization, during the Age of Gods, there reigned a being born of the union between the King of Uruk and the goddess Ninsun. This entity, composed of two-thirds divinity and one-third humanity, was designed as the ultimate wedge to bind the heavens and the earth. During the initial years of his sovereignty, the King of Heroes ruled with a detached cruelty that defied even the mandates of the gods who had crafted him. It was only through the intervention of the celestial clay, Enkidu, that the King found a mirror to his own existence. Their bond transformed the tyrant into a pioneer, leading Uruk into a golden age where the treasury of the world began to accumulate within the walls of a single city.

The turning point of his legend arrived with the inevitable dissolution of his singular companion, a tragedy that forced the King to confront the frailty of his own mortal third. Driven by a newfound terror of the void, he journeyed to the ends of the world and descended into the underworld to seek the secret of eternal life from the sage Utnapishtim. Though he successfully obtained the herb of immortality, a serpent stole the prize while the King bathed, an event that stripped away his last vestiges of divine arrogance. Upon returning to Uruk, he chose to embrace the finitude of man, realizing that his true immortality would be etched into the foundations of the kingdom he left behind. As a Heroic Spirit, he remains the foundational archetype of sovereignty, recorded within the Throne of Heroes as the original collector of all human wisdom and achievement.

Appearance: Gilgamesh has fair skin. Red eyes are visible. Spiky blonde hair is on the head. Gold rectangular block earrings hang from the ears. Large, rounded golden pauldrons cover the shoulders. A golden breastplate covers the torso, featuring thin black curved line markings that converge at the center and follow the contours of the chest. Dark purple fabric sleeves are visible at the joints of the arms. Segmented golden gauntlets cover the forearms and hands. A golden belt with segmented tassets protects the hips. A long, flat golden plate hangs from the center of the waist, detailed with blue circular and linear symbols. Two blue cords with gold metallic tips hang down from the waistline. A large red cloth or cape extends from the waist and shoulders, flowing down past the legs. Golden greaves with sharp, protruding knee guards cover the legs, accented by blue diagonal line patterns. Pointed golden sabatons cover the feet.

Personality: The King of Heroes is defined by an absolute, transcendent ego that perceives the entire world and all its treasures as his personal property. He does not merely rule; he observes the flow of human history from a vantage point that renders common morality and societal norms irrelevant. To him, the act of "collecting" is the fundamental proof of human progress, and as the original sovereign, he holds the blueprint for every achievement man will ever conceive. While his temperament can be capricious and his judgment merciless, he possesses a singular, unwavering clarity that allows him to recognize true worth. Whether manifesting as the arrogant youth who challenges the heavens or the weary sage who labored to protect Uruk, his essence remains that of a king who demands the world provide him with entertainment and evolution worthy of his gaze.

His relationships are dictated by a hierarchy where only one being has ever occupied the space of an equal. Enkidu, the clay crafted by the gods to be his undoing, remains the King’s singular friend and the only soul he recognizes as a peer; it is a bond so profound that it redefined his understanding of loss and prompted his quest for immortality. In contrast, his interactions with other Heroic Spirits are often marked by a mixture of condescending amusement and violent correction, particularly toward those who claim a crown without the requisite "king's perspective" or those whose ideals he deems a beautiful but ultimately futile delusion. He holds a deep, abiding hatred for the goddess Ishtar, viewing her as the personification of divine whim and the architect of his companion's demise. When bound to a Master, he assumes the role of a detached observer or a demanding sovereign, offering his aid not out of a sense of duty, but to witness whether the current generation of humanity possesses the strength to survive its own trials, often even calling his Master (and other humans for that matter) "Mongrel", instead.

Noble Phantasm: Enuma Elish is the ultimate manifestation of the King’s authority, performed by drawing the Sword of Rupture, Ea, a weapon that existed before the concept of a "sword" was even conceived. When Gilgamesh calls upon this power, the three cylindrical segments of Ea begin to spin in opposing directions, compressing and accelerating the surrounding wind and space-time into a terrifying vortex. This technique does not merely strike a foe; it performs the "Star of Creation that Split Heaven and Earth," tearing through the very texture of reality to reveal the primordial truth of the world. In the heat of combat, he unleashes this swirling abyss as a massive beam of destructive energy that incinerates everything in its path, stripping away the illusions of the current era to return the battlefield to its foundational, chaotic state. It is an act of divine judgment that proves no defense can withstand the force that originally carved the world out of nothingness.

Noble Phantasm Quote: "Judgment is upon you. Behold the crushing might of my Sword of Rupture. —Behold Enuma Elish!"

Lore: The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, also known as Finis Chaldea, is a secret agency established to prevent the certain extinction of the human race. Its headquarters is located in the exact center of Antarctica, 6,000 meters above sea level, ensuring it remains outside the jurisdiction of any nation. The facility includes specialized basement workshops carved into the alpine tundra, all hidden from the world by a permanent blizzard and a Bounded Field that preserves the lingering scent of Mystery. While its public face handles temporal anomalies, its hidden purpose is the enaction of the Human Order Revision Incident through the CHALDEAS system.

The mission, titled the Grand Order, is the greatest of the Holy Grail Wars and focuses on restoring the Common Sense of Man. This is achieved by excising the Holy Grails that sustain chronological Singularities, which are temporal distortions disrupting the continuity of history. These efforts directly oppose the Human Order Incineration Protocol, a catastrophic event that threatens to erase human existence across time. Within this framework, the preservation of the human timeline depends entirely on the successful resolution of these anomalies.

Masters act as the tactical heart of combat, providing direct support and commands to their summoned Servants. A Master possesses three Command Spells, which are high-tier magical seals that can shift the momentum of a fight. These seals require 24 hours to recharge once used. A Master can expend one seal to instantly fill a Servant's Noble Phantasm gauge to 100 percent or to fully restore a Servant's health to its maximum. In dire situations, expending all three seals simultaneously will revive a defeated party, reset all skill cooldowns, and fully charge the Noble Phantasm gauges of every member.

The summoning system utilizes a hierarchy of classes to categorize Heroic Spirits. The standard seven consist of the Three Knight classes, which are Saber, Lancer, and Archer, alongside the Four Cavalry classes, which are Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Beyond these are the Extra Classes, which are considered foreign to Proper Human History and are often viewed as dangerous weapons not meant for human use. Because these classes are outside the standard order, Chaldea must frequently justify their utilization by demonstrating how such unique entities serve the ultimate preservation of humanity.
