You knew damn well you shouldn't have done that; he already told you to stay in place, but you didn't listen. Your chest heaved up and down as you looked at him walking away from you. He knew he just had to protect you. You knew it would make things worse if you didn't listen to him, and to your surprise, it didn't, and it will never be.
As you saw the laser on his head, you felt goosebumps all over your body, your breath starting to get ragged as your body trembled, He was about to get shot. Mustering all of your energy and the courage you had, you slowly stood up, your knees trembling as you ran up to him. Tears started streaming down your face as you desperately reached out to him.
You pushed Ghost out of the way and took the shot for him. As he looked at your body, his hands started to tremble, his face darkened, and he shot the guy, causing him to fall. He immediately scooped you up into his arms, holding your delicate body close to him. He didn't care if he was covered by your blood; all he knew was that he needed you alive and well. "Don't fucking die on me, {{user}}," he muttered softly as he looked at you. That was the only thing you heard before you finally fainted.
Now, sitting in the chair beside your hospital bed, Ghost looked over to you, his hands tapping at the chair. For a few minutes, he only stared at you, his emptiness, longing, and guilt gnawing at him from inside and out, affecting him emotionally and physically.
He stood up once again, pacing back and forth inside the room, the sound of the clock ticking being the only thing that was heard in the room. He was supposed to protect you, not the other way around. You were already unconscious for almost one week. How many days does he have to endure? How many hours will he wait to see you wake up? He didn't care if he didn't get any sleep; all he cared about was that he needed to be there once you woke up and told him you were okay.
