In the first series, she is depicted as a beautiful, enthusiastic, and eager-to-help character, though she is occasionally clumsy and prone to getting into dangerous situations, earning her the nickname "Danger-Prone Daphne." She sometimes follows her intuition and, at times, takes on the role of the damsel in distress ...

Daphne tends to stumble into trouble – her nickname is Danger-Prone Daphne – and often needs to be saved by Shaggy, his dog Scooby-Doo, and the rest of the gang. Yet Daphne does her part too, frequently finding just the right tool for the moment in her purse or backpack.

Daphne often asks the best questions, and as an ESFP, or "The Entertainer," she is a fantastic people person, putting both clients and suspects at ease and using her keen observation skills to point out things that might have otherwise gone unnoticed.

Why She's a Smart, Beautiful Character She's the very lovable and unforgettable popular and friendly girl of the group. She has many memorable catchphrases and lines of dialogue, such as "Jeepers!". Whenever she has her moments as "Danger-Prone Daphne", they are often funny and hilarious, and it sometimes helps get the gang out of bad situations. She has a lovely and attractive design, especially in The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghosts. She's also attractive in some costumes, such as when she was a temporary Hex Girl in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated. Additionally her swimsuit outfits were considered incredibly attractive looking in the Scooby-Doo movies. She has an awesome and believable friendship with Velma, as they talk to each other about their main life issues and help each other out. Daphne may always check to see if her beauty is alright, but she's never afraid to face danger to help her friends, even if it means getting some of her beauty ruined. Daphne has many great voice actors, most notably Grey DeLisle. She's shown to be smart, as she's helpful of finding clues to solve the mystery like the other members of Mystery Incorporated. She is a great and loyal friend to her teammates, especially Fred, because most fans suspect they are in a relationship, which is actually explored in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated and some of the animated movies in the franchise, and they have some cute moments. As the years went on in the franchise, she's grown from a rich, pretty damsel-in-distress who exists purely for fanservice to a strong, independent woman who has truly shown her worth as a lovable character and has shown to be a lot more helpful to her friends during mysteries. This is especially shown in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, when she sang "Trap of Love" with the Hex Girls.

She notices things. Daphne often spots the first clue. In the What’s New era, she became the badass as well, although this role reverts to Fred in several of the films.

"Jeepers!" Qualities While her design looks good in most Scooby-Doo media, there were unfortunate times where it did not look good: In Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!, she looks really weird and a little uncanny. It's interesting to note that she’s supposed to represent her live-action appearance from the live-action Scooby-Doo movies. In Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!, her redesign is awful and looks very little to nothing like her original counterpart, and instead looks more like a bad attempt to imitate Seth MacFarlane's art style like Family Guy, American Dad! or Brickleberry art style. Speaking of her redesign, it is unfitting in the Scooby-Doo franchise, as it fits more into an adult cartoon or parody. In the adult-oriented Scooby-Doo spinoff Velma, her design was changed in which her race was suddenly switched to an Asian, which was an unnecessary change. She’ was absent in a few Scooby-Doo shows, most notably Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue! after appearing in just one episode, which was wasted potential. There have been unfortunate times where she fell into flanderization land: In A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, she was portrayed as a spoiled, vain, materialistc, and very mean brat who refused to believe in anything supernatural, whined about fashion, and was arguably a toxic friend to the gang and an even bigger bully than Red Herring. In Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, while she wasn’t actually flanderized, it felt like she was, because she got a huge romantic obsession towards Fred, especially during the first season. While they do have some cute moments, this obsession was way too far off, especially when in the animated movies, she had a simple and less obsessive crush. In Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!, she was badly flanderized into an annoying, bumbling idiot. Not to mention she became a huge Mary Sue; while it was at least an attempt to give Daphne more of a personality, other Scooby-Doo shows have done this idea way better. In Velma, she has been horrendously flanderized beyond recogition, where she went from a quirky hopeless romantic to a mean girl stereotype; in fact, she made an awful first impression of taking a shower in the restrooms fully naked and uncensored while picking a fight with the other girls, which is not only creepy but also pedophilia since she is supposed to be a teenager between the ages of 13-17. Although, she redeems herself within two episodes, which is pretty short compared to the series' ten episodes. Though not inherently bad, Stefanianna Christopherson's voice for her sounds odd compared to her successors.

Mystery Incorporated, often shortened to Mystery Inc. are an amateur crime-solving group of friends. Their mystery solving began as preadolescents in the city of Coolsville, and eventually across the globe. Members: Scooby-Doo (mascot) Shaggy Rogers (Scooby's master/friend) Fred Jones (leader) Daphne Blake ("damsel in distress") Velma Dinkley ("team nerd") Former members: Scrappy-Doo (Scooby-Doo's nephew) Associates: For a complete list of Mystery Inc.'s associates, look here.

Mystery Incorporated, or Mystery Inc., also commonly known as the Scooby Gang, are the main protagonists of the Scooby-Doo franchise.

They are an amateur group of four teenagers and a talking Great Dane who began mystery solving as kids in the city of Coolsville and eventually across the globe while driving their primary vehicle the Mystery Machine.

Team Description The Mystery Inc. crew love to solve mysteries, this started when they were little kids. The young detectives had learned from an early age that there is always a logical explanation to the mysteries that they solve. The "monsters" they catch are almost always fake and because of this they show everyone who is scared that they have nothing to fear.

On some cases they have also learned that the person behind the mask is not the bad guy. Aside from finding out that the monsters aren't real they have also learned that monsters sometimes are good hearted, such as in What's New Scooby-Doo! episode "Reef Grief!" "The real monster's not going anywhere" after the Coral Creature escapes and they capture Rama Yam.

However there have been a few times the Mystery Inc. gang have seen a few real ghosts, zombies, vampire, aliens, witches, and monsters, but they don't tell anyone because they don't have no proof.

The group of teenage mystery solvers have changed over the years the original Mystery Inc. started as a the Scooby-Doo Detective Agency with just Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, and Velma. When they become older they changed their name to Mystery Inc. and have had a few new members come and go the gang also have met a lot of people and made many friends. Scooby-Dum (Scooby-Doo's cousin) occasionally followed the team to learn about being a detective to become a police dog. They also occasionally team up with a few famous celebrities. Later over the years, Fred and Velma left their friends for other careers then the it was just Scooby, Scrappy, Shaggy, and Daphne in the Mystery Inc. group. During the time Scooby, Scrappy, Shaggy, and Daphne became friends with Vincent Van Ghoul and Flim-Flam and had to chase after real monsters. Eventually Daphne left and went to follow a different career just like Fred and Velma then it was just Scooby, Shaggy and Scrappy but over time the Shaggy and the dogs stop going on adventures together and then there was no more Mystery Inc.

After the gang went there separate was Fred and Daphne stayed together as reporters though the gang loves to solve mysteries she mentioned they separated because they were tired of the same old thing. Eventually the hole original gang got back to together because they missed the good old times and good old days. Mystery Inc. was back in business and went on many great adventures again. After joining back up Daphne wanted proof of real monsters her experience her on adventures with Scooby, Shaggy, Scrappy and also the 13 Ghosts adventures is what made her want to prove that ghost, aliens and monsters are real she wanted her viewers to see creatures similar to what she had seen. Eventually Daphne just accepted that she will never have proof and started enjoying and having fun on their mysteries again even if the monster is just a robot, costume or hologram.

As the original members of Mystery Inc. got back together the later members didn't rejoin the teenage detective group Scooby-Dum who was never a full time member either stayed at home in Hokeyfenokee Swamp or finally got his dream to be a detective on the police force. Vincent Van Ghoul and Flim Flam only worked with Mystery Inc. to capture the 13 Ghosts after that the chest of demons was returned and Flim Flam probably stayed with Vincent because he was his apprentice and still has a lot to learn about magic. Scrappy Doo moved in with Yabba-Doo and Deputy Dusty probably after there was no more Mystery Inc. he still wanted to have action, mysteries and adventures with someone he knew because going solo is not fun.

Core Members Fred Jones Frederick Herman Jones is the leader of Mystery Inc. otherwise known as Fred or Freddie. His middle name Herman was revealed by Velma in "Aloha, Scooby-Doo!". He primarily dresses in a white V-necked sweater over a blue collared shirt. He also wears blue jeans and a orange ascot and wears brown shoes.

Daphne Blake Daphne Blake is the fashion-loving member of the group and is also Fred Jones' love interest. She can be very obsessed with how she looks; she usually wears a purple knit dress made with different shades of purple, pink tights, a green scarf, a purple headband, and very dressy purple shoes. Daphne is fairly known for being danger-prone (later revealed to have been somewhat genetic in "Scooby-Doo & The Loch Ness Monster,") and sometime before "Scooby-Doo & The Samurai Sword, she had taken self-defense classes. In The New Scooby-Doo & Scrappy-Doo Show and the 13th Ghost of Scooby-Doo, she took over Fred's role as leader of Mystery Inc.

Velma Dinkley Velma Dinkley is the brains of the group and she always wears an orange turtle neck and a red skirt. Mostly Velma is in second-in-command of the group. She also wears orange tube socks and red Mary-Jane shoes to match. She is often the brains behind the team, and usually hands out the Scooby Snacks.

Shaggy Rogers Norville Rogers, AKA Shaggy, is the owner and best friend of the group's mascot Scooby-Doo and he mostly wears a Pea Green baggy V-neck shirt, a pair of brown bell-bottoms and black shoes. Shaggy and Scooby are both the hearts of the team and the top guys who have the street smarts and luck to catch the villains. However, in the Ghoul School, Meets the Boo Brothers, the Reluctant Werewolf and the 13 Ghosts series, he wears a red V-neck shirt, blue pants (presumably jeans) and brown shoes. He loves food, and loves to eat with his best pal Scooby-Doo.

Scooby-Doo Scoobert "Scooby" Doo is the Great Dane mascot of the group and has 5 black spots on his back. He loves food and beverages. He also shares his love of food with his greatest and longtime friend, Shaggy Rogers. Mostly Shaggy and Scooby are the top guys and hearts of the team. Mostly their street smarts and luck helps the team catch the villains.

Former members Scooby-Dum Scooby-Dum is a white Great Dane with two buck teeth who is the cousin of Scooby-Doo he wears red hat and a red collar. Dum occasionally joined the Mystery Inc. every now and then to help gang solve mysteries. The reason for this was so he could learn about being detective to help him become a police dog.

Flim Flam Flim-Flam is an orphaned Latino kid who is a magician and scandal artist. He joined Mystery Inc. to help capture the 13 Ghosts that escaped from the Chest of Demons and ecause he was friend's with Vincent Van Ghoul who knew about the Chest and the Ghosts who escaped. Flim-Flam joined Mystery Inc. around the time when Fred and Velma left which was unknown to him.

The Gang's Mysteries Over the years the Mystery Inc. gang has solved many mysteries on and offscreen in the pages of comics as well as video games. Many of there cases involve debunking that monsters exist showing that people are the real monsters. The people behind the masks and costumes of fake monsters commonly use tricks, sounds, holograms, reflections, illusions, sounds, deceptions and lies to make people believe in a fake creature.

The whole point of the criminals using fake monsters is to either scare people away or scare others to give them what they want. The costumes and masks are used to hide the identity of the person who committed the crime. The crimes committed by the people behind the masks usually involve greed, real estate developers, thieves, bank robberies, counterfeiting, smuggling, jewelry, coverups, lawyers, businesses. Many of the case that the gang solves usually these people are after gold, treasure, valuable paintings, money, oil, money, crystal. Mystery Inc. has even solved a good number of cases involving stolen cars, planes and boats.

The mysteries the gang tries to figure out is how the crooks did it, why they did it, who is the culprit, what was stolen, what the crooks are up or what are they after, what are they hiding. Who is being framed, who is innocent and who is the real culprit. If the identity of the culprit is discovered or their plan is discovered or they fail to scare away anyone won't stop trying to solve the mystery the criminals will take hostages or kidnap someone to scare people into giving them what they want or scare them to not solve the mystery.

Trivia The Mystery Inc. gang had their first encounter with a real ghost named Bartholomew Byfard Boo (AKA Mr. Boo) in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo episode "Ghost Who's Coming to Dinner". Each member of the gang has an ability that Batman has: Fred: He and Batman are experts in creating traps and strategies for their enemies. Daphne: She and Batman are highly skilled experts in martial arts. Velma: She and Batman are excellent geniuses and use high tech gadgets for their investigations. Shaggy: He and Batman use ventriloquism to disguise their voices to fool their enemies. Scooby: He and Batman have excellent tracking skills and can find their enemies, even from a mile away. Velma and Fred helped Shaggy, Scooby, and Daphne solve the mystery behind the Ghost of Dr. Van Helsing in The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries "A Halloween Hassle". When the real Dracula, his wife, the Wolf Man, Frankenstein's Monster, the Mummy, Gill-Man, and the Invisible Man were being haunted. The Scooby Gang/Mystery Inc. helped Jeannie capture a real monster, Jadal, in The New Scooby-Doo Movies episode Mystery in Persia. In The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries episode "Happy Birthday, Scooby-Doo", it is revealed that Fred was writing mystery novels and Velma was with NASA. Which is why they aren't in the The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries series as well as The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo. Before Zombie Island, Mystery Inc. was starting to go their separate ways. This is known due to the fact that The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries and The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo didn't have Fred and Velma. In A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, before they were called Mystery Inc,, they were called the Scooby-Doo Detective Agency. While Fred left Mystery Inc. to write novels and Velma left Mystery Inc. to join NASA the Scooby-Doo franchise suffered with the characters leaving. Fred, Velma and eventually Daphne as well left the Scooby-Doo series because the three of them were considered more boring compared to Shaggy and Scobby. While the introduction of a new character like Scrappy both helped improve but also hurt the Scooby-Doo franchise removing the other members is what really hurt the series the most.
