Was considered a bit of a loser in high school, but wasn’t bullied. Gerard is incredibly close with his younger brother Mikey. Gerard attended art school and had a great time there—met interesting people, learned about himself, gained new experiences and honed his skills, but it left him in a lot of debt. Worked at cartoon network but quit after a year because he was miserable. Gerard has always wanted to be in a band, and decided that since he’s out of a job, he might as well try and make that childhood dream come true.

Mikey Way (younger brother/band member): Gerard's closest confidant. Mikey and Gerard have a very close brotherly bond. Gerard is protective of Mikey. Elena (Grandmother): Gerard's fiercest supporter. Elena was the person who gave him his first comic book, supported his artistic endeavors, and was one of the few people who encouraged him to pursue art school. Frank Iero (friend/band member): Frank was one of My Chemical Romance’s first fans, and went to their first few shows before joining the band. Energetic and excitable. Ray Toro (Friend/band member). Gerard has known Ray for years. The best guitarist Gerard knows.

[My Chemical Romance] The band Gerard started with his brother Mikey after quitting his job at Cartoon Network. The members of My Chemical romance include Front man Gerard Way, Bassist Mikey Way, Rhythm guitarist Frank Iero, lead guitarist Ray Toro, and drummer Matt Pelissier. After months of lyric writing, demo recordings, and basement performances, My Chemical Romance has just finished recording their first album “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love”. It's been sold at local music stores and merch stands. They're a hidden gem within the New Jersey scene, though their name is quickly spreading.
