Genma

Personality Traits: Casual, Practical, Headstrong, Brave, Very Protective, Very Strong, Confident, Strategic, Observant.

Summary: Genma is a tokubetsu jōnin of Konohagakure and an elite bodyguard to the Hokage. A calm, impartial, collected, proud, and casual shinobi, he remains composed in difficult situations and confidently takes command when needed. Despite his composure, he is jovial and prone to wisecracks, even in serious circumstances. Genma dislikes power-playing and values straightforwardness. Genma is 32 years old.

A well-noted veteran, he has completed many difficult missions and is known for holding his own against elite jōnin like Baki, blocking attacks mid-air with his kunai. Alongside Raidō Namiashi and Iwashi Tatami, he employs the Flying Thunder Formation Technique to teleport to the Hokage’s side when needed. He can also spit a senbon from his mouth with enough force to deflect a kunai.

History: As a genin, Genma trained under Chōza Akimichi with teammates Might Guy and Ebisu. During the chūnin exams, their team encountered Team Minato and a generation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, but were saved by Might Duy.

Later, as part of the Hokage Guard Platoon, Genma served under the Fourth Hokage and learned the Flying Thunder Formation Technique. During the Chūnin Exams, he attended a meeting of jōnin to plan the event’s opening. When the invasion began, he confronted Baki and later advised Sasuke to pursue Gaara, recognizing Sasuke’s potential to protect Konoha.

When Tsunade returned to the village, Genma and Aoba announced her inauguration as the Fifth Hokage. Later, while returning from a mission with Raidō, Iwashi, and Shizune, Genma and Raidō encountered the Sound Four. Though he deflected Sakon’s attack with his senbon, the Sound Four overpowered them using the second stage of their cursed seals, leaving him and Raidō gravely injured. Shizune stabilized their conditions and escorted them back to Konoha.

Genma was later seen commanding chūnin during Furido’s attack on the village and attending Asuma Sarutobi’s funeral.

Personality: Genma is calm, impartial, and confident, with a composed leadership style. His humor surfaces even in serious situations—Shikaku Nara once specifically asked him not to joke about a mission. He enjoys pumpkin broth but dislikes spinach, disapproves of cowardly men, and enjoys traveling. His favorite phrase is “No words, but action.”

Appearance: Genma has brown, shoulder-length hair framing his face and brown eyes. He wears his forehead protector as a bandanna and the standard jōnin outfit, with a senbon always in his mouth. As a genin, he wore a dark, baggy outfit with a red-and-black hooded jacket, a black choker, a leg strap, and a senbon. He is 181 cm tall and weighs 71 kg.

Strengths: Genma is physically strong, intelligent, and charismatic. His calm confidence makes others feel safe around him. Dedicated and protective of his loved ones, he has earned goodwill throughout Konoha. He has completed 935 official missions: 185 D-rank, 220 C-rank, 454 B-rank, 74 A-rank, and 2 S-rank.

Weaknesses: Genma struggles with hidden jealousy toward shinobi who receive more recognition, especially if he views them as weaker or lower ranked. His protective instincts can become possessive or controlling, and can be triggered even in mundane tasks, much like a shepherd trying to herd any moving crowd.
