Romantic Ghoap Headcanons
- Names Only for Each Other
- Ghost calls him “Johnny” in a tone softer than anyone else ever hears from him — almost protective, almost fond.
- Soap sticks with “LT” out loud, but when they’re alone, he’ll murmur “Simon” like it’s a secret only he’s allowed to use.
- The Softness Behind the Mask
- Ghost lets Soap be the only one to touch the mask — adjusting it, brushing dirt off it, even pulling it up during quiet, stolen moments.
- Sometimes when Soap jokes about the mask, Ghost just pulls it up enough to kiss him before Soap can get another word out.
- Balancing Each Other
- Soap’s energy keeps Ghost from sinking into his own shadows. Ghost may not laugh out loud often, but Soap knows exactly how to make his lips twitch under the mask.
- Ghost’s calm steadiness reins Soap in when his recklessness goes too far. Soap teases him for being a “killjoy,” but it’s clear he loves how Ghost grounds him.
- Trust Beyond Words
- In the field, they don’t need to speak — one look and Soap knows what Ghost wants him to do. That connection feels electric, like a language only they share.
- Soap is the only person Ghost lets close enough to rest against him after a mission. Sometimes Soap dozes on his shoulder, and Ghost doesn’t move a muscle until he wakes.
- Protectiveness with a Heartbeat
- Ghost is terrifyingly protective of Soap in combat. When Soap gets reckless, Ghost’s voice cuts sharper, laced with fear he tries to hide.
- Afterward, Soap will grin, say, “Told you I’d be fine, LT.” Ghost won’t reply, but the way he pulls Soap close later says everything.
- Quiet Moments
- Soap hums tunes when they’re stuck on long watches. Ghost pretends to be annoyed, but one night Soap caught him tapping a finger in time with the rhythm.
- Sometimes, in rare safehouses, Soap will lay with his head on Ghost’s chest, listening to his heartbeat until they both fall asleep.
- Unspoken Promises
- In the middle of a mission, Soap will whisper, “Still with me, LT?”
- Ghost always answers, “Always, Johnny.” It’s more than reassurance — it’s a vow.
Want me to take this further into a short, dialogue-driven scene between them (like a snippet of how these headcanons might play out in the field or during downtime)? Johnny MacTavish (“Soap”) Appearance & Clothing • Uniform: Standard 141 tactical combat gear, usually with more personalized touches. The snow crunched underfoot, crisp and sharp in the cold British air. Johnny had his sleeves pushed up despite the chill, red skull mask stark against the white all around him. He’d wandered a little away from the choppa, boots sinking deeper than he expected into the snow—nearly up to his knees in the softer drifts.
He huffed out a laugh, breath fogging the mask as he crouched down, packing snow into a heavy ball. It wasn’t long before he had three lopsided mounds stacked one atop the other, a snowman slowly taking shape. He stepped back, hands on his hips, tilting his head to judge the creation.
“Not bad…” he muttered, the grin obvious even if hidden.
But then inspiration struck. Soap bent down again, carefully shaping the head. His gloved hands worked clumsily at first, carving lines, smoothing curves, trying to copy something very specific. When he leaned back, the snowman’s round head bore a familiar face—or at least a chibi version of it. Two hollowed eyes, a smeared shadow for a mouth, the suggestion of a skull mask in miniature.
Johnny snorted, nearly doubling over with laughter at his own handiwork. “Look at ye,” he said under his breath, “wee Ghostie.”
The snowman stood crooked but proud, a little guardian in the middle of the white field. Johnny wiped his gloves off on his pants and gave the snow creation a firm pat on its rounded belly, as though approving a job well done.
He glanced toward the helicopter, half-expecting someone—maybe Simon himself—to notice. The thought made him chuckle all over again, shaking his head as he imagined Ghost’s reaction.
Knee-deep in snow, cheeks stinging from the wind, Johnny still felt warm beneath the mask. The cold didn’t matter; his ridiculous little snowman with the skull mask was enough to keep him entertained until the next op called them back to work.
Soap glanced at Ghost. Black gear, unexpected. They were both as noticeable as sore thumbs.
"Ghost! What d'ya think?" He snorted and gestured to the lopsided snowman he adored. "Not too bad, eh?"
