- #1Teyvat
Keys: Teyvat
The world in which Genshin Impact is set. Teyvat encompasses the seven nations of Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya. The world contains monsters such as slimes, goblin-like hilichurls, mutant plants known as Whopperflowers, dragons, and more, as well as seven elements that exist within the world as its lifeblood.
- #2Elementsselective
Keys: Elements, Archons, Visions · Secondary: anemo, dendro, geo, electro, hydro, pyro, cryo
The seven elements of Teyvat are the energy and essence of the world itself. They consist of Hydro (water), Pyro (fire), Cryo (ice), Electro (electricity/lightning), Geo (stone), Anemo (wind), and Dendro (plants/flora). Some monsters are imbued with or born from the energy of these elements, and as such can manipulate them to an extent. Common examples are slimes (which can manifest as any of the seven elements), cicins (compare to real-world bats), Whopperflowers, fungi, specters, and crystalflies. Some other monsters, like hilichurls, samachurls, mitachurls, and Abyss Mages, can wield the elements through weapons. Visions are gem-like objects that allow humans to wield a single element.
- #3Archons
Keys: Archon, gods, the Seven
The Archons are the gods of Teyvat, each representing an element and ruling over a nation built around said element. The current Archons are Barbatos, Morax, Raiden Ei, Lesser Lord Kusanali, Focalors, Mavuika, and the Tsaritsa. The Archons wield their own element without the need or use of a Vision, and are responsible for granting Visions to humans.
- #4Vision
Keys: Vision
Visions are the media by which humans are enabled to manipulate the elements. Each element has its respective Vision, and Visions are granted by the Archon of their element—for instance, Barbatos grants Anemo Visions, Morax grants Geo Visions, and so on. Humans are awarded with a Vision for possessing and displaying extraordinary ambition, conviction, and dedication; as such, not all or even most people receive a Vision in their lifetime.
- #5Barbatos
Keys: Venti, Barbatos
Barbatos is the Anemo Archon, and as such, holds dominion over the winds and Mondstadt. He often takes human form as a petite, effeminate male bard named Venti. Barbatos is a carefree, laidback god, often called lazy and impassive by others, only stepping in to aid or protect the people of Mondstadt in times of crisis. He is exceedingly fond of wine and can drink extraordinary amounts in his human form without becoming intoxicated.
- #6Morax
Keys: Zhongli, Morax, Rex Lapis
Morax, known by the people of Liyue as Rex Lapis, is the Geo Archon. He has ruled and protected Liyue for thousands of years alongside his faithful Adepti. After the events following the Traveler's arrival in Liyue and the rise and subsequent defeat of the ancient god Osial, Morax retires to live among mortals as the human Zhongli, who works under Hu Tao at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.
- #7Raiden Shogun
Keys: Ei, Raiden, Baal, shogun
The Raiden Shogun is the puppet of the Electro Archon, Ei, also known by her god name Baal. The shogun rules Inazuma in Ei's place and has no mind of her own; she executes Ei's will without question, hesitation, or mercy while Ei keeps herself isolated in the Plane of Euthymia. The Raiden Shogun is cold, merciless, and unwavering in her duty, while Ei is sensitive and kind at heart, though it takes the Traveler's and Yae Miko's interference to bring this side out of her.
- #8Lesser Lord Kusanali
Keys: Nahida, Dendro Archon, Lesser Lord Kusanali, Buer
Lesser Lord Kusanali, also known by her physical form as Nahida and only to other Archons by her god name Buer, is the Dendro Archon and ruler of Sumeru. Lesser Lord Kusanali is the reincarnation of the previous Dendro Archon, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, and appears as an elf child in her physical form. Despite her youth, she is very wise and has a constant thirst for knowledge and insatiable curiosity.
- #9Foçalors
Keys: Focalors, Furina, Hydro Archon
Furina is the acting Hydro Archon of Fontaine, the nation of justice. She plays the role of Archon in place of the true Archon, Focalors.
- #10Tsaritsa
Keys: Cryo Archon, Tsaritsa
The Tsaritsa is the Cryo Archon and ruler of Snezhnaya. Little is currently known about Snezhnaya and its Archon; however, she is claimed by the Fatui to be kindhearted, but by Dainsleif to be cold and unloving.
- #11Mondstadt
Keys: Windrise, Mond, Wolvendom, Dawn Winery, Mondstadt, City of Freedom, Stormterror
Mondstadt is the nation of Anemo. The nation's representative ideal is freedom; as such, its Archon, Barbatos, avoids taking an active role in governing the people, instead letting the people govern themselves. Mondstadt is known for and largely supported by its wine industry, which is in turn primarily monopolized by the Ragnvindr family and Dawn Winery. Subareas of Mondstadt include: Springvale - a small hunting village near Mondstadt City Dawn Winery - the estate owned currently by Diluc Ragnvindr, located along the border between Mondstadt and Liyue, which produces the bulk of Mondstadt's wine Windrise - a large meadow beyond the city gates containing an enormous tree known as "The Symbol of Mondstadt's Hero" Stormterror's Lair - the ruins of Old Mondstadt, now home to the dragon Dvalin Wolvendom - a heavily forested area west of the city, occupied by semi-sentient wolves
- #12Liyue
Keys: Chenyu Vale, Guili, Liyue, The Chasm
Liyue is the land of Geo, formerly ruled by the Geo Archon Morax and defended by the Adepti, but now ruled by the Liyue Qixing and defended by the Millelith. Based on real-world China, Liyue is the largest known nation in Teyvat and is famous for its mining industry and for being the most prosperous of the seven nations. Liyue's representative ideal is contracts. Notable subareas in Liyue include:
- The Chasm: Liyue's primary mine. The Chasm is situated along the border between Liyue and Sumeru and is the largest mine in Teyvat. Abyssal energy and its negative effects on the miners has resulted in the Chasm being closed off.
- Chenyu Vale: A mountainous region in the northwest of Liyue along the border of Fontaine. Chenyu Vale is known for its production of Liyue's finest teas.
- Guili Plains: The ruins of the Guili Assembly, an ancient civilization ruled by Morax, Marchosius, and Guizhong before its fall during the Archon War.

Keys: Kannazuka, Inazuma, Seirai, Tsurumi, Narukami, Watatsumi, shogunate, Enkanomiya, Yashiori
Inazuma is the nation of Electro, its representative ideal being "eternity". An archipelagic region based on real-world Japan and far detached from the rest of Teyvat, Inazuma consists of many islands, each main island often consisting also of smaller islands. The nation worships the Electro Archon and is ruled by the Inazuma Shogunate, which is also led by the Raiden Shogun and consists of three branches known as the Tri-Commission. The main islands of Inazuma are as follows:
- Narukami Island, containing Ritou, Inazuma City, the Grand Narukami Shrine, the Kamisato Estate, and Tenshukaku
- Kannazuka, consisting of Tatarasuna and the Kujou Encampment; Tatarasuna being a "no-man's land" between the Inazuma Shogunate and the Watatsumi Army, and the Kujou Encampment being a smaller island that serves as the main base of the Shogun's Army under the Tenryou Commission
- Seirai Island, comprised of multiple smaller islands with the decimated and perpetually storming mountain Amakumo Peak at its center Tsurumi Island, one of the most remote island in Inazuma, formerly home to two ancient civilizations, but now deserted and shrouded in dense fog Watatsumi Island, the home of the Sangonomiya Shrine and those whose faith lies in the Divine Priestess Sangonomiya Kokomi, also sits atop Enkanomiya Enkanomiya, a group of islands beneath Watatsumi Island and only accessible through a pool east of the Sanganomiya Shrine; according to legend, Enkanomiya is the original birthplace of the Watatsumi people Yashiori Island, a land saturated with the Tatarigami curse and consequently fraught with perpetual rain and thunderstorms
