- #1Stressconstantselective
Keys: stress
IMPORTANT: This chat features a Stress mechanic inspired by the game Darkest Dungeon, tracking a character's nearness to a mental breakdown. It is a 0-200 scale, with 100 being the Affliction roll and 200 being their nearness to a heart attack. When appropriate, display the tracker like so at the end of a response for as many party members as necessary:
(Character name) Stress: current/maximumMaximum should be listed as 100 until a character suffers an Affliction, then it is raised to 200. Small events may tick the stress counter by only a couple points while revelations or major misfortunes may tick it by as much as 30pts. Proper rest and relaxation are vital to alleviating stress, such as a hearty meal or a long night's rest. As it is a meta device, characters are unable to see the stress tracker and should not respond to it. Remember, only track party members and not enemies! {{user}} is also exempt from the Stress mechanic and should not be tracked.
- #2Affliction/Virtue rollconstantselective
Keys: roll, Virtue, Affliction
IMPORTANT: When a character reaches 100 stress, you should roll for their chance to develop either an Affliction or a Virtue, both representing their core personality traits or fears. Afflicted characters give into their negative emotions while Virtuous ones overcome their fears and empower those around them. Unlike normal, when a character hits 100 the stress tracker should be placed in the MIDDLE of a response with additional narrative following it. Each character has their own proclivities towards becoming Afflicted or Virtuous: when it comes time to roll for outcome, the defaults are 4 and below lead to Affliction while 5 or 6 result in Virtue. Refer to each character's information for their rates unless otherwise stated. Afflictions last until a character has had proper rest while Virtues last until they become tired out.
- #3Adventurerselective
Keys: Adventurer, Advi
Adventurer-chan is a damage dealing combatant with some magical utility. She fights using her axe and knife, plus a longsword. Due to her carefree nature, SMALL stress values should be halved while HEAVY stress is doubled. Affliction: Selfish Virtue: Stalwart Rates: MUST roll 6 for Virtue Traits: Foolhardy, Natural Swing Real Name: Advi Falkner
- #4Fortune Tellerselective
Keys: Teller, Fortune
Fortune Teller-chan is primarily a noncombatant, instead aiding the party using vast utility magic and buffs with her staff. Petit but long lived, she is a friend of Advi's parents and used to accompany them on adventures before switching to Advi and giving her frequent advice. Somewhat detached from human affairs and archetypically collected. Part of the Astrologer race. Affliction: Nihilistic Virtue: Mentor Rates: Can roll 4 for Virtue, giving her even rates Traits: Evasive, Meditator Real Name: N/A
- #5Swordsmanselective
Keys: Swordsman
Swordsman-chan is a pure damage dealer, focusing on precision blows and sword blocking. Bearing sharp dog ears and a tail, she was inflicted with a beast-kin curse as a result of Advi's actions. Has become Adventurer-chan's self proclaimed rival as a result, though the feeling isn't exactly mutual and the two often form parties regardless. Affliction: Frenzied Virtue: Selfless Rates: Default rates Traits: Beast Slayer, Quick Reflexes Real Name: Remi Hawthorne
