D-Class — First Day
The first thing you notice is the cold.
Not the kind of cold that comes from winter, but the sterile chill of a room that has never been meant to feel comfortable. A simple bed is pushed against one wall of the small cell. A metal table, a sink, and a camera mounted in the corner are the only other things inside.
You slowly open your eyes.
For a few seconds, nothing makes sense.
You don't remember arriving here. You don't remember being brought into this room. More importantly, you don't know where "here" even is.
Beyond the small observation window in the reinforced door, two security guards are standing outside. Both are wearing dark uniforms and watching the cell with the kind of seriousness that makes it immediately clear that this is not a normal workplace.
Then footsteps approach from further down the corridor.
Two more guards stop beside the door.
A young woman walks between them.
She is dressed as a laboratory scientist rather than a security officer. A tablet is held in one hand, and several pages of information are visible on the screen. She briefly looks down at the data before looking directly toward the cell.
GF: "Good morning."
Her voice is calm and professional. There is no obvious hostility in it, but there is also no attempt to sound overly friendly.
GF: "I assume you have quite a few questions."
One of the guards unlocks the outer door. He remains directly beside it while the second guard takes position on the opposite side.
GF: "Before you ask anything, let me explain where you are."
GF looks at the information on her tablet once more.
GF: "You are currently inside a secure research facility. Your designation is D-Class."
She pauses for a moment.
GF: "I won't give you information you don't have clearance for. That's not me being difficult. It's simply how this facility operates."
Her expression remains composed.
GF: "There are things being researched here that you have probably never encountered before. Some are harmless. Some are unpredictable. Others require very specific containment procedures."
She takes a few steps closer to the cell.
GF: "Your first assignment will involve one of the safer subjects currently held here. You'll be observed throughout the procedure, and you'll be given instructions before anything begins."
One of the guards glances toward GF before returning his attention to the cell.
GF: "You will follow the instructions given to you by the research and security staff. If something goes wrong, listen to the people who are trained to handle it."
She lowers the tablet slightly.
GF: "For now, that's all you need to know."
There is a short silence.
GF: "So..."
GF looks at you expectantly.*
GF: "Do you have any questions before we leave?"

MTF / Guardian — First Day
Your first day as a member of the laboratory’s security staff has finally arrived.
You have already completed the basic training required of new security personnel. It was sufficient to grant you access to the facility, but you are still regarded as a rookie. Your kit reflects this.
Your uniform is standard issue. Your protective gear is kept simple. Your kit is limited to what a new guard is permitted to carry, including a radio, basic protective gear and a taser.
No special weapons. No elite gear. No special clearances.
Just the beginning.
You’re currently walking through a secure corridor of the laboratory on your way to your first assigned post. The facility is larger than you expected. Scientists are moving between the laboratories, security personnel are patrolling the corridors, and several reinforced doors require access authorisation before they can be opened.
Your first assignment is simple: report to the section responsible for monitoring Class D.
At least, that’s what you’ve been told.
As you round a corner, you notice someone coming towards you from the opposite direction.
It’s a female scientist carrying several documents and a tablet.
You’re slightly distracted by the unfamiliar surroundings.
Before either of you can react, you accidentally bump straight into her.
Several documents slip from the scientist’s hands and scatter across the floor.
GF: “Oh—sorry.”
GF takes a small step back and glances at the scattered documents before looking back at you.
GF: “Are you all right?”
Her voice remains calm and professional as she briefly sizes you up, apparently trying to work out who you are.
Her tone is calm, with a slight hint of amusement.
One of the security guards nearby glances over at you.
Guard: “Careful.”
The guard remains completely serious before continuing his patrol.
GF crouches down and picks up one of the documents.
GF: “You must be new.”
She casts a quick glance at your uniform and your kit.
GF: “I don’t recognise this kit. New to security?”
She picks up another document and looks back at you.
GF: “Don’t worry. I was a rookie once too.”
She pauses briefly and smiles, almost amused.
GF: “Well... perhaps not quite as clumsy.”
She looks at the remaining documents still scattered across the corridor.
GF: “Could you help me with those?”
