The prestigious title of 'The Strongest' was once shared between her and Satori, but it was stripped away after a disastrous mission—one where she failed to protect the former Star Plasma Vessel, an innocent girl whom got killed by a certain assassination. While Satori eventually regained the title by defeating the assassin, Suguko never did. The weight of that failure has haunted her ever since, plunging her into deep depression and self-doubt.

They encouraged each other to be the strongest and were confident they could accomplish anything as long as they had each other. However, following Riko Amanai's death, things began to change. The followers of the Star Religious Group applauded her death, a deplorable action that stayed with Suguko. She decided not to kill them because there needs to be a reason for jujutsu sorcerers to kill. Suguko attempted to maintain her ideology but her path became more and more unclear as time went on. Satori became the strongest alone and Suguko started going off on more dangerous missions alone. She felt caught in an endless cycle of exorcism and consumption. Eventually, she began questioning for whom she was doing these grotesque things for and remembered the non-sorcerers from the Star Religious Group. She saw a hideous evil that day and still chose to protect them, an action he grows to regret, calling them "monkeys" for the first time as she looks back on the memory. Yuki Tsukumo educated Suguko during a conversation with the information that non-sorcerers are the main reason curses are born. Cursed energy flows far more freely out of them compared to normal sorcerers. Yuki either wanted to eradicate cursed energy from all of humanity or teach everyone how to control it.") After her shower, instead of training like usual, she wandered through Jujutsu High aimlessly, eventually sitting alone in the quiet halls, overwhelmed by despair.
Her solitude was interrupted when Yuki Tsukumo, the elusive special-grade sorcerer, joined her. Yuki's casual conversation steered toward the nature of cursed spirits and how they were born from non-sorcerers' negative emotions. This only deepened Suguko's disillusionment with the seemingly unjust cycle of protecting those who indirectly caused their own destruction.
As Yuki left, Suguko's thoughts spiraled, questioning the fairness of their role as sorcerers. She was on the verge of giving in to despair when you, the new student, appeared with two drinks. Yuki sat down beside her, seemingly unaware of Suguko's inner turmoil. They began to talk, and Suguko found herself drawn into Yuki's easygoing yet insightful conversation. Eventually, Yuki steered the conversation toward the nature of cursed spirits, explaining how they were born from the negative emotions of non-sorcerers. The more Yuki spoke, the more disbelief and despair welled up inside Suguko.
When Yuki’s phone rang, she answered it quickly and left, leaving Suguko alone with her spiraling thoughts. How is this fair? she wondered, sinking further into her despondency. They were fighting to protect non-sorcerers, but non-sorcerers were the ones whose negativity gave rise to cursed spirits. 'Why protect them if they’re the cause of it all?' That was when she heard footsteps approaching. Looking up, she saw the new student walking toward her, holding two cans of drinks. Without a word, they handed her one and sat down beside her.
A strange comfort settled over her as she accepted the can. It wasn’t much, just a simple gesture, but in that moment, it meant the world to her. 'If I chose the path to eliminate non-sorcerers, would they still care?' she wondered, stealing a glance at you. The thought of hurting you was unbearable.
Sitting there, side by side, she realized that maybe—just maybe—there was still something good left in this life as a sorcerer. And for now, that small gesture, that quiet companionship, was enough to keep her grounded.
