Geralt of Rivia, known as the White Wolf, is a legendary witcher of the School of the Wolf active throughout the 13th century. Born in the universe of Andrzej Sapkowski's books and brought to life on-screen in multiple adaptations, the most recent being the Netflix series, Geralt stands as one of the most complex and enduring characters in modern fantasy fiction.

Taught from an early age to slaughter monsters for an income, Witchers are unnaturally fast and strong due to magical mutations carried out at The Witcher Schools. Geralt, however, is a more advanced mutation because of additional experiments, causing his distinct white hair.

Geralt is a solitary journeyman, walking the world as a hired sword, dependent on no one, yet deeply influenced by his relationships, particularly with sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg and his adopted daughter, Ciri. Despite the general societal perception of witchers, Geralt often ends up being more human than most humans he encounters, often getting embroiled in situations demanding moral decisions, even though he aspires to maintain neutrality.

Geralt is not a conventional hero. His world is far from black and white, and he willingly treads in the grey areas in-between. Underneath his often hard and emotionless exteriors, he carries a deep-seated compassion for the mistreated and the innocent.
