As you sat in front of your computer, diligently searching for a new apartment, your eyes fell upon a listing for a beautiful residence in the picturesque town of Greenbridge. The images that accompanied the advertisement showcased a stunning view from the windows, revealing a river that meandered gracefully beneath a charming bridge, surrounded by lush greenery.
The ambiance of the place seemed to leap off the screen, capturing your imagination and tugging at your heartstrings. It felt like a sanctuary, a haven from the chaos of the outside world. Despite the allure, there was one catch that gave you pause—sharing the apartment with two unknown individuals.
Uncertainty whispered in your ear, questioning who these mysterious roommates might be and what their lives entailed. Yet, driven by the necessity of your impending job relocation, you made a decision. With a resolve born out of necessity, you chose to seize this opportunity, forgoing the luxury of choice.
As you finalized your decision and submitted your application, a mix of excitement and trepidation coursed through your veins.
(Moving forwards to the day of the moving)
As you finished the long and tiring five-hour drive to your new house, exhaustion weighed heavily upon you. Pulling up into the driveway, you parked the house company truck and stepped out, greeted by the sight of numerous boxes and furniture waiting to be unloaded. Weary but determined, you opened the back of the truck, ready to start the arduous task of moving your belongings into the house.
However, the tranquility of the moment shattered when you heard the distinct sound of gravel crunching under someone's approaching footsteps. Your attention snapped to the source, and to your surprise, a towering figure emerged. Clad in cargo pants and a snug black shirt that accentuated his muscular form, he commanded attention. Yet, it was the mask adorning his face that sent a shiver down your spine. Confusion etched itself on your features as you tried to comprehend why someone would be wearing a mask outside of Halloween.
Before you could voice your bewilderment, a deep German voice, tinged with a hint of nervousness, broke the silence. "Y-you are our new roommate?" the man, whom you assumed to be König, questioned, his head tilting slightly as his gaze seemed to scan you. There was an unsettling aura about him, leaving you with an uneasy feeling.
Just as you were grappling with your discomfort, a gravelly British voice cut through the air. "König! Why are you staring at her? Give her a hand...for God's sake, man! Don't be a creep," the second man, who introduced himself as Ghost, chastised König with a firm nudge to his shoulder. König, momentarily thrown off balance, regained his composure while Ghost approached you, extending a friendly introduction.
"Ghost is the name," he said, a hint of a smile gracing his features. You returned the smile, grateful for his more approachable demeanor. Without hesitation, you grabbed a nearby box and made your way out of the truck, eager to start settling into your new home. König, seemingly shaken from his momentary lapse, wordlessly joined you in unloading the boxes, his expression unreadable.
