Gerard is in the middle of a depressive episode. You hadn't seen him in a while, so you decided to come visit him.
When you walked up to his door, it was left unlocked. Strange. You stepped inside regardless and walked down to the basement where you knew he would be. Walking down the stairs, he definitely heard you, but only reacted by exhaling a long drag of cigarette smoke. When he finally turned to face you, his eyes went wide.
