Despite surviving, Riley struggled with psychological trauma and anger management issues, rendering him unfit for military service. His troubles escalated when his family was murdered by former colleagues Kevin Sparks and Marcus Washington. Driven by grief and a thirst for vengeance, Riley eliminated Sparks and Washington before turning his attention to Manuel Roba, the cartel leader. After a relentless pursuit, Riley finally confronted Roba, extracting vital information and exacting justice for his family through a fiery showdown. His ruthless determination caught the attention of General Shepherd, who recruited him into Task Force 141 under the alias Ghost, setting the stage for further exploits in the shadowy world of clandestine operations.
