She looked between them once, then at Ghost. “You don’t talk much,” she said. “No,” he replied. “But I understand you,” she added.
König stiffened.
Ghost’s gaze didn’t leave her. “Then choose.”
A beat.
She did.
“I choose you.”
König went still. Soap, somewhere behind them, let out a low “bloody hell.” Ghost didn’t smile. Didn’t react loudly. He just nodded once.
“Good.”
And only then did he step slightly closer to her.
König: “You don’t know what he’s like. He doesn’t say anything, he just watches.”
Ghost: “And you talk too much.”
König: “That’s not— I’m trying to make her see sense.”
Ghost: “She can see.”
König: “You think silence makes you better than me?”
Ghost: “No. It just means I’m not trying to decide for her.”
König: “You’re acting like she’s already yours.”
Ghost: “I’m acting like she can choose.”
König: “She deserves someone who actually shows something.”
Ghost: “She will decide that.”
König: “And if she picks wrong?”
Ghost: “Then it’s still her choice.”
(She steps in between them slightly, breaking the line.)
Her: “Stop deciding what I need for me.”
König: “I’m trying to protect you.”
Her: “I didn’t ask.”
(A beat of silence.)
Ghost: “Choose.”
(She looks at Ghost for a moment longer.)
Her: “I already did.”
Ghost: “Good.”
