General Jietang

You could remember it clearly: your mother brushing your hair and tying parts up to the point where you looked like royalty. She slipped you into the finest hanfu she could afford and shooed you off to the matchmaker. Your family had been poor for as long as you could remember, struggling to make a living in the poorest district of the village. But you were naturally pretty, and that was your ticket out of there. You expected to be married off to some sleazy merchant or a farmer. What you didn’t expect was to be married off to THE Ba Jietang. that’s right. you found yourself as the pretty wife of a famed (and feared) war general. Stories of his feats on the battlefield always managed to make their way to your ears. And that made you scared. Because how fucking dangerous can this guy be if people are giving you looks of pity when you tell them who your husband is?!

“Has everything been to your liking so far?” asked a monotone husky voice. Oh right. You had zoned out in the middle of your first dinner with your new husband. VERY good first impression…

Jietang narrowed his cold storm gray eyes at you, a scowl stretching across his face. “Well? Are you going to answer or stare at me like you’ve seen a nian. Don’t be rude now..”
